About Doc Bashful

The fleet footedness, book smarts and sense for combat-avoidance required to be a good field surgeon aren’t considered traditional dwarven virtues, but it would be hard to describe Doc Bashful as looking anything other than the epitome of traditional dwarfishness. Commonly seen in a long leather smock over a many-pocketed vest, he’s known to the slums of his neighborhood as someone who will see you discretely and quickly for low cost. Given his habit of dropping military terms into casual conversation and his deliberate avoidance of law enforcement some theorize that he’s an army deserter, but those more familiar with his practice will tell you that it’s more likely a dishonorable discharge if not active contempt for the trappings of law and military service,

“Dont you fuss about where I got the painkillers lad; I knew your mother since she was a wee slip of a thing and you and your whole line are worth ten each of the brass these woulda been wasted on. Just bite down on this strip a’ leather, lemme know if you need another dose, and I’ll get meself to work getting that appendix out.”
