Perhaps we need one more blast by Pai S to crack the thing open? Or Mykel to cut it open.

"Break it open. We can't afford the Runelord to emerge at his convenience." Teric watches the sarcophogus intently, but then summons a cloud of mist around himself as he floats higher up the chamber.

Casting Obscuring Mist, trying just to envelope Teric and not impede the ground much. But at 20 foot radius, that might be difficult. Hopefully height helps.

Pai S blasts the sarcophagus again...

Mykel lands another adamantine chop, but finds that he's feeling increasingly sluggish. It just isn't worth the effort. Staggered.

Pai K starts working her devil-wand. One round cast time for Infernal Healing

Quiella takes the more wholesome route to mending her wounds.

And Teric shrouds himself, and all nearby, in a sorcerous fog of his own making. Ceiling is only 20' high, so there's no gap underneath.

Suddenly, a tattooed man appears next to the sarcophagus. He holds a dragon-tooth spear and a rune-carved rod. Runelord Krune!

Pai flies around ('cause it just got all cloudy in here for some reason) to get a better view of the guy who just flippin' *appeared* right next to the broken dead-thing box. "Dude! He doesn't look like a dead thing, which is good, but everything in here that's not on her team is a bad guy, so she gives him a welcoming blast of water. Maybe it'll wash off some of that ridiculous scribbling.

Mykel staggers forwards, and slashes the runelord!

The swordsman seems to recover from the slowing mist - for now.

Pai S adds insults to the injury of an unscheduled bath, battering Krune.

Pai K decides that keeping the team at top speed is the best strategy. The power of her Goz Mask lets her target her allies even through Teric's concealing mist.

Quiella evades the slothful mist and draws her reach weapon to threaten the runelord.

"Τολμάς να με χτυπήσεις? Εδώ στο δικό μου άδυτο?" Krune drawls, his demeanour calm and unflappable despite the blows that the pathfinders have struck.

"You dare to strike me? Here in my own sanctum?"

Krune releases his grip on his spear - which remains standing in place. The spear then angles towards Mykel, but it does not strike. Instead, arcane runes glow upon the spear, and Pai K's magic is undone. Spear cast Slow - Haste is dispelled. Krune works his own magic, and a mass of black tentacles bursts forth from the stone floor. Can't fail Defensive Casting DC.

I am thinking that the escape DC is 30 and the casting while grappled DC is also 30, if any of that is lower, let me know.

Ripping himself free he waves his hand and the flying grappled really having a hard time thinking Pai S is surrounded by a shimmering slick coating, ”If you get free, go get ‘em!”

"Oh that booping beeper! I thought he was the lord of sloths, not the lord of scardy cats!" Pai S. shrieks indignantly as Runelord Krune bamphs out after giving the group a really uncomfortable remote-tentacle-hug.

And then she feels *super* slippery.

Presumably that works.

She slips out with an audible *POP*. "Whoop! Wheee! Now where'd he go?" She flies around and looks all over the room for the bad guy, making sure to avoid the yucky black tentacles and trying to stay out of that mist that slowed down the guys earlier ('cause slow is boooorrrrriiiinnnngggg!). Size small, so GM ruling on whether she can avoid the mist by staying on the far side of her square.

Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23


The Waking Rune

30 is the correct DC for escaping the tentacle grapple. If you use CMB to attempt an escape (a standard action normally) then a natural 20 auto-succeeds, because you're making an attack roll. Nat 20 does not auto-succeed for Escape Artist (which is also a standard action normally).

ETA: I forgot to Bold you all. Ooops. Everyone may act! (except Hamish of course). I'll resolve all Round 1 actions before any from Round 2.

ETA 2 because I got gninja'd :) Consider the slowing mist to affect any square that appears to be more than 50% filled with the graphic representation. In your current square you are not affected Pai S.

Do note that re-entering the area of the Black Tentacles causes you to be subject to a grapple attempt again (although the spell keeps the same total CMB for one round). The ceiling is not high enough to allow you to fly over the tentacles. If you want to move somewhere else Pai S you can.

"He's not in the mist, I guarantee. He's likely to have teleported back to where we entered. Though, he could be in the corridor, so watch out." Teric sneers at the tentacles below. He waves a hand, trying to simply dismiss the magic.

Pai K and Mykel join Hamish and Teric in the eastern chamber. East is to the bottom of the map, South is to the left.

The strange blank archway occupies the eastern wall, and standing next to it is a pedestal with a bowl of small carved crystals within.

From the wall, three lights emerge. They glow with a soft radiance.

Knowledge (Planes) DC12:
These are Lantern Archons, outsiders that are both Lawful and Good.

DC17

Lantern archons are immune to electricity and petrification.

Spoiler:
Lantern archons resist weapon attacks that are not Evil. They are also somewhat resistant to poison and to evil effects.

