GM Ladile, both Bash and Damien has spoken well about your style and I agree with all they have said. I would look forward to being a player in one of your games anytime.

One of my GM's as far as enemies go puts them in initiative based on type, the boss enemy get's his own place in there while his minion might take up a completely different location. Not saying this way is any better though; because within PbP it can slow down posting if someone in the middle is AWOL. It is just another option.

I can't speak from the GM standpoint, but as a player, a thoroughly enjoyable experience with obvious thought put into the play of the NPC's.

"Yep saved us the trouble" Erik chimes in from the back, glad to let the more verbose members tell their story; but paying for the first round at the tavern.

Looking good here as well, only time will tell if Erik survives level 1 ;)

A bitter coppery taste fills Erik mouth as he bleary looks at blurred trees surrounding him. Eventally the voices of his companions intrudes as well as an ache of a pain in his chest, not the actual pain just actual memory of it.

"was beginin to think Erastil had lowered his standards, seeing you two here." he says shaking his head while his fingers poke and prod where the actual ax used to be.

"Guess we made it, nice work."

Misjudging the minotaur's reach cost Erik dearly crossing the log, a mistake which left him wide open to the deadly counter attack. A massive pressure on his chest draws his eyes downward, the axe head bloody and broken jutting out briefly brings a moment of wonderment "How can something that big move so fast?" followed by a icy pain that follows him into oblivion.

Stabilization Check - Rnd 4(DC10)-hp damage: 1d20 + 2 - 9 ⇒ (7) + 2 - 9 = 0 Well this doesn't look too promising going to roll the checks so as not to hold things up.

Remainder of checks:

Stabilization Check - Rnd 5(DC10)-hp damage: 1d20 + 2 - 10 ⇒ (10) + 2 - 10 = 2

Stabilization Check - Rnd 6(DC10)-hp damage: 1d20 + 2 - 11 ⇒ (14) + 2 - 11 = 5

Stabilization Check - Rnd 7(DC10)-hp damage: 1d20 + 2 - 12 ⇒ (2) + 2 - 12 = -8

Stabilization Check - Rnd 8(DC10)-hp damage: 1d20 + 2 - 13 ⇒ (11) + 2 - 13 = 0

Failing that last check he is dead, without outside aid

acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

Erik grins as the Minotaur wisely avoids coming across the log, but unfortunately that means someone will need to go to him. Running lightly across the log , he aims a swing at the creatures knee hoping to draw it's attention and divert it from Ruby as the horseman once again regains his saddle.

Quarterstaff + PA + IC: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 1 = 7

movement - 3 S(down), 3 to the W(left) - only the squares with bushes in them are doubled correct?

Erik continue moving towards the Minotaur, crying out "Janira! as the creature gores her.

"Come play with someone more your size, seems I met your mother south of the Shrikewood, broken horn and cowbell dangling as she followed the Mummer's Fair."

readied action(if minotaur attacks):

Quarterstaff + PA + IC: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 1 = 17
Damage: 1d6 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 1 = 9

my understanding is I can ready a standard action and move so long as the movement is not more than a 5' step or a part of the readied action. Erik is attempting to catch the minotaur as he comes through the water or across the log.

Silver Crusade

M Human fighter(weapon master) 1

Erik swears under his breath before rushing forward to help Janira.

Double move to the square below the bush to Eredur's south, I'm unable to update the map at the moment

Silver Crusade

M Human fighter(weapon master) 1

"Let's find Janira, before Damien here needs to use up the rest of her supplies" Erik readies his quarterstaff for anything else that may present itself before moving further down the tunnel.

Hoping to sneak in an attack while it retaliated against Bolonwr.

"Well damien, We could always go hunting for the minotaur. "
Erik offers conversationally, before turning to congratulate Boomer
"Dunno what you said but it sent them running, nice work!

I'm good with the optional encounter as well.

