About Droggan

The Forgecrafters from Magnimar have a long and proud martial history. Their clan warriors were well-known for their prowess on the field of battle. What is not widely known is that their clan also has a shorter tradition of those who are predisposed to arcane magic spanning back several generations. To the younger generation, they appear as sages or historians for their proud dwarven tradition. Droggan is the youngest member of the clan who has followed in the less traveled footsteps of his clansmen.

Instead of donning robes, Droggan normally wears simple leather armor, complete with an overcloak and hood that he draws up occasionally. Instead of using the hood to shield himself from the weather or bright sunshine, he does so out of habit when in deep thought. On adventures, he carries his staff openly but keeps two daggers hidden behind his back (belt sheathes) for emergancies. He keeps his appearance neat and tidy – almost to the point of obsession. Unlike most dwarves, he goes out of his way to make sure that he always looks his best.

Unlike the rest of his fellow clan members who dabble in the arcane arts, he did not follow the path of conjuration. Rather, he found delight in the enchantment school instead. The school seemed to offer a much subtler approach to magic that requires a well-trained mind. The challenge appealed to him and he has never regretted his decision.

He is a decent speaker and delights in engaging others in conversation. He normally keeps his familiar, Rognar, close by. In public, treats it like a pet but the raven does not seem to mind. After all, it makes him less of a target against Droggan’s foes. His master keeps him well-fed and what few tasks he asks of him usually don’t involve a great deal of danger. Usually…
