Male Human Bard 1

"Best to gather allies first. They won't assume we're coming here to town. I mean, who in their right minds would attempt what we are? Getting help first could mean the difference between victory and death." He turns his attention to Tiberius and continues, "If you can give me something to convince Blackstone we're friends, I think I can get there unnoticed and bring him back here. You three can wait in a copse off the road until I return with him."

Male Human Bard 1

"I know what you mean, Tiberius. I've guided plenty of people here to Falcon's Hollow around this time of year. It's usually bustling. Well, ya know...for a small logging town." Being wary, Fell also keeps his eyes open for different signs.

Perception:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Survival:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13

Male Human Bard 1

Guys, sorry again for what seems like long absences. I try to check everyday, but sometimes nothing new is up before I need to leave. I'm still here though and I'll just start posting at least once a day in this thread to keep up with ya guys. I wish I could give a time to be around for combats that was regular, but they've been changing my schedule every week at work and we're also shorthanded. But I'm still here, like I said and I'll make a more concerted effort to be around and post.

Male Human Bard 1

"Ugh, next time we buy rations, let's look in the pack first." He stops eating the food and goes to forage for a meal, taking the crossbow with him in case he happens across some animals.

Fort: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Survival: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Male Human Bard 1

"We're forgetting something. These people need to be seen to and found a place for the night. If nothing else, they need food. It looks like the ones in charge didn't care too much about feeding them more than was needed to keep them alive." Fell had taken notice that most of everyone's attention seemed to be on the wrong done and not the need to take care of the rescued. If nothing else, he'd voice that concern. "Is there a barn or a warehouse they could stay in? After we've seen to that we can talk more of what needs to be done.'

Since Garreck brought it up and reminded me, Fell would take the crossbow and some leather armor if no one minded.

Male Human Bard 1

Fellorin said and did very little as the slaves were freed and initially cared for. Except watch. This was a situation he was very unfamiliar with, being raised his entire life in the Free Country of Andoran. And there was a rule in the wilderness that something not wholly understood was something to watch. He kept his eyes everywhere. On the slave driver yes, certainly. But the slaves themselves were under his scrutiny too.
People under intense intense stress could do intense things. So he just watched, hoping all would now be well. As they continued back to town, he caught a glimpse of a landmark he remembered. Pointing he said,"There's a tree cluster I remember. That gate can't be too far off now. We'll be back to town in no time at all."

Male Human Bard 1

The key is the leader, the one by Dannic, Fellorin thinks to himself. I need to take him out and maybe we can get the rest to stand down. He looks behind to see the man there in a stupor. "Thanks, Dannic. Now let's put your guy down! His hand goes down to a sheath on his belt and smoothly makes its way back up and towards the slave master, launching a dagger at full extension.

Draw my dagger and make a ranged attack on the slave driver
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 141d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Male Human Bard 1

Okay, I'm gonna apologize because I didn't see the new posts here in discussion and I've been waiting to see Jacob's notification of my turn in Gameplay. I'll have something up real soon.

Male Human Bard 1

Going to work now Jacob, so I thought I'd post early instead of waiting and then making everyone else wait. Have a good night, y'all.

Male Human Bard 1

"Noooo!" Seeing the slave driver execute one of the captives, Fell loses concern for himself. He runs forward and sends out a trickle of arcane energy in an attempt to stop the driver from harming any more of his hostages.

Move to BB19, AA20, Z21, and ending in Z22. Cast Daze (DC14) on slave driver. I know I'm going to provoke AoO from Slaver 4. That's okay.

Male Human Bard 1

As Fell sees Tiberius readying to hurl his weapon he continues to say,"Your face after my friend throws an axe at it! ...Okay, I guess the leg is good too." He turns to Tiberius and says, "You did ruin my punchline though."

He waits and sees Garreck's threat do little to change the disposition of the slavers. The situation was worsening by the moment. Time to act quickly and precisely. Fellorin hurried forward and with a strong side arm sent his whip forward to take the legs out from under the fourth slaver.

Move to DD-19 and trip attempt using combat expertise. 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (14) + 4 - 1 = 17

Male Human Bard 1

Fellorin knew that he'd have to give his more burly compatriots time to ready for battle. Being a woods guide, one needed to think quickly. When that failed, give oneself more time to think. He dashed around the nearby guard and japed, "Hey ugly! What's soft and red and split down the middle?"

