==FEATS==
Power Attack (Combat):
You can make exceptionally deadly melee attacks by
sacrificing accuracy for strength.
Prerequisites: Str 13, base attack bonus +1.
Benefit: You can choose to take a –1 penalty on all
melee attack rolls and combat maneuver checks to gain
a +2 bonus on all melee damage rolls. This bonus to
damage is increased by half (+50%) if you are making
an attack with a two-handed weapon, a one handed
weapon using two hands, or a primary natural weapon
that adds 1-1/2 times your Strength modif ier on damage
rolls. This bonus to damage is halved (–50%) if you are
making an attack with an off-hand weapon or secondary
natural weapon. When your base attack bonus reaches
+4, and every 4 points thereafter, the penalty increases
by –1 and the bonus to damage increases by +2. You must
choose to use this feat before making an attack roll, and
its effects last until your next turn. The bonus damage
does not apply to touch attacks or effects that do not deal
hit point damage.

Toughness:
You have enhanced physical stamina.
Benefit: You gain +3 hit points. For every Hit Die you
possess beyond 3, you gain an additional +1 hit point. If you
have more than 3 Hit Dice, you gain +1 hit points whenever
you gain a Hit Die (such as when you gain a level).

Intimidating Prowess (Combat):
Add Str modifier to Intimidate checks in addition to Cha

Cleave (Combat):
You can strike two adjacent foes with a single swing. As a standard action, you can make a single attack at your full base attack bonus against a foe within reach. If you hit, you deal damage normally and can make an additional attack (using your full base attack bonus) against a foe that is adjacent to the first and also within reach. You can only make one additional attack per round with this feat. When you use this feat, you take a –2 penalty to your Armor Class until your next turn.

Weapon Focus- Battleaxe (Combat:
You gain +1 on all attack rolls using the selected weapon.

==CHARACTER TRAITS==
Courageous: Your childhood was brutal, yet you
persevered primarily through force of will and the hope
that no matter how hard things might get, as long as you
kept a level head you’d make it through. You gain a +2
trait bonus on saving throws against fear effects.

Noble Born: You claim a tangential but legitimate
connection to one of Brevoy’s noble families. You’ve had a comfortable life, but one far from the dignity and decadence your distant cousins know. Although you are associated with an esteemed name, your immediate family is hardly well to do, and you’ve found your name to be more of a burden to you than a boon in many social situations. You’ve recently decided to test yourself, to see if you can face the world without the aegis of a name you have little real claim or care
for.

Hill Fighter: You are used to fighting in hilly
environments (Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook 427–428). You
may run or charge downhill on a steep slope (moving up
to your base speed) without making an Acrobatics check
to avoid stumbling—but if you travel farther than this
distance, the normal rules for steep slopes apply.

Mercenary Training: Training with Sasha, +1 bonus to all iniiative checks

Poetry Reading: +1 bonus to will saves Vs compulsion effects due to Aerys reading her epic poem

==CLASS ABILITIES==
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: simple and martial weapons and with all armor (heavy,light, and medium) and shields (including tower shields).

Bonus Feats: At 1st level, and at every even level thereafter,
a fighter gains a bonus feat in addition to those gained
from normal advancement

Bravery (Ex): Starting at 2nd level, a fighter gains a +1
bonus on Will saves against fear. This bonus increases by
+1 for every four levels beyond 2nd.

Armor Training (Ex): Starting at 3rd level, a fighter
learns to be more maneuverable while wearing armor.
Whenever he is wearing armor, he reduces the armor
check penalty by 1 (to a minimum of 0) and increases the
maximum Dexterity bonus allowed by his armor by 1. Every
four levels thereafter (7th, 11th, and 15th), these bonuses
increase by +1 each time, to a maximum –4 reduction of the
armor check penalty and a +4 increase of the maximum
Dexterity bonus allowed.

==RACE ABILITIES==
Human Racial Traits
+2 to One Ability Score: Human characters get a +2 bonus to one ability score of their choice at creation.

Normal Speed: Humans have a base speed of 30 feet.

Bonus Feat: Humans select one extra feat at 1st level.

Skilled: Humans gain an additional skill rank at first level and one additional rank whenever they gain a level.

Languages: Humans begin play speaking Common.

==DESCRIPTION==
Age: 25
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 225
Hair: Brown

Spending his youth in a mountainous area, Gothard has grown tall and strong in no small part to his love for mountain climbing. After spending so many hours outdoors his skin is deeply tanned but also scarred from numerous falls and other mishaps. He wears his hair a medium length and keeps a short beard. This helps add to his image as a physically imposing person, but does sometimes work against him as people expect him to have a temper to match his stature.

Gothard is far from being an idiot and his love for climbing has allowed him a great deal of time to reflect on his life and his viewpoints; however, it has also allowed him a great deal of time to convince himself that he is right.

Although not necessarily lacking in social skills, Gothard lacks patience for people especially when he sees a need for action. As result, he states his mind bluntly caring little for what others think and they in turn see him as unfriendly. Due to his lack of patience and willingness to see things from a different perspective Gothard does not always do things in a way that other people see as right, but he is firm in his belief that he always does the right thing and that is enough for him.

==BACKGROUND==

Gothard refuses to say much about his past; rumors persist that he is related to a prominent family located far away, but Gothard steadfastly refuses to confirm or deny the truth of those rumors. Unbeknown to his companions that rumors are true and Gothard's last name is actually Garess, but he changed it to his current form to hide his true identity. He chose his new name simply because his fathers name was Piers.

Gothard carries with him a battered wooden shield, scale armor, and battleaxe all of which have obviously seen many battles. Underneath the scars and gouges of the shield is a faded Valknut, a symbol which also is present on his armor. When pressed, Gothard will only say that the symbol represents the warriors who have come before him and fallen while fighting for what they believe in. He is very protective of his weapons and refuses to let his companions so much as touch his equipment. Although he will never say it directly, there is a sense that they somehow are a significant part to the past he refuses to share.

As a result of his physical strength, which he takes great pride in, Gothard is quick to lead the charge into battle seemingly wanting to be the first to prove himself superior. Some call him courageous, while others call him simply foolish; however, they are wise enough to say that out of earshot.

After leaving his homeland, Gothard traveled the world ultimately arriving in Sargava on the Jenivere after hearing of the need in the region for disciplined warriors. Although initially excited by the prospects of having such an intimidating presence as part of their garrison, the commander has now asked Gothard to depart due to his secretive nature.
