- Favored enemy: Humanoid (human). A ranger gains a +4 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks against creatures of his selected type. Likewise, he gets a +4 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against them. A ranger may make Knowledge skill checks untrained when attempting to identify these creatures. - Favored enemy: Monsterous Humanoid. A ranger gains a +2 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks against creatures of his selected type. Likewise, he gets a +2 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against them. A ranger may make Knowledge skill checks untrained when attempting to identify these creatures. - Track: A ranger adds half his level to Survival skill checks made to follow or identify tracks. - Wild empathy: A ranger can improve the initial attitude of an animal. This ability functions just like a Diplomacy check to improve the attitude of a person (see Using Skills). The ranger rolls 1d20 and adds his ranger level and his Charisma bonus to determine the wild empathy check result. The typical domestic animal has a starting attitude of indifferent, while wild animals are usually unfriendly. To use wild empathy, the ranger and the animal must be within 30 feet of one another under normal visibility conditions. Generally, influencing an animal in this way takes 1 minute, but, as with influencing people, it might take more or less time. The ranger can also use this ability to influence a magical beast with an Intelligence score of 1 or 2, but he takes a –4 penalty on the check. - Urban Ranger: At 1st level, an urban ranger adds Disable Device and Knowledge (local) to his list of class skills and removes Handle Animal and Knowledge (nature) from his list of class skills. - Combat Style Feat (Ex): At 2nd level, a ranger must select one of two combat styles to pursue: archery or twoweapon combat. The ranger’s expertise manifests in the form of bonus feats at 2nd, 6th, 10th, 14th, and 18th level. He can choose feats from his selected combat style, even if he does not have the normal prerequisites. - Trapfinding: At 3rd level, an urban ranger can find and disable traps, as the rogue class feature of the same name. This ability replaces endurance. - Hunter’s Bond (Ex): At 4th level, a ranger forms a close bond with an animal companion. - Hunter’s Tricks: At 5th level, a skirmisher ranger learns the use of hunter’s tricks, which typically grant a boon or bonus to the ranger or a nearby ally. At 5th level, the ranger learns one trick. A ranger can use these tricks a total number of times per day equal to 1/2 his ranger level + his Wisdom modifier. (2+2=4) Racial Abilities:
- +2 to One Ability Score: Half-elf characters get a +2 bonus to one ability score of their choice at creation to represent their varied nature. - Medium: Half-elves are Medium creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size. - Normal Speed: Half-elves have a base speed of 30 feet. - Low-Light Vision: Half-elves can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light. See Chapter 7. - Adaptability: Half-elves receive Skill Focus as a bonus feat at 1st level. (Acrobatics) - Elf Blood: Half-elves count as both elves and humans for any effect related to race. - Elven Immunities: Half-elves are immune to magic sleep effects and get a +2 racial saving throw bonus against enchantment spells and effects. - Keen Senses: Half-elves receive a +2 racial bonus on Perception skill checks. - Multitalented: Half-elves choose two favored classes at first level and gain +1 hit point or +1 skill point whenever they take a level in either one of those classes. - Languages: Half-elves begin play speaking Common and Elven. Half-elves with high Intelligence scores can choose any languages they want (except secret languages, such as Druidic). Animal Companion:

Intro:
Ilorian checked his saddle bags for the third time, and turned to look down at the scraggly wolf laying in the dirt, that was the unofficial mascot of Raptor Company. ”You and me is all that’s left boy, let’s get rambling.” The wolf raises its ears and bounded to its feet, standing strait and rigid. Damn wolf only does that when… “SGT Darlok.” Ilorian spins on his heels and snaps to attention. ”General Dakovya. Good afternoon Sir.” Before Illorian stands the old General in charge of the Andoran army. “You don’t have to do that anymore Darlok. You have been released from service.” The old man turns and spits into the dust swerling around his feet. Ilorian relaxes his stance and looks sheepishly at the Dakovya. “Old habit General.”
It’s Ilorian’s turn to spit into the dust, ”No Sir. I am done with this. I have been in the Army almost half my life and other than all the scars, I have nothing to show for it. Time to move on and make the gold I need for a life better than seeing my friends butchered because of a wet behind the ears nobles’ son’s incompetence.”
“I’m listening General.” ”Since your new found career is all about gold, how does 2,500 strike you?”
