Personality: Like most of the Shaonti tribes people, Elig grew up valuing outward shows of strength and prowess. He dislikes weakness and frivolity, and accepts his tribe’s judgment that the so-called civilized lands are all decadent and their people by and large untrustworthy. As a result of this he can often come off as exceedingly callous, rude, and even inhumane, for he finds acts of disinterested charity puzzling and insulting to the recipient. Many unfamiliar with Shaonti ways are apt to view him as a bully, always quick to place himself in the role of leader and dismiss others’ opinions and judgments in favor of his own. Anything else, however, would be considered tacit acceptance of inferior status among his own tribe members.
History: Elig comes from a long line of fisher folk among the Shadde-Quah people. Yearning for more than a mere village life can offer a young man, yet not yet strong or renowned enough to challenge tribal elders for place among their storied ranks, he has gone forth to prove himself a worthy warrior, by bringing back great wealth and trophies to his homeland.
Note: While this character only has the intelligence for one language, I felt it was necessary to fill that first slot with his native language (which will be useless in terms of this game) and then allow him some limited proficiency with the common tongue. Otherwise he won’t be able to communicate with anyone and that won’t be much fun.
