We still have time for the conclusion and some epilogue role-playing, but now's a good time to go ahead and roll your Day Job checks if you haven't already done so. I need to create a link for RPG Chronicles, and I'll try to do that in the next day or two.

The bard shrugs at Trajan's prayers, "I hate to say it bud, but these are Sarenrite sacred. They probably care about as much for your prayers as they would for mine. But it is a nice thought. Let's clean up here and get these idiots back for justice, and to further clear our name."

He enjoys writing a detailed report for this one. Finally a good result on a mission. And the wedding was a lot of fun, even with the issues near the end.

"I understand they are Sarenrites but perhaps they won't mind and Iomedae and the Godclaw will hear me and help protect their spirits and their remains. If only I knew of a worshipper of the Lady of Graves to ask for her assistance as well..."

Trajan shoots a completely innocent (yeah right!) look at Hamish.

Talking information out of the wedding guests to find the Hall of Purifying Flame, barging in and telling them their 'home warranty' was about to expire, bravely taking the damage from the trap, the deft way you handled Samara the Insightful, and all of the inspiration and good hope that you've provided us, the Gods will surely listen to you!"

"We shall do what we can to temporarily repair or at least cover the remains until the authorities can send people to properly repair or replace the tombs. I hope they won't be offended but I feel I should at least say prayers for those whose eternal rest has been disturbed."

Trajan takes out his copy of Acts of Iomedae and gives a solemn prayer for the honored deceased.

"Get them, you fools!" snarls Faireven to his oversized allies.

He backs away from Trajan and says "And don't you think you had better guard the door? There are bandits in this area!"

A suggestion spell has been cast. Trajan, please attempt a DC 16 Will save vs a mind-affecting enchantment (compulsion) effect. If you fail, that suggestion sounds eminently reasonable.

Unless you have something in real life currently demanding your time it sounds like the only attention needed is for a few rounds of combat.

Trajan advances into the room and goes to confront the non-enlarged person and smites him just for fun.

Double move, he'll provoke from the enlarged Trajan if he has Combat Reflexes or something similar. Swift action to Smite Fairhaven and I guess we'll find out if he has an evil alignment.

Trajan murmurs a prayer over his nodachi which begins to glow like a torch.

Standard action to activate the Divine Bond on his nodachi, granting it the merciful weapon quality.

Nothing besides getting the mounts. I thought Al'Jahar was here to provide some additional information for the NPCs but it appears we've learned all we can from him.

"I'm afraid I don't know much about proceedings in as lofty as place as the Satrap's Court. I am but a simple merchant, and fortunate to have been admitted to watch the proceedings," says Abu-Targos, looking apologetic. "But I can supply you with mounts. The chapel is less than a day's ride to the north. It is a place sacred to Sarenites, as it houses the tomb of the honored high-priest, Ubaidah Abd-Hikmah. I cannot fathom why these impostors would be headed there. . . . Unless . . . no, even they would not have the temerity to defile such a holy place through tomb-robbery!"

"Thank you very much for the loan of the mounts; speed and time are of the essence. Assume for a moment they would have the temerity, what would they be looking for? This could be extremely important; think of it as continuing the work of your honored Uncle."

Trajan pauses for a moment, hoping to utilize the local knowledge of Al’Jahar Abu-Targos, and asks, "Is it normal for someone like Samara the Insightful to stop the proceedings without revealing the source of the forged documents? I would've bet money the 'source' is either Raamiz ibn-Chadli or his blasted 'vizier.' Al'Jahar, given the shall we say 'intensity' of the justice system in Katheer, how much trouble would Raamiz ibn-Chadli be in for trying to frame us and, in the process, embarrassing someone like Lady Samara or even the Satrap himself?"

Trajan speaks with the merchant, "Greetings Al’Jahar Abu-Targos and well met. We are honored with the presence of the nephew of a Pathfinder as great as Venture-Captain Targos Min-Katheer. Thank you for the information and if you could provide us with a map or details on how to reach the Chapel of Ubaidah Abd-Hikmah, it would be greatly appreciated. Do you know what the imposters might be looking for? Is this ancient cemetery well-guarded or attended? I'm concerned the imposters might harm any guards, workers, or relatives visiting their honored ancestors."

