Irak, like most Jedi, was taken to be trained soon after his birth,
though his parents were ok with it, since they considered it an honor for their son to be trained as a Jedi. Irak joined a group of younglings, training and learning the Jedi ways. Once, while on a trip to learn about the various Jedi training facilities in the galaxy, the ship Irak was on was attacked by Sith remnants. A Sith that had boarded the ship found Irak hiding and attempted to corrupt the youngling. However, Irak resisted long enough for a Jedi Sentinel to come along and defeat the Sith warrior. Irak's ability to resist the dark side was noted and he was chosen to receive
training as a Sentinel. Now he travels the galaxy with his master as a Padawan learner, hunting down the evil of the dark side.
