Character History:
This is about Ingra.
Ingra, second daughter of Grunyar and Bodill of the Clan Helvolan. She grew up learning how to be a proper dwur wife and warrior. Her mother taught her the ways of the household and some healing arts and her father the arts of war. She was by no means a great warrior and she loved working with the warhammer, but she would never be great. She did, however, love working with her mother, with the healing arts and herbs.
As luck would have it, her father was working on a warhammer for Ingra, there was a freak accident with the forge and her father was killed. She was about 30 when this happened. She and her sister and mother grieved for a year, about the unfairness of the death. Then one day, a cleric of Torag came by the house. He was a distant cousin and he explained about Torag. The more she listened to him, the more enthralled she became with Torag. She wanted to become a cleric of Torag. What better honor could she make of her fathers death than to follow the god of the Forge.
Her first job was to learn how to make weapons, to use the forge. She started with what her father had taught her and built upon that training, She made her daggers and even a short sword. She knew she was ready when she was able to complete the warhammer her father was working on in such a manner that you could not tell where his work ended and hers started. That is the weapon she now carries. It took her 5 years to complete the hammer and during that time, she also learned the healing arts from her mother. All about herbs and healing and treating the wounded. At the completion of her warhammer, she was blessed by her mother and she went to the temple of Torag to begin her training as a cleric.
This was a good time for her, she learned everything she could learn from everyone that would teach her. The healing came easily some of the other spells were a little more difficult for her, but after much training, she was getting those as well.
During this time of training, she made the acquaintance of a first cousin, His name is Gerrok, her father and his father were brothers. She didn't remember much about that part of the family, Her parents never said much about her uncle and now that she knows Gerrok, maybe she will find out why. He is searching for something though, if Ingra had to, she would have guessed that he is searching for peace or fulfillment and definitely purpose. She told him how she had came to be a cleric of Torag after her father's death.
After staying at the temple for a month, he looked better,much better than when he got here.She thinks he found some answers to his questions. When he left, he found part of what he was looking for, a temple for fighters, fighters that don't use weapons. (that is truely an odd concept for a dwur). He has gone to train at another temple. She missed him after he departed because they had become close friends and she kept in contact with him.
Times were good, training was going well and from the letters from Gerrok, he was also doing well. Then one day, something happened to shake up her safe world. There was a letter her room when she returned from the forge, about some land that needed reclaiming and she was being asked to go. The thought of that thrilled and scared her all at the same time and naturally she thought of Gerrok. This would be a perfect way for him to prove himself to, well himself.
So she wrote to him and together they set off for Bittertears for the grand adventure.