@GM: Any Knowledge check for general information or maybe rumors/stories about what's in/at the Chapel?

If asked about his wounds Trajan will decline any offers of healing saying, "I gave freely to myself to Iomedae and the Godclaw; that they saw fit to claim so little from me is a blessing I will not refuse."

The veiled woman listens carefully, and then nods to an attendant who comes forward with a bundle of letters tied with a ribbon. "And how do you respond to these?" she asks. "They purport to be from leaders of various factions within the Pathfinder Society, outlining a conspiracy to betray the House of Silver by using Farendir Faireven as a hapless pawn."

@Hamish: The scenario explicitly provides that proving your innocence here can be done through role-playing or through a Diplomacy check, so if you want to save your reroll, you can.

As Hamish has the best collection of Knowledge skills, I'll rely on him and any other PCs to prove the letters are forged.

"I ask again, madam, where would the logic be in betraying someone who could provide insight, information, and contacts into even more relics and items of historical importance? For an organization intent on research and acquisition does it not make more sense for the Pathfinder Society to see to it that Master Bashir al-Mudaris is healthy and alive to assist us in our goals? And while I am no expert in information even I can prove these are forged as no Pathfinder would ever misspell these names and incorrectly identify and use these titles! And just who supplied the Court with these lies?"

#2: Since the executioner isn't actively trying to kill us I'm assuming we can take 10 on Knowledge checks. If so then Trajan would reach a 13 in Knowledge (Nobility) and (Religion) and 11 in Knowledge (Planes) to help identify some of the errors.

Trajan, while wearing his Hellknight Plate, will *NOT* be wearing his helm.

”Good morning ladies and gentlemen of the Satrap's Court. As my fellow Pathfinder Zeldana has so passionately spoken of the events surrounding the wedding, I would like to add my own statement. As a Paladin of Iomedae and a Hellknight of the Order of the Godclaw I cannot and will not lie to this assembly. In fact I would gladly accept any use of divine magic to prove the truth in my words. We were sent here to support the marriage of Farendir Faireven to the Lady of Silver and then to escort the gifts Master Bashir al-Mudaris gave to the Pathfinder Society back to Absalom. One should ask, since Master Bashir al-Mudaris gave the ancient relics to the Society, why would we need to steal them? It makes no sense; one steals items they cannot gain by other means. Similarly why would we plot to murder Master Bashir al-Mudaris? If he has, and is willing to donate, such valuable and ancient relics to the Society, would it not make sense for us to do everything within our power to make sure he remains alive and in good health? I will swear on my holy sword, which I willingly submitted to the Honorable Garahn Min-Omaha, I have never and would never consent to such a heinous act! As for the looting of graves I have not done that either and I am not even sure what graves the madam is referring to or where they are located. And murder? As Zeldana previously mentioned she, Hamish, and myself subdued or calmed some of the lions and the elephant. Because we did so, we missed out on the opportunity to pursue the two men who freed the animals. In fact it was our investigation into those criminals that led us to some interesting information and the recovery, not theft, of some of the relics.”

To avoid an even larger 'wall of text', Trajan will summarize the persons and places uncovered so far in the investigation. He will stress the presence of the Erinyes as proof of the evil-doing of those actually responsible for the theft of the relics.

”In closing it was the Erinyes itself who identified Raamiz ibn-Chadli and stated, and I quote, 'You busy-bodies should have let well-enough alone! My Master will have his revenge on the Pathfinders and the ignorant woman who spurned his affections!' I ask the Satrap, in all his wisdom, to see the truth of our words and recognize it is Raamiz ibn-Chadli and his 'vizier', who now sleeps in Hell, who are the real perpetrators of this crime!”

