![]() /Hi guys, Now that I'm more settled in the region (moved in Jan from Europe), I'm actively looking for a game around Ottawa. My preferences go to PF or 3.5, but I'm opened to any other game if the group is cool and willing to take in a newcomer. I'm 33, French native but I'm fluent in English, and I've been gaming for the last 20 years, D&D, Pendragon, WFRP, Cthulhu, etc... I love playing, but I love DMing too. I'm free most evenings and weekends. I like all kinds of gaming styles, but my natural prefence would go towards well constructed adventures, and exploration/intrigue. Mind you, a good dungeon crawl is fun too! Contact me guys! Thanks :) ![]()
![]() Hi guys, Another silly question, apologies if it had already been answered before. Some combat feats require a high BAB (ex: Critical Focus, BAB +9), does that mean that a 7th level fighter with a BAB of +7/+2 can take this feat, or does he have to wait until he hits level 9 when his full BAB hits +9? Confused me. ![]()
![]() Hi guys, I'm currently planning my next campaign, and I am going to import the excellent Price of Immortality campaign arc into the Realms. Here are some of my picks for important locations General campaign set around the Moonsea/Vast and the Pirate isles
My biggest challenge is finding or creating a Faerunian equivalent for Razmir. Who could that be? Where could the center of the cult be located? Any idea folks? ![]()
![]() Hi all, I have a simple house rule for armor damage that maybe some of you have already tried in one way or another. Very simple and easy to keep track of, since that doesn't create additional stats or anything. Basically, every time a character goes down, his armor loses 1 point of AC, to reflect the damage suffered that caused the character to go down. For magic armor, I let the wearers roll a save (Fort or Ref). It is obviously possible to repair the armor, more power to those who put ranks in Craft like that! Let me know what you think. ![]()
![]() Hey guys, I'm a bit confused with the cumulation of high BAB and two-weapon fighting. Say we have a 6th level fighter with a BAB of +6/+1, holding a longsword and a shortword with the 2WP Feat. His STR bonus is +3, giving us +9/+4 total. So if this fighter strikes during a full-round action at an enemy, does that mean that he gets 4 attacks total (2 for longsword, 2 for shortsword) or only 1 additional attack due to 2nd weapon. If last case scenario, what bonus should you apply to the attack? Thanks for the clarification! ![]()
![]() Hi folks, I have the opportunity to purchase the 3rd ed Living Greyhawk Gazeteer, and I wanted to have the humble opinion of Greyhawk's veterans on this one. Is it any good? Will I have enough to have a better idea of Greyhawk as a world, its history, its intrigues, etc...? I'm asking cause I know very little about Greyhawk apart from the basic stuff, and playing the TOEE back in the day, and that would be my first real encounter with the world. So any feedback is welcome! Thanks a mil ![]()
![]() Hi folks, I am looking to create a new gaming group in and around Dublin, Ireland. I play and DM 3.5/Pathfinder, but also happen to have and love Call of Cthulhu, Pendragon, and Warhammer. Ideally, I'd like to have 4 players max, who like storytelling and epic campaigning as much as roll-playing and munchkinism. More of a storyteller/creator myself, but I like strategy and XP as much as anybody else. I'd like to be able to play twice per month, within a motivating and creative environment. I am also very interested in joining an established group looking for a player if you have a spot available around your table. By the way, I'm 31 years old, been gaming since the early 90's, don't smoke, don't drink (much), and generally I am a nice and friendly fellow. I'm from France (no, I don't use my hands when I play football...and I never play football anyway), but settled here for the last 5 years. Feel free to drop me a message or reply to the thread, I'm sure there are plenty of people around! See ya Note: I posted the same add on the general forum as well, but thought that since its for PF, I'll post it here as well too. Feel free to move or close if not cool. ![]()

