The sun is so bright today! It feels a little warm, at least warmer than the super cold wind. I wonder if Elissa is able to come out and play in the snow today? A small girl, hair the color of burnished copper ran out of the sturdy wooden house and across the frozen dirt. She skidded to a halt in front of another heavy hide door covering.
'Lissa! Let's go play in the snow! It's so pretty out! Looks like a bunch of sparkly jewels all across the ground!
Another small girl, bundled up in the furs of a northern fox came running out of the building, a smile plastered across her face.
Mea! Let's go! she screams as the pair runs out past the boundaries of the village.
They threw snowballs and tumbled into the powder, making angels. As the sun started to set, the howl of a wolf in the distance snapped their attention back to the present.
We have to go 'Lissa, I'm scared! We should get home now!
Nooo Mea! I wanna stay out here and keep playing. The stars will be out soon, they are even prettier than the snow!
Stars out? If we're out when the stars come out, we're gonna get eaten by that wolf!
They argued for another few minutes, the disagreement bringing Imealla to tears. When she finally broke, and began bawling, Elissa started to scream. Imealla opened her eyes and blinked the tears out.
Why is it so bright out? The sun is going down? Why.....
Her thoughts were interrupted by 'Lissa's continued screaming. Across the snowfields she saw a handful of adults running across the field.
Her head is on fire! Save her!

Imealla sat up in a sweat. Her room was dark and the only sound was that of her heart thudding in her ears. Closing her eyes, a soft light slowly filled the room as her halo swirled into existence around her head.
Why would I think of 'Lissa after all these years? I haven't thought about that day in - how long has it been? Not since before I came to Absalom at least.
