Trouble: My Murder Mystery

Phase One
When Edwyn's ability first manifested during adolescence, his parents thought him mentally ill. They had him seen by every doctor they could afford, in hopes of curing him; when the more traditional treatments failed, they resorted to more drastic ones, such as electroshock therapy. Eventually deeming their son a lost cause, they had their son committed to an asylum. Edwyn remained there until months later, when he was visited by his estranged grandfather. He claimed that he could see ghosts as well, and offered to take him back to Amsterdam. Edwyn accepted without question.
Phase Aspect: A Haunted Past

Phase Two
With his grandfather's help, Edwyn eventually adjusted to a life of being surrounded by ghosts. He grew to admire the man, who he learned was once a great detective that used his ability to help the living and dead alike. Determined to follow in his footsteps, he asked for him to become his mentor. When the old man died years later, Edwyn used the money left to him in his will to reestablish the old detective agency. He went on to build up a reputation of his own.

Phase Three
A mysterious foreign client requested Edwyn's services in the city of Jorvik, a place his grandfather once warned him about. Perhaps for good reason, for soon after arriving, the detective was promptly murdered. He was promptly raised from the dead by a gold-eyed necromancer, allegedly the man who had called him there in the first place. The source of his unlife was revealed to be a strange pocket watch, which contained his very soul. The wizard offered him a deal - investigate his matters of interest, and he would help him solve his murder. As though he had a choice...

Phase Four
One of Edwyn's stranger cases: a woman visited his office one night, claiming to be on the run from vampires. He might have dismissed her as a delusional drug addict... if the ghost of her boyfriend weren't there to vouch for her. Her story was crazy, but then, so was his own. By pulling a few strings, he was able to get her everything she needed to get out of the country and start a new life. Unfortunately, not everyone is very happy with his good deed...