Move to II-18 and cast Daze(DC14) on slaver 3

Male Human Bard 1

Noooooooo.......Like I said, I think it's up to us to delay some of the enemies while our fighters bonk them on the head.

(playful sarcasm doesn't read very well, does it? Yup, Daze is one of my big tricks at level one. That and tripping with my whip from a distance)

Male Human Bard 1

That's okay, we'll just keep you in the back until we get into the camp. Be ready for dazing and lots of tripping from me. On the bad guys, of course.

Male Human Bard 1

As Fell met the gaze of his new companion Dannic he took in what the young man said and replied, "Good to know. I also can stop a man from taking action for a moment. Actually, might not be a bad idea for us to both give the guards a pause and allow our fellows to oust them. If need be, I'm good at going unseen. I can probably get fairly close to one of them before he notices me."

Readying himself for the upcoming scuffle, he unfastened the whip on his belt and took it in his hand still coiled. "Well, if it's decided then shall we?" He made ready to set forth unseen.

(Stealth) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 (not going just yet, just rolling in case we do)

Male Human Bard 1

Sorry about that, still getting used to having to choose my alias. There you go. Also, hope that my set up gives you guys a good way to drag me in.

Male Human Bard 1

As Fellorin walked through the town he had found a jug of water and after drinking his fill, used it to clean his face and splash away a bit of the stench of travel. No one liked a beggar that told stories for money, but a traveler with fantastic tales to spin was another thing entirely. After acquiring a few props from clotheslines he headed towards what appeared to be an open area in what must be near the center of town. Setting up near an area that looked out of the way of the local proprietors, he began.

"Gather round, gather round! Good people of Pirren's Bluff, I have traveled far and wide. I have seen many things, love and war, tragedies and also wrongs righted. Come now and hear a tale of deception and betrayal, a loving family shattered, and the courage of a young soldier who battled the hordes of Cheliax to escape and win his freedom in Andoran! It all began years ago..."

Drawing upon his skills honed from retelling the stories he heard in taverns and upon the road in his travels, Fell began to recount (and also embellish a bit) the history of his father's escape to Andoran and the events that led him there. The crowd gathered and soon there were quite a few people around his little show.

Male Human Bard 1

Jacob - just sent you my sheet and got my profile up to date. Everything should be good to go. Also, in combat just assume I'm using combat expertise unless I say otherwise. At least for now. Lastly, I will be slow starting this combat. I thought I was working a mid-shift today, but we'll be busy tonight so I've bee rescheduled. I will be working the night shift. I'll definitely get my turn finished after work when it's real late though.

Oh, and guys, don't worry about controlling my intro. I have to leave for work in a couple of hours, so if we're not set by 6EST, just pull me along. I'm gonna go post in game now.

Male Human Bard 1

The foothills of the Aspodell mountain range were not the most hospitable terrain to travel through. Trees grew sparsely here and shade was hard to come by. The heat was making the journey even less comfortable. Fellorin Argthwellis was no stranger to discomfort, but no one ever really gets used to it. As he neared the true foot of the mountains he started to daydream about the glorious possibilities of making a shelter in a copse for the remainder of the day, waiting until the next morning to find the nearest town. "Praise Shelyn! I love the forest, but I never found the treeline as beautiful as now."

Fell mentally went over what he'd do when he found a nice clearing. He could gather fallen branches and make a sleeping pile. Rest for the afternoon and hunt in the evening. Maybe find a creek or pond since he was dangerously low on water. The last source he had found had been a spring three days ago and his skin only had a few drops remaining.

As the trees grew in thicker around him he started to hear a horrible sound. Like an angry gurgle of water in a cave. Wait a second, that's no cave, that's my stomach! I'm starving. Ugh, maybe I should just head into town now and try and talk my way into some food. I've told stories for a meal before, and if ever there was a time...

And so Fellorin continued east , coming to the edge of a town called Pirren's Bluff, in search of food and a bed. Maybe here he could find some work to make up for the horrible trouble he had come upon merely two weeks before.

Male Human Bard 1

Jacob - I will have to fill the sheet out later and email it to you tonight if that's not a problem. Have to get to work pretty soon. But I will set up Fell in the wilderness outside of town working his way in, so if I get bumped into I can respond when I get home.

