RD 6: Demons

The remaining demons realize that the battle has turned against them, the double down on their unified attack on Karnog. they want to send their master at least one juicy new soul to torment.

the "penalty" is the result of Felic BI spell.

Do any of these attacks hit Karnog?

Enemy RD 5: On Grung

The demon steps back five feet so it can fully use its reach.

I don't think these hit you.

Meanwhile a demon moves within his reach of Karnog to utilize his flanking ability. yellow moved to flank with pink feebleminded demon

att 1, flank: 1d20 + 21 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 21 + 2 = 30;damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14;plus acid: 1d6 ⇒ 1;sneak: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11

The two demons roar in battle rage.

I think two attacks hit you karnog.

Note the demons have sneak attack damage. They alos have the cokeup ability with the longsear in close combat but that is with penalty.

The thin green line hits the demon who shudders from the force of the ray.

fort save: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25

It's body deflects some of the wicked power. I think it takes 2 more d6 of damage, for a total of 5d6.

"HIKTA VVIRGH BUS OH FHUMHBH"

abyssal:
"I'm going rip your spine out then suck on your brain while I torment your soul."

Enemy: RD 3

Desmond puts one of original demons down, and to his surprise it does not vanish at it's death, it's large body lays fallen in the snow.

Another demon takes a 5 foot step back and thrust it's corrosive lonspear towards Kalim.

Manwhile, two more demons teleport to the battle. yellow haloesd. But take no additional actions.

The feebleminded demon sees one of it's kind fall to the ground and his other companion stab at Kalim. Taking the que from his companion he moves forward a stabs at Felicitas,

attack, flank: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (4) + 21 = 25;damage: 1d8 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17;plus acid: 1d6 ⇒ 5; sneak: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5

The room releases a thunderous crack as a rift between planes is sheared open. The table the General was standing on explodes into shards.

DC 18 Reflex save for 1/2 damage.

flying shards: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 1) + 2 = 4

"You'll be moving into a demiplane made up of shadow stuff that effects magic in an odd sort of way. Beyond that my insight fails." He spits again and it sizzles on the floor. "Remember, this... place is the ground zero in the coming war, if you fail." He then steps back through the gate.

The demon hisses, "Any other meandering questions?" He smirks at the bard, "Care to go back with me, your sharp tongue and shapely body could provide me with sport." It almost appears as is he winks at Felicitas. "Oh well, then."

He glances at each person one last time.

Do you have any last questions before he steps back through the gate?

undercommon:
"Sacrificed."

As the news sinks into for Nym, he adds

undercommon:
"Less is known about your little sister though."

Kalim Gudlavaletti wrote:
"It would not cause chaos, General. It would end it. There can be neither chaos nor destruction without anything to destroy."

"Unless it is complete surprise, any reckoning causes an underlying chaos, you just don't know it yet."

Kalim Gudlavaletti wrote:
"I ask for no pledge. I am but a simple spearman brought aware of too much. I am no prophet. But you know of the negation of which I speak. I would offer much against it."

"Why would I be concerned about the great chaos such an event would undoubtedly cause?"

"Hidden?"

"I'm could careless about those peons, his followers are irrelevant,.." He scoffs then pauses for another moment before volunteering another tidbit. "The proper question is who is he bringing it to...he's bringing it to Hecate's pet...Hrourvex."

Karnog:
You would know about the inherent and constant battle between devils (LE) and demons (CE). You also know the goddess Hecate is LE and Orcus is clearly CE. You suspect that this is the reason why the General appeared rather than a lieutenant.

When Karnog speaks the General roars in an evil laughter. "Rid the plane of my Master." He continues to laugh, "You will make a fine minor trophy somewhere obscurely located in his domain, but I will say..." He ponders the question a bit, "When you are in Twilight Demesne seek the Keeper." He yawns clearly growing bored with the questions.

Kalim Gudlavaletti wrote:
"I ask perspnnaly, When The Void comes, not a void, but that from beyond that would negate mortal and demon alike, can we count on you for destroying them so that destroying can continue?"

"I make no pledge to mortals."

The demon lifts the fallen angel's greatsword and nods. "There are many searching for the two weapons you..." He pauses searching for words, "...acquired." He takes the weapon and slips it into weathered weathered bag on his thick waist. "Naphrathoth was a worthless c*^k, a sniveling idiot." He spits and the phlegm sizzles as if in a frying pan when it hits the ground.

