Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Dhaunae goes dead last I believe, hence no post yet.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Still here, wasn't sure what the situation was with the anti-magic field. 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10 Initiative. Welp, I'm last, so I guess it doesn't matter I'm slightly late to the party, lol
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Due to the fact that we're all half godling, the anti-magic field has seriously gimped us, by a lot. The only things Dhaunae can do are use her godbound powers, and that's pretty much it. The bulk of the class features from godling are supernatural, which can't be used inside an anti-magic field. Nor can any of her Radiant abilities be used. She at least have a chance to cast her spells, thanks to being a godling, but beyond that, there's little she can do right now. Giving her more levels, while not an *awful* suggestion, isn't a proper solution to the current problem.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
"What exactly does pledging one's 'troth' entail?" Dhaunae asks, uncertain what the emissary is asking of them.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
We were going to attack, but then we decided on diplomacy due to impressive defenses of the oasis. Hence all the rolls and roleplaying with the guards. We're now awaiting the emissary of the uthriach. We asked if the emissary was going to come meet us outside or if we're going to be let inside. However, a quick check seems to indicate you told Silvertail that Miera was going to go inside and get said emissary, unless we did something to stop her. Which we said we would not. Except for Alyln, who decided to go against the group, and attempted to use some sort of buffoon power, However there appears to be some more confusion that just that of the GM: On December 21st, Alyln posted this: She bends down and whispers into the Foxes ear. "I have already put my feet on the ground in-side little one, have no fear, I will be waiting for you there" and with that she is gone. Alyln will wait inside GM, doing nothing but moving to the other side of the gate to give the others change to get in. So she may not be doing things for a while, wile she waits for you all. They then posted this: Alyln looked on as the new comer confronted her fellows. She kept herself invisible and undetectable by any means. But felt it was her duty to stay near by. But never said they left the interior of the compound/oasis. Finally, on Feb 19th, this post was made(in part, as I feel the rest doesn't matter here): Alyln gets up and walks close to the gate but not with in the anti magic part. **However** as stated above, and a check of the gameplay will show, Alyln *never* left the inside of the oasis. I'm not sure where the Anti-Magic Field is, or what it specifically covers, but Alyln is not outside the gates with the rest of us. She's inside. Which also means she may not even have line of sight to use her ability.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Aside from the mythic tiers and Radiant, Dhaunae could easily join Avalon one day. I don't think Radiant would be vetoed, but if it were, I could probably find a replacement class. NOTE, I am not even sorta saying she should actually join Avalon, but she could be an interesting edition to the game, I think.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
I know the Sunwakes are generally a family of dragons, but I guess somewhere along the lines they adopted an angel, lol. Dhaunae is a PC for Scarred Lands game, set in the ancient past. Decided to spread the Sunwake name around a bit, lol
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
FYI. We are gestlat PCs. That is awesome. We are mythic and that too is awesome. We're also level 10, and tier 5, meaning we have a fair amount of power. However we are *also* Godbound. Godbound powers work within antimagic fields. Think outside the box. Maybe Seb gave us Godbound for a reason, like this scenario *right* here.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
"Does that mean we're allowed entrance? Or must we remain out here, for your emissary?"
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Antimagic Field only affects magical effects, such as spells and supernatural powers. Extraordinary Abilities (Ex): Extraordinary abilities are nonmagical. They are, however, not something that just anyone can do or even learn to do without extensive training. Effects or areas that suppress or negate magic have no effect on extraordinary abilities. The ability Dhaunae has that grants her a bonus to diplomacy is: Legendary Beauty I (Ex): Diplomacy and Perform skills are always class skills. The godling gains a bonus equal to half his class level to Diplomacy checks made to make a request of a creature that is at least indifferent toward him (see the Diplomacy skill). ************** That's why I asked where the gatekeepers fell on the attitude chart earlier. She gets the bonus since they are at least indifferent.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Dhaunae's bonus to diplomacy is an Ex ability and thus not affected by AMF.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
An antimagic field greatly reduces the capabilities of Dhaunae. She's almost useless without access to her magic and supernatural abilities. I think the only ability she has that isn't spells or SU is Legendary Beauty. Sooo, She's a super pretty commoner?