Hope everyone's having a great day. Let's have a good start tomorrow!

Male Human Bard 1

@Jacob - 1. I tend to be more of a Storyteller type of player. I won't lie and say that I don't enjoy working with the mechanics to get some pretty good capabilities though. But for me, it's not about winning and getting loot, I just like to try new combinations. No need to worry about power stomping from my end.
2. I've been playing RPGs for over ten years now. My first foray was in a Rifts game. Been playing Pathfinder for about a year now, and I gotta say, I like the game quite a bit. This will not only be my first PBP game, but my first game in Golarion. So I'm pretty stoked.

I can see Fellorin having possible connections to a few characters very easily. Guess it just depends on how we end up grouping the parties. Again, Fell travels over Andoran pretty regularly. I have his backstory saying that he is returning from being stranded on the road, so I think logically the only place to put Fell would be the Aspodell Mountains. It's the only place I can see that would leave him closer to Perin's Bluff than anywhere else. Traveling through mountains takes quite a while especially when you don't want to risk the bandits you're running from to be ahead of you on the road.

I am definitely in. Looking forward to playing.

TimFrie here. Changed the alias to better continue on.

1. Bard / Guide

2. Fellorin, or Fell for short, is good-natured and self-reliant. he is an entertainer at heart and is quick to share the stories, songs, or jokes he has heard on his travels with others. He enjoys bringing a smile to other's faces. He is most at home in nature. He knows how to fight but prefers to avoid violence rather than give in to it.

3. Life is Fell's highest held virtue. he believes that everyone has the right to live their life as they see fit as long as it does not impose on another's same right. He thinks that pessimism stops someone from thinking clearly and seeing the beauty of life and its wonders. Fellorin had instilled in him by his father the view that slavery is wrong and abhorrent.

4. The story of Fellorin Argthwellis begins with his father, Rendal Argthwellis. Rendal was a son of a rich family of one of Cheliax's minor houses. He saw only the great things of his family and country. He enlisted in the Cheliax military and was placed as a sergeant with a culling unit. However, over time he realized the atrocities that his family and government were comitting and decided to get out. He took his sister with him and fled to Andoren where he could live his life peacefully. After wedding a young Andoren woman named Elia he settled in a small town having left his sister in a larger city (which was more to her liking). After his wife died in Childbirth he raised his son Fellorin on his own, teaching him about the wilderness nearby and telling the many stories of the world. Fellorin idolized his father and wanted to be just like him. One day, when he was only eight years old, A man came looking for Rendal. While hiding at his father's behest, Fell saw the man (who in a conversation with his father revealed himself to be Argovax Breslin, a slaver working for Rendal's family) attempt to capture Rendal. In the scuffle, Argovax ended up killing Rendal and fleeing town. Fellorin went to live with his aunt Meris who was a tavernmaid. He would frequently wander off on his own though and became a guide for travellers throughout Andoren.
Recently he was attacked by bandits posing as travellers that hired him to guide them. (They were secretly hired by Janos). He was stranded two weeks' journey by foot from town and without any gear but his knives and whip.

5. Meris Argthwellis - Fellorin's aunt. She escaped Cheliax with her brother when he smuggled his family to Andoren.
Evangeline Galfrey - A girl from Carpenden. She and some other young bohemians hired Fellorin to guide them to Almas in order to become members of the arts community. On the journey Fellorin fell in love with her. She has since become an initiate of Shelyn.
Argovax Breslin - A slaver who used to work for Rendal's family. Leads teams into nearby lands to capture new merchandise. Rendal's murderer.
Janos Corlin - A rich young soldier who desperately wants to seek justice for Fellorin "defiling" his sister. She slept with Fell and Janos found them together. He has taken great offense to Fellorin having dishonored his family.

6. Short-term Goals: Get a hunting falcon. Stop the slaver parties attacking nearby settlements. Eat a big meal and sleep in a bed. Get new gear.
Medium Goals: Get Janos to leave him alone. Win Evangeline's heart.
Long-term Goal: Bring Argovax and his father's family to justice.

7. Optimistic. Constantly tells bad jokes. Loses his temper when people bring up his Cheliaxan heritage.