"You seek Luther's vicious, frost dwarven waraxe? The weapon wants to go to it's master and it's Master seeks it." He lets that sink in for a moment. "A heavy eye is now on you for what you've done, you will die and the Master may raise you to serve him. His corruption will break your peon God." He stares straight at Karnog. "He knows you were the pick of the axe head that intruded into the Master's domain. Your mud digging deity was behind this intrusion and he will pay. You are warned." A low growl rumbles from within the unholy beast.

"But I digress, you seek the waraxe. Search for a half-orc who traveled a winding rabbit trail east of here. A gate appears by weathered ancient willow tree at precisely moonrise. Although the Master seeks your death, you are small compared to the enemy that half orc serves - Hecate. The Master and Hecate despise each other."

"Your search takes you to the Twilight Demesne which is an umbral forest woven from a thread of the Plane of Shadow in the ancient past. It exists within an infinitely narrow space between where the Plane of Shadow and the Material Plane overlap, neither coterminous to nor separate from either and an be reached from both. Nearly all the demiplane is a labyrinthine pine forest. That is where the Luther's weapon 'Mercy' has been taken."

He pauses to let this sink in and for questions to be asked.

"If this weapon gets to that bychte, twilight will leak into this material plane...it will be the opening needed for war to begin here in your quaint little city ... ground zero."

You can make a sense motive if you like.

"Yes I will accept that as payment for the information you seek."

"I've wasted enough time here. What do you want and what will you pay." The dripping falchion is essentially an extension of it's arm. His patience seems to be coming to an end.

I'm giving you all the opportunity to engage rather than Talbard. But Talbard will eventually step up and speak.

Desmond are you doing anything before the demon's action?

The demon sneers at the foolish dwarfs, "Certainly your kind would not have risked life and limb to tinker with the void." His voice ripples with power. "You can call me General Chaos." The demon is smart enough to know never ever give a mortal it's name for a name can bind. "No a dwarf would not have tampered with the planes that would have been left to one of the humans or a dimwitted elf." His gaze seems to fall heaviest on Talbard, Kalim, Felicitas, then the prone drow. In undercommon: "Yes, your kind likes to dabble with the unknown. That damn spider byche has emboldened some."

"WHAT FOOL BROUGHT ME HERE!!" The creature growls. It's nostrils flare. Then it's eyes begin to scan the chalky circle and he bursts out in laughter. "Broken circle." His gaze crosses each person in the room. "A few of you believe you know power...perhaps a spell or two...rest assured that will be the first person I slaughter." His rank breathe reaches the nape of Kalim's neck.

He eventually pays Grung some attention, "Oh you may be lucky enough to hit me once but they your small brain will addle, like a worm." He growls. "Your wounds will fester with corruption and your blood explode in glorious rainfall."

intimidation: 1d20 + 37 ⇒ (6) + 37 = 43

"Now that I've got your attention...WHAT DO YOU WANT and WHAT IS YOUR OFFERING."

You all figure this his method of bargaining but you all understand that this is a very tenuous situation and pure chaos could erupt. You also know that it is not constrained to the inside the protective circle since the chalk outline has been broken.

I'm going to let this sink in and play out a bit, then I'll roll initiative if need be.

Standing in the middle of table is a horned, winged, wolf-headed demon, it has bone-white flesh onto which have been riveted plates of spiky armor. "YOU DARE PULL ME INTO THIS PLANE!!!! WHO IS THE FOOL.". The creature is stands nearly 8 feet tall, and weighs at least 400 stout pounds, and he is holding a wicked looking falchion that is dripping an inky black oily substance.

All spellcasters if your spell has a SR, please roll that with the spell.

RD 3: Demon

A terrible word is enunciated and the creature disappears from view.

Desmond's attack actually does some damage to the demon and Kalim's black energy envelops the creature.

The black ray sprouting from the sorcerer's hand warps around the demon, she growls angrily as he notes the source of the energy.

Desmond your 40 did not beat his CMD so he gets an attack of opportunity on you.

Unless you can fly he is not flanked.

He starts to chuckle loudly as his dinner whacks at him.

Desmond you don't see any effect form the cold, your blade didn't even knick the the demon.

He spits out a response to Grimm in absyssal,
