It was late in the evening when Borek Lukesun stumbled across the basket while walking home from his long day of work on the Kalsgard dockyards. In it he found a most curious sight, that of a dwarven babe wrapped in ragged fur blankets, with a braided dwarven beard tied at either end with jade colored ribbon. The following day Borek brought the babe and basket to the Undercroft with hopes to find a dwarven family to take care of the child. However when any dwarf caught sight of the beard, they knew this child was the son of a disgraced dwarf, and would not bring such trouble into thier house.

Borek lived alone at the edge of the Bonequarter, scaping out a hard life working as a longshoremen on the docks. He would not abandon a life though, no matter how much of a struggle it would be to care for another. He named the young child Frawd, and vowed to raise him as his own.

Frawd lived with Borek for a long time, working alongside his adopted parent at the docks of Kalsgard. It took nearly two decades until the dwarves of the Undercroft would even let him step foot inside
