Biography:
Enge was raised in the Stormspear hills of the Lands of the Linnorm Kings. Like many other dwarves in the region, her parents made a living by mining copper to be traded in Varisia. Having saved sufficent gold to pay for a formal education, Enge's parents sent her to study the history and traditions of her people at the Great Temple of Torag in Karlsgard.
Enge was an above-average student with a love for languages and history. She was exceptional however in her devotion to Torag, and he blessed her with the power to perform wonders in his name. Once she completed her studies, Enge had hoped to become a priest in the service of the Great Temple, but her family's lack of prestige and her own limited political abilities meant she had little choice but to return home to the copper mining village of her origin.
Knowing her disappointment, and that she was not suited for the life of a miner, Enge's parents arranged for her to serve as a healer for one of the upcoming caravans to Varisia. Her divine healing abilities and knowledge of multiple languages made her a valuable asset to the dwarven caravans. In time, she would learn to wield the warhammer that symbolized her faith in anger at raiders, goblins, and highwaymen.
Nearly twenty years ago, Enge's caravan was beset by orcs not far from Kaer Maga. Most of the caravan's warriors fell in battle, leaving the civilians in the caravan helpless. Enge rallied with the remainder in a desperate defense, but received a fierce blow from the orcs' leader and lost consciousness.
With all her allies dead, dying, or fled, the ambush would have been the end of Enge, had another caravan from Sandpoint not come down the same road a few hours later. Koya Mvashti, the caravan's healer, took in the dwarf and nursed her back to health on the caravan's return journey to Sandpoint.
Enge's travels have brought her once again to Sandpoint, and she has stopped to pay a visit to her old friend. Learning that Koya intends to travel to the North for a great expedition, Enge is thankful that the two of them can travel together again, at least for a while.
