So I've been thinking about making a Noble Scion character and the Noble Scion's capstone ability Peerless patrician I thought had an interesting interaction. Namely with Versatile Performance.
So lets imagine a Bard 5 / Noble Scion 10. Who has Versatile Performance in Sing (Bluff and Sense Motive) and has maxed out his Sing skill (15 points). He attempts to lie to a guard that he can literally poop gold. Now does he roll twice using the Sing skill, or does he have to either roll twice with his Bluff skill or once with his Sing Skill.
My argument is that you roll twice with the Sing skill. This is because Versatile Performance doesn't change the type of check you are doing it merely changes the type of bonus that is applied to it. This means it is still a Bluff check (and thus rolled twice with the Peerless Patrician) and is given the bonus from sing.

"Versatile Performance (Ex)
At 2nd level, a bard can choose one type of Perform skill. He can use his bonus in that skill in place of his bonus in associated skills. When substituting in this way, the bard uses his total Perform skill bonus, including class skill bonus, in place of its associated skill's bonus, whether or not he has ranks in that skill or if it is a class skill. At 6th level, and every 4 levels thereafter, the bard can select an additional type of Perform to substitute."
"Peerless Patrician (Ex)
At 10th level, once per round a noble scion can roll twice on any Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate, Knowledge (nobility), or Sense Motive check and take the better roll. Once per day, instead of rolling one of these skill checks, he can assume the roll resulted in a natural 20."
PS: Same question but toward the second half of the Peerless Patrician ability (taking a 20). I assume you can once again do it with the Sing skill.
