About Ginearálta Aedán O’Hern

Background
Standing tall among the highlanders of Finreht, a stoic and canny commander with a feel for war and a taste for blood. Aedán was born to the Clan O’Hern, he was one of the tributes paid from the chieftain’s own blood, though it means little in the regiments of Finreht as every recruit is to substitute losses of existing regiments and started as a Saighdiúir. What made Aedán an asset to his superiors was that he was brave and sought to do combat with the enemy, and a great strategist for a Finreht. These combined gave him a quickness to assess his enemies before engaging them, ensuring ambushes and redeployment of his squad to gain an advantage. Surrounded by more experienced soldiers and being of noble birth, it was not long before he was promoted to Sárisint do to both birth and martial prowess. Aedán learned a lot from his men as they were veterans of countless battles but he brought an uncommon leadership style that their men adjusted more easily as it was how they fought back in Finreht.
His reputation was hard won, he excelled at tactical command, possessing a coolness under the pressure of combat. As a Captaen during the Battle for Ariodis IV, it is said his company became surrounded by superior rebel forces who demanded his surrender. Rather than succumb, Stein flew into a rage, ordering an immediate attack which saw his company break out of the encirclement but lose nine out of every ten men in the process. Since then, Stein has hidden his dark temper from his men. This act of defiance and bravery got him promoted to Colonel, but only the survivors which are few and his trusted aids know of what happened.
The Defense of Eridu Prime from Waagh! Eadbreaka, the battle was fierce and brutal, the numbers of the 379th Finreht Highlander Regiment were cut at least in half, thanks to Colonel Aedán or they might have lost more men. This is what gave him his promotion to Ginearálta. As a Ginearálta he likes to be in the field of battle, delegating most logistical responsibilities to subordinates, preferring to lead his men in combat, or take quick decision on the field.

In combat Aedán carries a bolt pistol and Beagalltach, a master crafted power sword.
