Savonarola shakes his head. "A hellhound would be less of an issue. The hellcat summoning trap, on the other hand, will be problematic. It sounds like this place is thoroughly trapped, and warded; I am glad that we are acquiring as much advance intelligence as we can, before heading in..."
Savonarola nods. "Certainly."
He then helps to methodically search the bodies of the defeated nuns.

Savonarola steps over the corpse of one of the nuns, and attacks the final one.
Savonarola attempts, patiently, to finish-off his nun.
Savonarola sighs in annoyance, and tries to finish off the wounded Nun.
With a frown, Savonarola attempts to finish off the injured nun.
Savonarola heads down the stairs, and stabs at one of the women who are still off-guard.
With a shrug, Girolamo attempts to lock the door.
Savonarola calmly shuts the door in the elemental's face.
Savonarola moves forward into the other room.
Girolamo plucks at the strands of fate that bind the elemental to this world, clouding its ability to perceive its foes.
He then 5' steps NW of his current position , and cackles.
Giro shakes his head. "I can make it slightly more difficult for it to hit us, and/or easier for us to hit it; beyond that, I really need to melee it."
Girolamo stands just outside the door, ready to close it. "Alright then. Get out whilst you can, and I'll close the door!"
Savonarola stares hard at the fire elemental, attempting to unweave the strands of fate that bolster its defenses.
He then starts to cackle.
Savonarola raises an eyebrow at the sudden appearance of a gigantic blob of living flame, but doesn't let that break his calm. He then moves into the room for a tactically better position.
With a sigh, Savonarola makes a casual flicking gesture towards the Sister with his hand, as if he is manipulating multiple strands of thread, then squeezes his fist together, as if crushing them. He then starts to cackle.
Savonarola simply shrugs, and attempts to unlock the door; for a split second, it looks like there are two of him, but then the moment passes.
Savonarola raises an eyebrow. "If we think they might be fans, shouldn't we let 'Raveen' do the knocking? That said, I agree, religious sisters tend to not make the best patrons of the arts..."
Savonarola nods. "Indeed. It sounds like, in the interest of efficiency, it would be prudent to check-out the Massacre House, whilst we await the main event..."
I can use Scrolls of Lesser Restoration; the three round casting time, of course, makes use in combat problematic.
Savonarola nods thoughtfully, leaning on his cenobite christmas tree. "I agree, we should get started on this, as soon as we can. I am sure that if we are investigating this, other forces will almost certainly be doing the same thing, so it would probably be best to try and sort things out, before we are noticed..."
Savonarola strokes his chin thoughtfully. "In that case, we should probably track down the corpses (or what is left of them) ourselves; they might be able to provide valuable intel that could aid us in our quest. I agree that finding out as much as we can about Delvehaven and any defenses that it might have ahead of time is a very good idea - anything strong enough to scare off / keep out the Chelish government, is definitely worthy of respect. That said, I also agree we should investigate the papers more thoroughly..." He then moves to do exactly that, going over the documents as Lorelei finishes with them.
Savonarola nods thoughtfully. "Regardless, I agree, those wands are probably worth hanging onto, and I can indeed use them." He then turns to Lorelei. "What did you find sifting through the notes?"
Next one was likely going to be Misfortune, then Flight; thereafter, I was looking at Major Hexes, with Agonize topping my list.
@Richard: I can just use wands, since the spells are on my spell list. @Castor: I took the level in Ex-Cleric for (mostly) thematic reasons - it seemed appropriate for the character (and the Luck domain never hurt anybody!). Moving forward, I was planning to take more levels in Sylvan Trickster, to maximise the number of tasty Witch Hexes that I can take.
Surprised the first time device 'goes off', Savonarola is, for the most part, able to avoid damage thereafter. When it eventually opens, he shrugs when he sees the screaming head, filing it under 'to be sorted out later'. He then casts Read Magic, in order to identify the scrolls.
Savonarola nods towards the device. "May I...?" After muttering a brief prayer for Guidance, he then tries to open it.
If that doesn't work, I will keep trying until it does...:

Savonarola shrugs. "I made no bargains, no pacts, nor any promises. For the longest time, there was simply an abyss of nothingness, of metaphysical loneliness... and then there was power again. Different, it is true, from what I had had before, but power nonetheless. As I have said, I don't think it is a conscious entity, at least as we would define it; more of a Force of Reality. The abilities that I have now are simply... different, focused upon warping probability, and granting others a glimpse of the void (which renders them catatonic for a time). There is no beneficence, nor intrinsic malfeasance inherent to this power; nor is there any Good, or Evil. It simply is." He then sighs. "As to what I want? I have struggled for many years to try and leave this world a better place than when I entered it... but over the decades, I have seen it slide further and further into chaos, evil, and madness. I would reverse that if I could, but I lack the necessary hubris to believe that I am important enough to do so. Instead, I would settle for helping to change the course of Westcrown's fate." A wistful look crosses his face. "When Aroden was alive, this place was a beacon of hope... but with his death, that light flickered, and failed. I would see it become a beacon again!"
Savonarola shakes his head vigorously. "What? No! I would never dream of that! I value my immortal soul more highly than that, and have no desire to become some evil outsider's latest plaything, or chew-toy." He then sighs. "It is... difficult to describe. Suffice it to say, some force took an interest in a bereft vessel that was used to channeling power. In and of itself, it is not a Power, precisely, as far as I can tell; it has never explained its motives, or its desires, and I am not even sure that it has them. I simply tend to think of it as the silent personification of the Void, a piece of the Universe itself..." Savonrola smiles mirthlessly. "Rather apt for someone who lost the central focus of his life. To put it simply, when I die, I expect to end up in the same void of non-existence as my former deity; this life is the only one that matters, for there will be no other for me. True, I could always avoid this by dedicating myself to another, but that would be doing the memory of Aroden a disservice, and I do not believe that I deserve such a reprieve. Instead, I focus on doing what I can to improve this world, so that I will leave some kind of legacy."
An elderly, weather-beaten half-elf, clad in a simple black robe with gold trim and a white collar, cut in a style that has been out of fashion for nearly a century, approaches the others. Around his neck is a holy symbol depicting a winged eye, made from adamantine... but it is blackened, as if it has been scorched by fire. Although clearly weak, he is nonetheless still quite sprightly, moving with a grace that belies his obviously advanced years, tapping the butt-end of a strange spear (the business-end of which is festooned with many small branches, tipped with silver blades), on the ground as he goes. His eyes, however, are still clear, and sparkle with a deep intelligence. He nods to Arael. "Thank-you for agreeing to meet with me. I must admit, when Aroden died, a large part of both me, and the city as a whole, died with him... which is what allowed the Shadows to creep in. I thought for sure that what you and yours were trying to do was a fool's errand, ultimately doomed to failure; for after all, if even the Gods can die, what hope do we mere mortals have to change the course of history? I am pleased to see that I was wrong. If there is anything that I can do to assist you, please let me know; much of my divine power passed on with Aroden, but over the years, I have found... other ways to channel my talents, some of them in very useful ways." The Half-elf then smiles mirthlessly. "After all, if you spend decades staring (and screaming) into the abyss, something is bound to take notice..." He then turns to the other party members, and bows. "Greetings. I used to be known as Father Girolamo, Cleric of Aroden, but that was back before your parents were a gleam in their parents' eyes, back when I had a flock with mentioning, and my own unwavering faith, something which the death of your God tends to shake rather fiercely. These days, I am mostly known as Savonarola."
