Checking for life.

Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Tom watches the interaction, but does not get involved.

Sense Motive 1d20 ⇒ 10

Just a heads up, I will be out of town again this weekend, so no posts Saturday or Sunday. Probably not until Monday evening. This should be the last trip I taked for at least a month or two.

We were told the cloak is a Cloak of Resistance, though no one actually identified it.

"Eastward sounds as good as any direction to me."

Tom looks at the gore left behind by the creature trying to sneak out, and retches a little bit. "Remind me to stay out of the way of you sword.

Tom begins to look around the room as well.

[ooc]Perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Tom sees the creature trying to pass by, and casts Black Motes.

dmg 1d4 ⇒ 2

Reflex 14 to negate.

Tom looks into the room and sees nothing. Hmmm, I wonder...

He casts Dancing Lights and moves the lights into the room.

I am leaving on vacation tomorrow, so I won't be posting from tomorrow through the weekend. I may be able to post Monday night, but not sure just yet. If we get into combat by then, and you need to NPC me, go ahead.

Maybe we should try to keep the noise to minimum. One flying head is enough for one day.

As tom sees the thing come into view, he lets loose a bullet at the creature.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
1d3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Tom will ready his sling to make an attack once the creature is in his line of sight.

Tom sees the others begin to sneak down the hallway, and decides to wait until he hears the all clear, or until it seems like they might need his help.

Tom considered their options. I agree that we should go through forward. I bet there is another way down there if we continue through.

Spellcraft check to determine school of magical aura
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Knowledge (arcana) is not one of my skills. How about a Spellcraft check?

The statues closest to us are giving off magical energy. Let me see if I can get anything else from them.

Tom focuses on the the SSE statue to see if he can discern anything about the magical aura.

Hmm. Let me see if there is any magic in this room.

Tom casts Detect Magic and slowly begins scanning the room.

Checking in.

I think I've read too much Order of the Stick. I really have this desire to say Hey guys, I think I may have failed a perception check.

Fifthed and finaled. Wait, is finaled a word?

Spiders. Ich, nasty creatures. Especially when they're trying to eat you.

Tom also searches the room thoroughly.

Perception1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Tom will use his sling against the spider in front of Nichelle if it is still standing. If not, he will aim at the one in front of Alexi, if that one is not standing, he will delay his attack.

Attack 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Dmg 1d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Tom uses uses his minute meteors on the spider at the end of the hall.

dmg1d4 ⇒ 3

It's working for me now. Maybe the site's server went down for a few minutes.

The link to the map you posted today isn't working.

I suppose now is as good a time as any. Tom walks up to the northen door, and rings the chime. As soon as the door begins to open, he will move back towards the way they entered.

If we can't find a way to open these dang doors, I will use the chime on whichever one.

Hmmm. I believe it is some sort of riddle. Based on the riddle, I would think we need to take the passage to the right. Or maybe left. No I think it is the right. As far as opening the doors, there is the chime that we were given.

Tom shivered at the thought of that thing that had attacked them. I hope that creature doesn't make a reappearance on our way out. He contemplates Azrim's suggestion. Well, I suppose straight is as good as any. This time, though I'd prefer not to be in the back. I mean, I don't even have any armor on me.

Tom looks at the strange creature dropping towards him and lets out a yelp. He draws his quarterstaff and takes a swing.

Attack1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

Tom was preparing to light his lantern, but Alexi does do first. He decides that one lantern is enough for now, and who knows how long this will take, so might need another in the future. He places the lantern in his backpack, looks back, and realizes he is now last in line. Well it shouldn't matter for the trip down the stairs at least.

He stays as close to Alexi as he can without stepping on him.

I have two flasks of alchemist's fire handy if needed. I believe that I am ready to enter the crypts if everyone else is.

Tom ignores Gaius, and greets the Tengu. Reeza, I will give your charm to your friends if we cross paths, if not, I will return it to you at my earliest convenience. I would like to purchase a lantern and some oil from you.

These items will most definitely be useful. My thanks. I will agree to this job as long as all agree, for I would not want to venture into the crypts unaccompanied.

Tom considers the proposal carefully. "That is a very generous offer. In my current monetary state, one I am loath to forego. Are there any known dangers which we can prepare for ahead of time?"

I'm not sure about any assignment, but I did receive this note. He pulls out the letter he received. It's fairly vague, but I believe we shall find its meaning shortly

Tom read the note for the third time since receiving it in the market this morning. "I only just arrived in the city yesterday, Surely, this must be for someone else. Maybe I shouldn't have displayed my magic so brazenly. Well, I can certainly use the money, and the adventure. Nothing better to keep the bleaching away."

Tom arrived shortly after 11:30 noting that he was the first. He began making a necklace from some beads he had found lying around the market. Being of short stature had some advantages. As the group arrived, he thought it quite strange that none was human, though the last to arrive was close.

I hope it is the group of us myself. Numbers are usually advantageous.

I checked everything over, and I just had to remove a trait, and adjust some wealth related stuff, luckily it didn't make me buy any less gear.

I'm out of town. I should be able to do a real post tomorrow.

I'd like to ad Hallingtom Gemlofter for your consideration. I created him for another PBP for the same game, so I can make changes to the configuration if necessary.

Hallingtom "Tom" Gemlofter, Gnome Sorcerer for your consideration.
