About Dr. Lucian Argentum
Character Sheet
In a word, Dr. Argentum is here to help.
Years ago he was a smarter than average street urchin somewhere in Kenebres whose luck ran out one faithful night after a job that turned out to not be a job outside of town. It took the intervention someone literally blessed by the goddess of luck to keep him from dying in a spectacularly gory fashion upon the claws of something profoundly unsavory. Most would have fixated on the symbol of Desna or the seemingly divine provenance of her arrival. It would be the sort of thing that might launch someone into a holy fervor and life of faith.
Luce, however, focused on something much more mundane. When he, a random street kid overlooked by the highest and holiest of the crusaders for years of his life, needed help this random stranger showed up and helped. This one act of heroism was enough to light a fire in his heart.
He never managed to muster the faith needed to perform healing miracles. A parade of goodly gods had come and gone through Kenebres but there were still people starving in out of the way corners while arrogant nobles accountable to no voice of the people they ruled sat comfortably in their walled estates. Instead Luce dedicated himself to learning the hard and blood arts of the surgeon. When the holy men had other concerns, Luce was there with needle and thread. When the wounds of prisoners were left to supperate and fester, Luce stepped up with astringent chemics and patience.
His simple, self-imposed directive to help was, perhaps, naive along the border of the Worldwound. However, at the same time, he grew into a towering figure of corded muscle with a face like a thundercloud and a grip like a python. Luce still remembers the lessons of his youth as much as he now knows the natural sciences and medical arts.
