I've been toying with the following build:
Ranger, not fighter:
STR 17 (13) DEX 12 (2) CON 14+2 (5) INT 10 WIS 10+2 CHA 8
The key here is that the Ranger gets (at 2nd level) Two Weapon Fighting without needing gobs of Dexterity.
Feats:
1st: Weapon Focus [Dwarven War Axe]
2nd; Two Weapon Fighting
3rd: Double Slice
4th: +1 STR
5th: Two Weapon Defense
6th: Improved Two Weapon FightingBy 6th level, your attack chain looks like this:
+8/+8/+3/+3. Against ACs at this level (22-25) even a minor set of magic items or party buffs turns you into a threshing machine.
+6 (BAB) +4 (STR) +1 (WF) +1 (Masterwork Weapons), -4 (Using two extra large weapons). A party member casting Haste on you, or Bull's Strength significantly boosts your effectiveness as it gets you past the "Misses all the time" threshold.
The reason I recommend Ranger over fighter is threefold:
1) Two weapon fighting with crummy DEX
2) One of the fighter's better special abilities doesn't apply to you (Armor Training)
3) Skill points and Perception as a class skill.
I like your dwarf ranger build a lot AdAstraGames. But wouldn't the double slice feat require a dex of 15? I'm a new pathfinder player and want to try this build in my groups new campaign.