DC27

Spoiler:
If 9 lantern archons join their powers they can form a gestalt entity with greater power. Lantern archons attack with light rays that pierce any resistance. Like other archons they emit a debilitating Aura of Menace that hampers enemies. -2 to hit, AC and to saves for 24 hours or until you hit the archon.

A lantern archon can cast Aid and Continual Flame at will.

One of the lights passes back into the wall briefly before returning, the lights then rise into the air - and fire piercing rays at Teric!

Earlier, Pai took the crystals, then you said you'd deal with that in a bit. I later mentioned that Pai had taken the crystals, since there was a lot going on and it's easy to forget that sort of thing. Does that matter right now?

Pai hears new voices, and they sorta seem nice, except one of them's using big words, which is kinda snooty, doncha know? Anyhoo, she toodles around the edge of the room, avoiding the gross mist and whatnot ('cause she's not *stupid*) and pokes her head into the eastern room. "Hi! I'm Pai! Which one o' ya was talkin' about tooters being laminated? 'Cause that's rude!" Then she sees a wisp of smoke rising off of Teric, and everybody's tense body language, and then she remembers that the only good guys here are the ones she came with, so she decides to zap one of the newbies to show 'em who's boss.

Pai notices that everyone's heading back to where they came in, like the team's all finished and stuff. So she zooms past Hamish and heads into the room where they entered and fought that flying lady-god-guardian-thing. She flies up to the top of the roof-thingy and calls out: "I'm king of the mountain! Ha!" Then she looks around.

Presumably the corpse is still where it dropped. Has anything changed about it? Is she otherwise alone in there?

Once Pai S gets through the doorway beyond the reach of Hamish's light, she can't see anything at all.

The entrance chamber is completely dark. Only Teric and Hamish have light sources. There was some ambient light from around the sarcophagus, and Hamish cast a Daylight spell in the ante-chamber to dismiss the Darkness spell previously cast by the Lashmistress.

Pai S, you may wish to adjust your position if you don't want to fly blind.

Hamish continues searching, ducking briefly into the entrance room to see if the evil 'violating the natural order of death' target is hiding there.

If not, he turns heel and heads back out into the corridor.

First move in red, second in blue if the enemy hasn't been discovered yet. If he has, his movement might adjust. By the way, Daylight is focused on Hamish's shield, not a spot in the antechamber.


The Waking Rune

You did specify on your shield earlier Hamish, my mistake.

Hamish sweeps into the entrance chamber, seeing the dead Herald at the foot of the ziggurat.

The ziggurat occupies the whole of the southern (left) end of the chamber, so following the Red line doesn't give you any vision beyond it. Do you want to follow the same route?

Pai S, what you might see will depend on where Hamish finishes up his movement - if you'd be left in the dark you'll be able to change your move.

She flies into the darkness, assuming everyone carrying lights is coming along right behind her. But Hamish just leaves again right away, abandoning her in the darkness. "Hey! Wait up!" She flies after Hamish, wondering what the heck he's up to. "Did you see something? What's going on?"

The people I mentioned all had enough damage for life link as of this post, when you said Quiella was up for round 1: https://paizo.com/campaigns/v5748p75ivmzj/gameplay&page=7#311
but I won't argue with you further than that; I'll just take your word for it.

Quiella heals Hamish 5hp again and then moves down the hallway to her left (East).

I moved her 50', one move action for Turin. If she sees nothing she'll go another 50', staying in the middle of the hallway except when she needs to avoid the yellow aura.

I think this moves most of the party out of her life link, unfortunately

Also, I did not see Pai K near Quiella's starting position

The Waking Rune

Quiella and Tùrin break north. They don't find any sign of Krune. The yellow grid in the northernmost corridor can be ignored - it's from Teric's obscuring mist which doesn't go through the walls.

Hamish jinks inside the ziggurat chamber, doesn't see anything other than the corpse of Kurshu, and leaves again, heading northeast. You appear to have plotted 60' moves Hamish but Haste got dispelled, I believe your speed is 40'.

Teric goes further, flying to the top of the ziggurat. He locates Krune on the other side, evidently mid-cast, though he makes no sound.

Okay, I've double moved Mykel towards Teric on the assumption that Teric shouts a warning. I'm going to roll Perception for Pai K, if she passes the DC she can head towards Teric, otherwise she should move towards Qiuella per her post. Pai S you can positon yourself at the top of the ziggurat anywhere near Teric, that would be a double move I believe. I'll also roll for the other distant PCs.

Haste was recast right when we started fighting Krune. Everyone should have it except the PC that got it dispelled by the spear.

Edit: My bad, misread the post about that. The way it was written made me think only Mykel's haste was dispelled, not all of ours. But I see it was probably all of ours.