![]() Hi all, Dunno if you experienced the same problem at some point, but my RPG group is currently on the verge of dying after 4/5 years of great gaming and less than memorable moments, and I don't really know what to do. Let me explain: we started playing together around 2005 on a regular basis, and at the time the campaign was going strong, with the usual small casting changes from time to time (nucleus of the group has stayed very consistent over the years however). Experienced D&D players, with a good knack for roleplaying as much as roll-playing, I truely had a blast as a DM, and the players were very complimentary about the campaign. We were playing regularly (2/month) with the occasional break due to summer and christmas holidays. Then one of the players went back to his native country, and the group atmosphere started to change a little bit - it was one year and a half ago. Bickering and rule-lawyering made its apparition at our table, with one of the players really heavy onto passed gaming experiences, etc... while playing. To counter the boredom and start something new, we started playing one-shots with different systems, and the D&D campaign died out, with several attemtpted replacements that didnt hold up the attention of the group long enough so abandonned (my fault as much as the players). We have recently started a new D&D campaign after nearly a 3-4 month break (I mean total break, no gaming whatsoever during that time), and I'm back to DMing, after our newest player DMed a few games (quite fun and cool). Problem is last game was an awful experience, with one player even telling me that the new setting I chose is a "shithole" (I'm still mad, same guy who breaks the game with his gaming memories), and not even bothering making adjustements to his character (we converted from 3.5 to 3P). For 7 hours, it was a constant fest of solo roleplaying without sense, 0 teamwork and "look at me to see how it's done" from the most vocal players to the shier ones. The adventure was not the greatest either, but I mean we truely didnt have a good time AT ALL. In the end, group discussed all the bad points about the adventure, and we decided to meet again in two weeks time. Today, 2 players have sent me an email to cancel, and two guys just litterally wrote me that "if we play, cool, if not WOW is cool too". I know it may sound stupid, but I'm a bit disgusted right now, and with the bad blood that has accumulated over the last year, I am at crossroads now. The quality in gaming has decreased constantly over the last year, and I realised that apart from gaming, we strangely dont' have that much in common, never go out for drinks, etc... I put a lot of love and energy into my games, come up with nice handouts, campaign diaries, etc... while the players have as of last year forgotten the rules, background, forgot their sheets, and generally dont seem interested in playing or putting the efforts in good gaming. As a result, I am increasingly frustrated and annoyed, as I'd love to enjoy good games, good fun, and also play whenever possible, not like my players feel like it! So what do you think I should do? Help me guys, your feedback will be most helpful. ![]()
![]() Hi folks, I am currently planning the next adventure of my group, and I might need some expert help, as I find myself stuck between too many ifs and whys... The basic idea is that I am using the Forge of Fury (WOTC module) as the final dungeon of a small campaign I crafted, and I have altered the context of this standard dungeon to fit my story. Basically, story is that the black dragon is controlling the orcs and the duergars and waging war on the nearby land. He is gathering more and more orcish reinforcements in preview of the coming war season - around 1000 orcs are currently garrisoned in or around the dungeon (majority in a camp nearby). Oh yeah, its currently winter, so the war has halted. The characters, hired by a weapon's collector who is extremely interested in the craft of Durgeddin, follow the trail of the smith's weapons all the way to a human fort built to protect the lands from the foes of the dungeon. One big assault organized by the dragon is unleashed on the fort, to shake up the pressure of the human protectors, and there is a big , cool battle. Taking advantage of the chaos, the collector's son ( who is bored with the merchant world of his dad, and would like to be a hero), decides to follow the orcs all the way back to their base, to see where it is and bring back the info to the fort. Unfortunately, he is captured by the orcs, and now the characters have to save his a** and enter the forge. So, as you can see, if you know the Forge of Fury, the context is quite altered. My problem is I still can't visualise how to make the dungeon (bog standard in the module) into the military stronghold it's turning into. As well, as soon as the characters will get in and slaughter the orcs there, how is it possible not to have the 1000 other orcs joining their comrades and kicking the a** of the poor characters. Any idea will be most welcome guys. |
