Ah, I looked in discussion for a DJ check and didn’t think to check recruitment. All good, let us know when permissions are fixed. Thanks again for the game.

Great news about your daughter!

No worries re: FJC, s’all good.

Thanks for the game, even if it ended horribly. PFS play to this point has not prepared me for that level of preparation. Usually I have pretty good prep for my PCs, covering a fair bit of possible difficulties we or my PC may face. But I’ve definitely never had to even consider buying pre-cast spells before going on a mission, but now I will at least consider it if circumstances warrant.

Thank you for the offer Pai K, but I don’t feel great soaking more resources up when everyone else has the same cost for recovery. Spend some of that gold expanding your scroll library to be able to handle some extra stuff that might pop up. Wizards can cast like… a billion different spells.

Hamish has spent a fair portion of his prestige for things (retraining two things and a chunk of purchases). But he still has some.

5 PP spent for Body Recovery
8 PP spent for 1/2 of Resurrection

And of course, he is JUUUUST a bit short on gold for the other half (only having about 2k currently), so will sell his Ring of the Grasping Grave for 1000g.

2450 Gold spent for the second half of the Resurrection

He will therefore enter his downtime/recovery period with two negative levels. And thus...

Day Job Perform: Percussion + MW Drums - 2 neg lvls: 1d20 + 15 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 15 + 2 - 2 = 30

Did we happen to complete either of the following FJC goals?

1) Participate in a magical or occult ritual during the course of an adventure.

2) Participate in an adventure that takes place on a demiplane.

This quick reference guide has all the Prestige Point costs and gold costs for things like resurrection and the restorations and the body recovery.

I am sure the GM will share some of the basics as to how it all will have to work as well.

Any distance modifiers apply on that perception check maybe? It was super close and I would definitely love to still be conscious. Could also not matter though if that attack was an AoE blast that would get me regardless of exact location. Just grasping at straws, really.

Remembering his clasp Hamish considers his options as the total darkness continues, Well… no reason staying here to die. Might as well make a run for it. Maybe I can circle around and help later.

The bard disappears from those that can see him, hopefully. His voice rings out, ”Our only hope is to flee into the fog.” He moves along the wall as far as he can.

Using a snapleaf to disappear (invisibility for five minutes). Then using bluff to pass a secret message (can’t fail DC 15) that he is actually fleeing away from the fog, not into it.

I think I have to tumble through the bottom elemental’s square, but should be able to move past everyone else. He will also use Stealth at just less than full speed to move as unobserved as possible, should get 65ft move. Putting end spot and start spot out there.

Stealth at more than half speed - ACP + invis + GH: 1d20 + 7 - 5 - 1 + 20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 - 5 - 1 + 20 + 2 = 33

Acrobatics - ACP + GH: 1d20 + 23 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 23 - 1 + 2 = 44

Edit to reduce my total move, miscalculated.

Hamish comments, ”If anyone is alive to direct me, I can help Mykel a little.”

And then he begins singing the group’s dirge.

”Though we walk through shadow,
We will not fear the end.
No we won’t fear the end,
For our cause is just.
If it ends today,
So be what may.”

If directed towards Mykel, he will move and try the restoration again. If not he will begin inspire courage and do something else with his standard. Either way he sings mournfully.

Alright, since few of us are talking in game, let's do this ooc. Firstly, only those with Darkvision can see, so a lot of our plans revolve around you pointing things out and/or doing things.

Option 1: Duke it out right here in the darkness. This would involve those that can see hopefully being able to take out some or most of the enemies. We have a couple casters with hopefully some AoE spells left, perhaps those could take out some enemies and even the battle. The rest of us could work to heal up the weakest or remove Con. I would probably reach out and use a feather on Mykel to remove his Con, or directly heal Pai K for a moderate amount. And maybe someone can get a non-magical light or sunrod going eventually.

Option 2: Leave. We activate our teleport rune tokens and zip back home. This probably means we lose some sort of reward, but alternatively if any or all of us die we will lose a lot more on recovery and resurrection. I am tempted to take this route as this does not currently seem very winnable with our lack of light. But I won't abandon y'all, unless y'all dead.

Option 3: Run Away, temporarily. Not ideal as the best fleeing route is back through the fog, which just does more Con Damage. And we will have to move slow or hit some acrobatics checks to move in the dark. And running through the thickest parts of the enemies would likely provoke a bunch of AoO's. And there is no reason our enemies couldn't easily follow us and keep attacking. The only possible benefit here is getting out of the darkness range so we can all see again, but the enemies might also just be able to cast that spell again...

Option 4: Something I haven't thought about.

I am not sure it is exactly a ‘counter or dispel’ kinda thing, more of a ‘nullify each other’ kind of thing. Which has the exact same effect. Deeper Darkness and Daylight, where the overlap, leave the light (as said) at the ambient light level.

There is a huge blog rules post about light and dark and spells and the such if we need to reference it.

What I want to know is the area of it. Can we move out of it and have daylight again? Otherwise most of us can’t see or do anything and thus, I think, are pretty much done. Even if we make some solid saves, we can’t soak that kinda AoO damage over and over, plus whatever the elementals do.

Heck, some of us may already drop from that last salvo.

Radiant Ruby Feathers: Your repair efforts were so successful that the phoenix guardians had extra magical energy left over, which they have gifed back to you in the form of a pair of feathers imbued with sparks of Hao Jin’s power. You can check a box that precedes this boon as a standard action to use one of the following spell-like abilities, gaining benefits based upon your level when you activate this boon. For any spell-like ability, use your character level
as your caster level.
Levels 1+: You can use a spell-like ability from the following list: burning hands, cure moderate wounds, or lesser restoration.
Levels 5+: Add cure serious wounds, fireball, and scorching ray to the list of spell-like abilities you can use.
Levels 9+: Add cure critical wounds, restoration, and wall of fire to the list of spell-like abilities you can use. If you use restoration to remove a permanent negative level, check both boxes.

It seems like that boon maaay actually be only a standard, regardless of the spell used.

We are already really low on spells I expect. At least Hamish is. I say we take a round to heal a little (maybe reset lifelink to those lowest on HP?) and then go after Krune together. I don't think he is that strong, personally. Just really good at summoning allies to do his dirty work. The more rounds we give him to do that the more impossible it is to get to him.

We definitely need to stick together though, at least in the daylight. Hopefully the shadow demons won't attack us again due to that but... so far my hopes have consistently been dashed in this scenario. :P

A dimension anchor woulda been incredible in this fight, but maybe he will just run out of those kinda spells and be forced to stay put.

Don't forget to check your boons and consumables. Hamish has a few Ruby Phoenix feathers that give him some high level spells. I could burn up to two Cure Critical Wounds from it, depending on what we need.

The half-elf narrows his eyes, searching the room before replying, "Wish I knew. I sprinted through that fog hoping they were here. Did you all see them? Cause there ain't nothing here, visible or invisible."

He calls out into the fog, "Any other pathfinders out there alive?"

Delaying for a brief moment and waiting to see if anyone responds. Also, GM, can Hamish see Teric and Mykel? They are on the edge of the cloud and at the top of the pyramid so I think that should make them visible, just at a 20% miss chance if attacked or attacking. Let me know, it'll definitely affect his action.

Also, there is like a 'portal' looking thing to the North end of this room. I looked back from when we came in and never saw it in the description. Is it the way we came in? Cause I recall we teleported, sorta. There was a ritual at least. Any clarification there or just a thing on the map?