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
The angelic young lady bows respectfully to the guards. "We've been traveling for some time now, and would most appreciate the opportunity to rest and recuperate." 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (12) + 22 = 34 Diplomacy. Should we switch to you all aiding Dhaunae or keep with us assisting Silvertail? As she speaks, she radiates an aura of calm around herself and her companions. Standard action to activate Divine Presence, which acts as a Sanctuary spell with a DC Of 23.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Before you resolve this gate scene, important question: Where on the attitude chart are these gatekeepers? Depending on which they are Dhaunae may be able to alter the outcome.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Brunhild and Ianthe gain 10 temp HP and +2 insight bonus to saves, while Silvertail gains half that. The HP does not expire, and restores themselves at a rate of 1 per minute. Also, each of you can select from the following bonus(es): Durability: While this vivification is used on an ally, they gain a DR 1/–. This damage reduction increases by 1 for each additional point of essence used with this vivification. Ferocity: While this vivification is used on an ally, they gain a +2 insight bonus
Might: While this vivification is used on an ally, they gain a +1 enhancement bonus to their Strength score, +1 for each additional point of essence used with this vivification. Renewal: Each minute the ally spends with essence invested in them they heal 1 point of ability damage. For each additional point of essence used with this vivification, an additional point of ability damage is healed each minute. For every hour an ally spends with essence invested in them, 1 point of ability drain they are suffering is converted into a point of ability
Speed: While this vivification is used on an ally, they gain a +1 enhancement bonus to their Dexterity score, +1 for each additional point of essence used with this vivification. Brunhild and Ianthe can pick two different vivifications or the same one twice. While Silvertail can choose one.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
"Before we venture forth, allow me to once more invest a little of myself into each of you." Dhaunae will invest two points of essence into Brunhild and Ianthe, and one into Silvertail. I believe we're good to move forward GM
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Dhaunae listens carefully to Silvertail's intel, and suggestions, then smiles at Brunhild's "I was just going to suggest that myself. I'm not sure we need to actually attack the dragon, though should it come down to that, it would best to do so as close to full strength as possible." She turns to divine archer. "A non combative plan from you Brunhild? Is this what's known as growing up?" She says with a deadpan tone, making it impossible to tell if she was being serious or teasing the warrior.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Why don't you do that to get the convo rolling and then the rest of can offer insight/suggestions.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
I assume both Silvertail and Alyln fill us in with everything they've learned??
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Dhaunae didn't go with Slivertail. She's staying with Ianthe and Brunhild, drinking wine and chatting. Do you still want me to make a perception check?
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
"Gladly" Dhaunae says with a smile for the proffered cup. "What would you like to know about me? I'm not one to hide much from my allies or friends."
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Oh wow, I totally forgot to post some follow up stuff. This is what Dhaunae's wings are from, it's why they wouldn't always be around. Angelic Wings:
ANGELIC WINGS
Shaping this beautiful veil gives you a pair of
Essence
Chakra Bind (Shoulders) [D10, N10, V10]:
Also, GM, can I have Ianthe craft me a spear, using the reduced cost for making an item?(Half) Finally, for the new players, Dhaunae has a class feature she'll offer to you all before the scouting: Vivification (Su): Starting at 2nd level and every even level thereafter, the radiant may choose one vivification from the following list. Whenever the radiant invests essence into an ally with akashic bonds, she may grant them the benefits of one vivification she knows. For each
Durability: While this vivification is used on an ally, they gain a DR 1/–.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
For sure! That's kinda why I made that post, to bump and move us forward!
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
"If we are going to potentially battle a dragon, it might be a good idea to find a safe place for the caravan. Preferably far away from the fighting." Dhaunae says, as her fellow godlings discuss seeking otu Jailry.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
I'm still in mid spell. I believe we have one or two more questions.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Dhaunae's wings are a a magical 'item' so she doesn't always have them.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Hey Ianthe, how would you feel about being the crafter of Dhaunae's spear? And thus them having at least somewhat of a pre-existing relationship? I figure worst case, Ianthe has just forgotten meeting Dhaunae, as she seems a bit flighty/forgetful.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
"How does one gain entry to these deeps?" GM, are you counting Brunhild's question as one or two for purposes of the 5 I am allowed?
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
For sake of ease GM, assume Dhaunae asks any questions the party might have. I believe the troll answers aloud, so they should all hear it's replies.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Absolutely. I can ask 5 questions in total, which need to be in language we share, but I have 10 ranks in linguistics, plus my int mod, so I assume I know whatever language it speaks(I'm guessing Giant).
