Background:
When I was young I was so excited to join the military, I never knew how gruesome it could be.
It seems strange looking back on how much I enjoyed it. Early in my career it was pretty
clear was a cut above the rest. Eventually I was drafted into an assassination unit. They
honed my skills into an even sharper point. That is where I met my best friend and spotter
"Tech" Iony. We were a pretty unstoppable Ysoki combo. We had 24 kills under our belt before
we got the mission that would change our lives forever. A hit order on a high ranking Golden
Grin member. During the mission we had some bad intel and our position was compromised. After
a short debate instead of retreating and missing our chance we decided to continue with the
mission. We were successful in the execution however we were quickly overrun. After escaping
by the skin of our teeth we learned that we were identified during the firefight. With that
information the assassination unit decided that even though we were successful in our mission,
the fact that we were made means we had to go into hiding until they believe it is safe for us
to return. To that end the "Unit" sent me to the Glotfree Mining Company. They figure hiding me
under the nose of the enemy would be the best idea. The only connection I have to the "Unit" is
my handler, a Vesk codename Venter. I haven't met him yet but I hope he is at least tolerable.
The thing I think I'll miss most about my old life is I don't get to live with my mom anymore.
Oh well, people have to leave eventually anyway. Still gonna need to send her back some credits
every now and again.

I stay steel nerved in the face of absurd danger.
I come off as rude often because I make like of terrible things.
