A non-linear adventure with a end boss that can not be destroyed in a single round! As a GM it was nice to run something that engaged the players and piqued their curiosity in every single room. The BBEG had the players wondering what the heck was going on!
Please Paizo, keep publishing adventures like this one!
Ran this for 5 players who have all completed Among the Living & Dead. At the end they all had the same question, was the last encounter thrown in at the end because they needed a BBEG? As the the one running it I understood the connection, and usually their is a way to get some back story out through RP, but even to me it seemed like they just added a BBEG to explain what happens to the party enroute and wrap up a series.
Ran this today as a 1-shot while we wait to start Serpents Skull. Made pre-gens for the players; Halfling Rogue (Scout), Half-Orc Fighter (Weapon Master) and a Human Cleric of Gorum where chosen by those who showed up. All level 7, semi-optimized and the guys playing work well together.
The game was fun, the players enjoyed it. Only reason I gave it a 4 not a 5 star rating is even with 3 people some parts are to easy.
I'll probably run this again for a monthly meetup we have around here but I will drop the characters to level 6.
Oh and for what we get for the price is amazing! Did not use the map since I'm not going to pay 49 cents a page when I can draw everything myself.
Super cool, super huge, no clue where I am going to hang this! The guys picked out where there Kingmaker kingdom was, found the city from Council of Thieves and had a enjoyable couple of minutes pointing out recognizable places. Still not sure how this will come into play in the future but its still pretty sweet.