Silver Crusade

M Human fighter(weapon master) 1

Bow at the ready as they walked, Erik listens to Eredur's explanation of what the kobolds are discussing; and Damien's ambush plan.

"Eredur, Bolonwr, can either of you convince them this is the wrong cavern to take up residence in? Damien, I don't see a reason to kill them if they can be persuaded to live elsewhere."

Erik will kill to defend himself or others, even retribution for earlier attacks, but so far these two haven't done anything to his knowledge.

Silver Crusade

M Human fighter(weapon master) 1

"That's only half the job gentlemen, we have some fighters to check on Erik says looking towards the other tunnel. Perhaps with a little speed we'll be reunited with our missing guide

Drawing a blank at the moment folks sorry

Silver Crusade

M Human fighter(weapon master) 1

"Quit yah whining, just doesn't look right for you to carry around that overgrown hammer, and then cry about this little scratch. Makes people think perhaps your over compensating"

ripping a bit of cloth off he wraps the wound, "That should help."

Returning his quarterstaff to its harness; Erik retrieves his bow and joins the others in searching the dhampir's final resting place.

Perception(DC20): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18 nope

Smiling at Bolonwr's assessment, "just proves you shouldn't mess with the dead's rest, they just might send you to your own."

"Where to next?"

Apparently I only previewed my post last night, it was 30' to reach that point the arrow was indicating unless these are 10' squares?? :) Admittedly, I was lax in my arrow drawing since these days the icons for updating the map through Chrome is in micro icons, I only drew one arrow instead of the three I should have. Thanks for botting me.

Erik raises his quarterstaff with a sidelong look at the larger earthbreakers, Gonna be tough to match those, ignoring Bolonwr's advice for much the same reason as Bash.

Quarterstaff(2H)+PA+FF: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

FF or Furious Focus:

Even in the midst of fierce and furious blows, you can find focus in the carnage and your seemingly wild blows strike home.

Prerequisites: Str 13, Power Attack, base attack bonus +1.
Benefit: When you are wielding a two-handed weapon or a one-handed weapon with two hands, and using the Power Attack feat, you do not suffer Power Attack's penalty on melee attack rolls on the first attack you make each turn. You still suffer the penalty on any additional attacks, including attacks of opportunity.

Erik's original post was to attack the yellow zombie, GM feel free to assign to green if the yellow is downed by Bash.

Sorry for my absence, I am on family vacation. I thought I would have more time for posting and that was not the case at all yesterday.

Lady L, will try to do better the remainder of the week.

Erik smiles at the exchange between Uori and Bash concerning dwarves and their penchant for digging. Sure that if as Damien said Bash hadn't 'dug' him up, the tunnels were safe.

Erik was happy to follow either course, some of the best battles he'd been witness to were ones between natural predators so being witness to another would be welcome, nd if danger of another sort lay down the other path so be it. Better this group to check it out than a dedicated bookworm who didn't know which end of the sword was the pointy end.

"Thank you Uori." turnig towards the others "Lead the way gentlemen....yes Bash... that means you" He finishes with a smile and a wink.

Silver Crusade

M Human fighter(weapon master) 1

Erik moves closer to the man as indicated, however he holds his tongue for the moment as too many speaking at once would confuse even someone who spoke their language normally, and he wasn't so sure this man did.

Silver Crusade

M Human fighter(weapon master) 1

"as he says we mean you no harm, we simply wish to understand the meaning of this cavern."

Erik adds from the background

Silver Crusade

M Human fighter(weapon master) 1

Earlier
While Damien makes his charcoal sketches, Erik write down what they saw in each, hoping between his written account and Damien's charcoal etching the researchers would have what they needed.

In the large cavern room
Erik follows the others down the stairway/ramp, remaining quiet for the moment, using his quarterstaff as a walking stick. Keeping his eyes on the man in the water.

