Thank you for getting us this far, Tim. I wish you luck in dealing with your real-life events!

While Gounar has never studied moss specifically, he has sure seen lots of it while travelling around these parts. He tries to recall any patterns about it, and seems to remember that it often grows on northern parts of tree trunks.

Welcome back. I may have issues with posting daily, but otherwise ready to proceed.

I'm fine with the GM rolling Init going forward

Init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Assuming Gounar can actually reach the creature on his turn
Gounar recovers from the surprise and centers himself, gathering his inner energies to stop the hostile creature.
Atk: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Dmg: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Stunning Fist DC13

Ooh, a crit! I hope it's not wasted...
Confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Crit Dmg: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Sorry guys, the game dropped from my radar for a while (the dot disappeared and RSS was broken), and then I didn't have any time for a few days. I'm getting back now.

"The Elder Tree..."

Gounar stops and eyes it for a moment, feeling like he is absorbing some sort of mystical vibrations coming from this monument of nature.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Gounar backs Thorid in his drive to push on. He is also keeping an eye on their prisoner. Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 until Bollon is able to summon a mount to carry him away.

Gounar looks at the Cavalier a bit worriedly. "There is no doubt that the hobgoblin was a cowardly killer. But we - we are not. We removed the threat and this is what matters, not taking his life."

Once the emotions have calmed down a bit, he calls for everyone to continue the journey.

Gounar takes a step back and raises an eybrow. "First, tell me what was your need to take on obviously superior foes like us. The game is more plentiful farther away from humans. I don't want you to bring backup once we let you go, or to continue harassing the locals."

As it becomes clear that the hunter does not intend to surrender, Gounar charges towards him with a surprising speed, almost rivalling that of a wolf.
Hold. he says with his first step.
Your. he adds, closing in, preparing his body for the decisive strike.
Fire. is the last word which is spoken simultaneously with Gounar's fist shooting towards a point on the hunter's body where the nerves pass closest to the skin.
Charging unless Ki's wolf blocks the path, and using Stunning Fist.
Atk: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 2 = 15 (-2 if charge is not allowed)
Dmg: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Stun DC12

Init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12

You made a mistake, hunter. We are no prey!

Sorry I intended to actually put something IC in the last post but the boards went down as I hit Edit.
Blissfully unaware of any disturbances, Gounar comments:
"This is the lake I've told you about. Since we don't have a boat, let's find a way around it. Hey, where is everyone going?"

Upon seeing the captured fox, Gounar shrugs. "Hunters might be more dangerous to us than wild animals. I'd rather leave the prey alone, and leave the man with his furs and meat. Also, there might be more of the traps around, so we should be on the lookout for them."
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

After a short spell of slumber, Gounar wakes up rested and full of energy, as usual. He does a series of strange stretching and aerobic moves, breathing very deeply and slowly, before shaking his head vigorously and smiling.
"I can go up front and direct you to the Elder Tree."
Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Geography: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

What Kestrel said. Still here and waiting for DB to advance the time.

If anyone here is interested in running a campaign, I am in a Serpent's Skull campaign with pretty good players. We were about 3 weeks in and then the DM just switched the campaign to inactive and said he did not want to deal with the issues. Issues that we have all seen a dozen times on PbP. If anyone is interested, or know someone who wants to DM a Serpent's Skull campaign, please let me know.

Here is the OOC thread for the now inactive campaign.

Serpent's Skull

We have a mwangi elf wizard, a vanara ranger, a human cleric (me), and a human bard(archeologist). If someone wants to take over, we can play with 4 players, this group is decently balanced I think, or pick up 1-2 more.

As I said, we had only played for about a month, so very little has happened and we could easily restart if necessary.

"I do not feel sleepy yet. I will take the dusk watch and spend it in meditation upon nature."

Gounar nods in acceptance and exits the tent, awaiting the group outside.

"We were actually just passing through and wanted to warn you that next year you may not have enough crew unless we find a cure for the plague ravaging the town", Gounar says sheepishly. He glances at his group mates, slightly accusingly, as if trying to say 'told ya!'

Gounar shrugs but doesn't object.

Time is of the essence and I'm not tired yet. I can press on, unless you think the darkness will hinder us too much.
DM - how long from the camp to the Tree on foot?

Gounar listens to the Thorid's conversation with great interest, but his interest seems to lie not in the subject, but in the dwarf himself.
"Highly unusual to see a dwarf so interested in trees. I thought your kind loves the stone much more. No offense."

Gounar is ready
Know: local (untrained): 1d20 ⇒ 15
"There is a steady flow of lumber carts going out in the direction of Darkmoon forest. If we give some coin to the lumberjacks we could hitch a ride.
There is also a river crossing our path. If we can somehow get a boat our journey will be shorter, but I don't know how where we could find one. Perhaps we will end up spending more time searching for it than on taking the longer path."

Know: Geography: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
w00t! Do I have to make separate checks for every location?
EDIT: following Bollon's example
Know: Geography: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Know: Geography: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
"That's very fortunate Bollon! I have not been to the Dwarven monastery, but in my travels around the Darkmoon Forest I've heard about the other two locations. The Eldertree is somewhat of a local landmark, about a day's trip from here. And the lumberjacks were so scared of this Ulizmila that everyone seemed to know the exact location they should avoid. It's just several hours north of here."

Gounar raises his hand.
"I'll skip a mount, thanks. I promise I'm not going to be a burden. Besides, I doubt I've got enough money to pay for one."

Gounar just stands there, observing the surroundings and the apothecary herself very carefully, even somewhat awkward, as if he wants to memorize every detail of this place forever. It's hard to say what's going on in his mind, but he seems to be awaiting her reply to Kestrel's question.

Gounar follows the pretty ranger inside, greeting the apothecary with a smile and a nod as he comes in.

The tall smiling fellow stands up again and speaks softly:
"If I may be useful in getting the cure, I'll help. It's better than passively sitting here waiting for someone to bring it."

A tall, lightly-dressed man with a fair complexion and a permanent soft smile affixed to his face approaches the queue.
"You're all wating to come inside the Roots and Remedies?" he asks no-one in particular. Realizing this might have been a stupid thing to say aloud, he picks up a string of grass and puts it in his mouth, sitting down right there on the earth, looking quite relaxed.

Sorry for the delay, got some troubles preventing me from showing up in time.
That said, I have seen games which started with 50+ posts per day, only to dissolve in a week. I post slow, but steady. Hope it's okay.

Are monks treated as automatically proficient in APG monk weapons?
Can I choose an eastern monk weapon (such as a kusarigama) as a bonus proficiency from the Wanderer archetype?

Stepping in with a freshly created alias, yet to be finished.

Gounar Jadeknuckle firmly believes that the key to winning a fight is to deliver one blow more than you take.

No traits/background just yet, need to familiarize myself with the setting a bit more.

This is flykiller posting as Bur-Suen, the hermit monk. Most of the crunch is in the profile now.
Still some things to work out - mainly where to spend approx. 990 leftover gp :D A detailed background will follow upon your feedback on the concept from the previous post.