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
My suggestion would still require us casters to spend a mythic power point to cast them. Which, basically nets the same effect of the signature spells, just differently. Since we're limited to having to still spend the point, chances are most of the time, we'll be casting mythic versions of favorite spells. Though occasionally, we can cast a more situational mythic spell, should we really need to. It's kinda like combining the benefits of the reliability of spontaneous casting with the potential versatility of prepared, yet still very limited. After all, we only get 13 mythic power points per day, and there's a lot more to do with them than just cast spells(depending, of course). I feel like not having to pay to power a mythic spell is a bit too much, as that means we're able to more freely use other mythic powers, without needing to worry about saving a few points for any potential mythic spells. I also don't like the idea of taking away the thematic flavor of putting a bit of your mythic self into a spell to make it more badass.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
All of that is correct, however, this is found under the mythic spell section: Casting Mythic Spells: If you know the mythic version of a spell, any time you cast the spell, you may expend one use of mythic power to convert the spell into its mythic version as you cast it. This doesn't change the level of the spell slot you use to cast the spell. If you're a caster who prepares spells (such as a cleric or wizard), you never have to prepare the mythic version of a spell—if you prepare the non-mythic version, you may cast it as the mythic version by expending one use of mythic power. Unless otherwise specified, casting the mythic version of a spell doesn't take any longer than casting the non-mythic version.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
I would have to double check, but I believe many mythic feats do not require you to spend a mythic power point to use them. They may grant an additional bonus should you chose to, but you still gain a basic bonus no matter what. That's not the case with mythic spells. In order to even cast one, you need to spend a mythic power point. Otherwise, it's just the basic spell. Thus, we are limited in the amount of mythic spells we can cast by the number of mythic power points, which also have more uses beyond just spell casting.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
GM, Considering the power level of this game, as well the general theme of us being semi divine, what do you think about the idea that for us spell casters, we can automatically cast the mythic version of any spell we know/have prepared? Normally, you either need to take a universal path ability or a mythic feat to gain access to limited number of mythic spells. However, you need to spend mythic power when casting them, so you're still limited in the amount of mythic spells you can cast per day. Also, I know in your other games you've allowed us to be a little fast and loose with the number of feats we take. Was wondering if that's in effect for this game too.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Sorry, that's on me. Posting now. Dhaunae spares a brief glance at the trolls who fled. "Should we deal with them? I would rather not have any survivors deciding they want revenge." She says to Brunhild, confident the divine warrior could dispatch their foes with ease on her own. That said, she walks over the to one of lesser trolls, and grasps it's head. Casting her spell, she wrenches it's soul and temporarily forces it back into it's body. Casting Speak With Dead. It gets a will save, DC 21. I went with one of the normal trolls because they're less likely to succeed at the save.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Do we have any spells or abilities that grant morale bonuses? I took Moment of Greatness as one of my spells known, but can easily trade it out.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
"I could bring one of their souls back for questioning, or I could attempt to restore one of them to life, and we could interrogate it then."
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
The angel nods her head in respect to Silvertail. "Welcome your majesty, these are interesting times we live in, to see so many of us who are divine children or siblings gathered together." Dhaunae smiles warmly to the fox. Depending on if all are dead or not, I have different actions.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
I think the only thing we might truly be missing is a dedicated melee beatstick/tank. Dhaunae is *sort* of tank, in that she can take a decent beating(lots of HP), and has plenty of healing, but she's not AC heavy, nor is does she possess any defensive abilities(DR, SR, resistances, imunnities, etc) . Also, outta sheerest curiosity, how do you feel about playing a female character? Obviously you don't have to, but I love the dynamic of all four us being badass women PCs, lol.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Knowing that fire is the best weapon against trolls, Dhaunae focuses her divine power like a ray of the sun, and projects a blast of light from her open palm. Casting Searing Light spending a point of mythic power for the mythic version. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 ranged touch. Possible crit. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 crit! for 20d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3, 2, 2, 5, 5, 4, 4, 2, 5, 1, 4, 6, 4, 2, 2, 2, 6, 4) = 68 fire damage
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Was trying to get around the cover by taking to the air. I believe I can still target them, however, it seems they get a bonus to their reflex saves. Cover rules here. Dhaunae's DC is 23 20s do in fact auto hit, and allow a possible crit. Roll again with the exact same modifiers to determine if it's a crit or not
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Dhaunae launches herself into the sky, and calls down divine fire to incinerate the trolls. She then calls out to the trolls "Do you like fire? I'm full of it!" Move action to fly up, standard to cast Flame Strike for 15d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 6, 3, 1, 4, 2, 6, 1, 3, 1, 6, 5, 1, 4) = 47, targeting a group around the injured troll.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
"No blood oaths or sacrifices shall be given or made. This road is not yours nor does it belong to your Ancient Masters. " Dhaunae says sternly, brooking no objection or argument. Just a reminder, as it seems combat is about to break out. Each fellow PC has 15 temp HP, and +3 insight to saves. Brunhild has +3 to Str and Alyln has +3 to Dex, I believe.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Looking at the map, it appears that there are no trolls actually close to us. Is that the case(they are all on that ridge or whatever) and they are speaking to us from a far, or are they some(one) nearby?
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
I'm here. My brain was just mush every night after NYCC. I tired to post the other night and just couldn't come up with anything useful/sensible, lol
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
My mistake, I have since verified with those who made the class, and the two bonuses are not mutually exclusive. That said, unsure if this current combat is actually over or not, but for future reference, these are the bonuses I can grant, in addition to temp HP and saves: Vivification: Vivification (Su): Starting at 2nd level and every even level thereafter, the radiant may choose one vivification from the following list. Whenever the radiant invests essence into an ally with akashic bonds, she may grant them the benefits of one vivification she knows. For each
Durability: While this vivification is used on an ally, they gain a DR 1/–.
Female Swanmay Angel Eldritch Godling 10/Radiant 10
Uh, I haven't left. Did you miss my post above yours? lol Also, I need you two to check out Akashic Bond, and Vivification in my profile, and let me know if you guys want just the temp hp/bonus to saves, or some other benefit(via Vivification).