Listening to the others tell of the carvings they deciphered, he points to the one with four lines. "this shows Arodens teaching about the farmer, how over time it will be ground down a habit more with each planting til the boulder becomes fertile dirt."

looking back that's all four I believe GM

"Well we can't hang around here all day." Tossing his pack across the pit to the far side, Erik backtracks a bit and takes a running jump to cross the pit

Longjump(acrobatics)DC12: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 added +2 for the wet floor to the DC

landing on both feet on the far side, Erik gathers his balance and his pack, turning back to the others. "Here throw me your gear and get a good running jump, pretend like a lion is breathing down your neck." the last said with a quirky smile as if perhaps he spoke from experience .

"Unless you'd prefer to swim."

Silver Crusade

M Human fighter(weapon master) 1

Erik taps Bolonwr lightly on the shoulder with the afore mentioned grappling hook "Allow me" Using an under handed pitch, he swings the hook out and over the water, landing with a splash behind the cloth. Then hauling the hook back in so as not to sink the cloth to the bottom.

Presenting it to the others for a closer examination.

Silver Crusade

M Human fighter(weapon master) 1

"No need to go swimming just yet"

Erik says as he sets his own pack down and Starts pulling his rope and grapple out.

"Come on Bash with my hook and yours we ought to be able to snag it and draw it back to us."

GM what kind of roll for us to snag it?

Silver Crusade

Janira's Goody Bag:

Potion of Barkskin - Bash
Potion of Cure Light Wounds
Potion of Feather Step - Damien
Potion of Vanish
Scroll of Entangle - (druid/ranger)
Scroll of Gust of Wind - Eredur
Scroll of Identify - Eredur
Scroll of Mage Armor (CL 6) - Eredur
Scroll of Obscuring Mist - Eredur
Wand of Burning Hands (CL 3rd, 4 charges) - Eredur
Wand of Cure Light Wounds (CL 3rd, 8 charges)
Acid
Alchemist’s Fire (2) - Bash, Erik
Holy Water
Smokestick - Erik
Tanglefoot Bag - Damien
Thunderstone - Erik

What Bolonwr, no acid? Juraan will be so disappointed ;)

Allowing the others to withdraw what they want from the pile of goodies, Erik kneels down and gathers up the smokestick, thunderstone and remaining achemist fire. "Bolonwr nothing?" he ask, waiting a moment for his reply before putting the remainder back in the backpack and clipping it to his own. The tiny backpack dwarfed by his own.

Lighting a torch, his own eyes unable to piece the gloom ahead, Erik moves forward searching for any footprints left by someone oter than those in this group.

Sorry to hear about the car, glad you're OK though. Night shifts are tough as well, I'm on a standard full-time day shift for the first time in close to 20 years, so take your sleep when you can get it. We'll be here.

Holding no ill will towards Eredur or Bolonwr, that is what he would have expected someone to do in the Shrikewood if he gave that order; yet the tables were being turned on him. He wasn't used to being the one someone else was putting their neck on the line for...he watchs Damien and Bash for their actions.

survival+map kit: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 2 = 8

The map Erik had been working on wasn't any help yet, so following the ever confident Bash seemed as good plan as any. Besides he'd proven himself the night before when he'd brought back the squirrel.

Storing his staff in a harness that doubled to hold either it or his bow, he grabs his bow and sets off after Bash.

Quietly listening as Shane makes his speech he turns towards their new guide as Shane makes his exit. "6 months, not a long time and yet you're still our guide, what can you tell us, other than a few Gillmen, not really sure what those are, entering a cave can't see why this is so important"

"Grog, they always want grog, and it isn't even mid-morning. Just so's you know I don't plan on carrying any of you back if'n your drunk."
A young man from the corner says, with a wink. A simple breakfast lays before him, a quarterstaff and bow lean against the corner, his armor is well worn despite his youth.
Two sons of the earth, and a spell slinger, wonder what it is we are after. I meet a man in the woods, help him and he sends me to meet you three, what's the plan?"

As the three turn towards him , he offers "The names Erik Oathsworn, guide from the Shrikewood."
