As I've posted in other games, my life took a turn for the busy recently. It's slowed down all of my posting, so when a game doesn't have an update it makes it easy for me to let it slide. I hate letting games die, and don't want to be a part of that. At the same time, I do feel bad on my lack of time/mental energy making my posts less frequent. So rambling aside, I'm here if the group wants to continue.

Having reached Ivar, Helgar went about repairing his wounds. ”Gods, we’re really doing this. So what’s the plan? We can’t just charge in or they’ll fill us with bolts.”

If possible I’d like her to hold onto the casting for this round, so she doesn’t get in the way of him swinging his weapon. That sounds like a potentially painful learning experience!

CLW Ivar: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 Rushing to Ivar’s side, Helgar chanted the words of reforging, to close the gaping wound left by the crossbow bolt. While she couldn’t heal it completely, she at least fixed the worst of it.

Helgar approached the door with Ivar, hammer and shield at the ready. As the door opened she took a defensive stance and yelled ”Brigands! Surrender now and nobody has to get hurt.” Readied: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

Hence my readied action while calling for the brigands to surrender. Now if they attack her it is all in self defense! Plus it gives them knowledge of who we think they are.

"Wait." Helgar whispered, trying to keep her voice brave. "Let me pray first. Nempura, let me touch your bow..." 4x uses on Nempura's bow. For two hours her bow is masterwork. Everyone else has masterwork, so her ability is otherwise not useable She traced runes across it's surface, causing the weapon to shimmer and transform into that which it could have been. The true potential of the weapon came out, leaving it with the exact perfect weight and balance, as if though it had been made by a master craftsman. No spells left as we couldn't rest. Ready to go!

"Aye, but I've nothing left in me to channel. The Gods be strong, but their servants? There is only so much we can do. I can swing this hammer just fine, but if there is another owlbear?" She let the question hang.

Putting on a brave face Helgar nodded. She didn’t trust herself to talk. That had been horrifying! Once more she had looked death in the eye and lived. She told herself that this should steel her, even if a nagging thought said that it was only a matter of time until that changed. Walking over to Albin she tapped his wounds with her hammer. She went around doing this to all who were hurt, causing her hammer to glow softly as she “reforged” her comrades and then herself. CLW Albin: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

”Heard that deep woods are never empty.” Helgar mused. ”Elves, fey, trolls…then again, most people telling the tales were drunk. So far all I see is trees and more trees.” She said as she stumbled on a root. ”How could anyone live in such a place? Can barely take a step without hitting something.”

Helgar likewise bought a machete, rationalizing that something with an edge was always useful to have around. With the others actively helping, she did what she could: she prayed. Which luckily was somewhat effective.

Dancing. There was something so human or elven about it. To flail about wildly just because there was music like a man, or to prance about ritualistically like an elf, either way it didn't make much sense to her. Though she rationalized that every culture had their own mating rituals and if it made them happy, then who was she to judge? And, as it seemed like now, if it helped them find profitable work, then there was nothing to laugh at.

Dancing Bear: Helgar shuddered at the talk of burying companions. It had felt too good to be true that they had all survived for so long, when the same couldn't be said for the bandits that they had fought. She looked around, wondering who might be next, and not for the first time thinking about her injured kin. With her mug refilled, she raised it up, and said seriously "To your companions in the Shunned Valley."

Common Room: Helgar accompanied Ivar to deal with the horses, under the theory that a second pair of eyes and ears would help ensure that nobody took advantage of tehm. When this was done she happily joined the others at the table. "Stew. Bread. Ale." She said, being in the mood for something filling. Seeing Ivar looking at the wanted posters, she looked at him and said "So bounty hunting is next in our future? A fair bit of coin for it, by the looks of it. I'll see what I can find out about them from the bartender." Diplomacy to gather into: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

"Aye." Helgar said, without hesitation. "So long as I have the materials and the tools, I can make it. Would likely have to rent an anvil, but it could be done. And as for the materials, it really depends on what ye be looking for and how much coin is to be spent. Most people only think of the basics. Steel, cold iron, alchemical silver, mithril. But in larger cities, ye can find so much more! Blood crystal, for example, is perfect for daggers and knives. It draws blood out, so when stabbed or slashed with one? Well, ye get the idea. Cryptsone, on the other hand, is a favorite of priests and clerics, for it interrupts the magic that binds undead together. Elysian Bronze? Me Da worked that before. Couldn't imagine anyone using bronze in this day and age, but he said to me that monster hunters make use of it. He made it for man hunting a chimera. And there be liquid glass! Would need to go to me homeland for that one. Ye'd think a glass weapon would be foolish, aye? But it repairs itself! Blades that never go dull, hammers that never break. So long as they aren't actively repairing themselves, then they'll do more damage. And..." Realizing that she was talking far too much, her face flushed. Smithing was, afterall, her passion. Having finally had the chance to talk about it, she hadn't realized that she had started rambling.

Helgar nodded at Ivar's words. "I am glad that ye feel that way. It...hmm. How do I say it?" Looking off into the distance, she said "I've made many a weapon in me time. Of them, I've always felt somewhat guilty making swords. For an axe can cut wood, a hammer can be used to craft, a bow and a spear both can be used to hunt. To me, such weapons represent that fighting and killing is not, in and of itself, a good thing, though it can be. But swords? Swords are only made for killing. They have nay other purpose. It's why I don't like them." Turning to him, she continued "I am glad that ye aren't a sword." Then, listening to Ewan and smiled. And while she kept her peace, the look on her face said enough. ---- "A good idea for the silver blanches. If only I had the time I would make silver weapons for everyone. As is, me own hammer was forged with silver within it." She held it up. "At the time I thought that it was vanity, but it appears that it worked out in the end."

"Made a decent profit, all things considered. Think of it this way. A proper warhammer sells for, what? Twelve gold If I made one meself, it would cost four gold to make. To make it right would take a few days of work. And when selling it, most merchants would only pay about six gold for it, giving me just two gold profit for as many days working. Nay much in the way of profit, is it? Looting gear already made and selling it, well, fills up a purse much faster." In large part because pathfinder crafting rules are a dead end for most PCs

What worries me is that these visions are coming to us, and nay someone with more...well, power. Authority. Experience." She idly ran a hand across the top of her hammer as she talked.