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

I'll wait about 12 hours RL to see if anyone wants to do anything crazy (like try to escape) or have any other preparations they'd like to make before appearing at the Satrap's court in the morning. Unless you try something dramatic, the night in the luxurious cell will pass uneventfully. With a good night's rest, you'll all regain hit points equal to your level and reset your daily use abilities, etc. Please adjust taglines accordingly.

After speaking with Min-Omash, Trajan waits by the door. A servant brings him a small object wrapped in a towel. Trajan thanks the servant and then asks Hamish and Jaakko for assistance in removing his plate armor.

He rises early in the morning, probably before most of the other Pathfinders, and seeks an area furthest from the rest of the group. He begins the day with prayers and recitations from his copy of Acts of Iomedae, calling for divine guidance in the group's upcoming trial.

When the other Pathfinders awaken Trajan will again ask Hamish and Jaakko for assistance this time for putting on his Hellknight Plate.
He smiles to each and says, "I just bought this armor. If I am to die I may as well die wearing it. Praise be to Iomedae and the Godclaw for our victory today. Even though neither of you is Chelish I hope you don't mind if I share a common greeting before battle."

Trajan shakes each man's hand firmly and says, "Strength and Honor."

Having thought through the matter in silence, Tabar acquiesces as well. With all the Pathfinders having turned over their obvious weapons, they're escorted through the streets of Katheer and into what, in any other land, might be mistaken for a wealthy noble's extravagant compound. But actually, it's an extraordinarily opulent prison with "cells" that are elegantly appointed with beautiful rugs, colourful tapestries, and plush divans.

The only reminders you have of being prisoners rather than honoured guests is the heavy iron door and an arcane rune on the ceiling. "You will be brought before the Satrap's court in the morning," says Min-Omash. "Please refrain from violence or spellcasting, as doing so will arm the symbol of death on the ceiling. An evening repast will be brought to you shortly." With a respectful nod, he leaves.

”Alright, our good deed is done. And I’m not even upset, it’s better to screw up doing good than anything else. And it may not even cost us. Boat or tomb? Those are the only leads I recall.”

"The boat in case it sets sail. I don't think the tomb is going anywhere..."

Trajan lifts his visor to give Hamish an 'I told you so' look.

The bard shrugs, ”I’m all for freeing them, though that isn’t our mission and is likely against the laws here. I assume you have a plan to sneak them out of the city easily and back to a slavery free area so they don’t get caught and beat or killed? A plan that won’t require any extra effort from us as we rush to recover the other two items?”

"That's why I pointed out the two issues were in conflict with each other. Unfortunately if the law here allows slavery I must respect lawful authority as part of the Paladin's Code. I just didn't want to be accused of more barbarism from our more 'enlightened' agents by continuing our mission to recover the remaining items..."

Hamish shrugs, ”I guess we have no leads other than the boat. Let’s go there. Unless someone else has a suggestion?”

"Two things and they're at odds with one another. We should hurry because that erinyes won't stay quiet for long and what should we do about the slaves?"

Aiding Hamish's Perception just in case, he can't fail since he'd have +11 with Good Hope.

"Fiends are usually in the thick of things. You're right Hamish they're generally the puppetmasters pulling the strings behind the scenes."

"I guess we weren't so feeble after all. Should we search the area more or find that ship?"

Trajan cleans the devil's blood from his nodachi and gives a prayer of thanks to Iomedae and The Godclaw.

Trajan is down 3 HP thanks to his Lay on Hands healing last round. I made sure to update his tagline last round. :)

@Trajan: If difficult terrain (like a pew) takes up less than half a square, I wouldn't count it. Essentially, you could move down the center aisle without penalty, and then it'd be 10' of movement (an extra square's worth) to climb up onto the stage.

Trajan can finish his movement, and Tabar, Azelwarred, and Zeldana are up.

@GM: I put a goofy shape where Trajan started. It looks like 45' to me where he ended up. He has 30' speed and was double moving since the erinyes was more than a single move away.

Regaining his composure Trajan thanks Jaakko, "Excellent work! And look at the page the journal opened to...perhaps another clue? We need to hurry to the slave huts and find Raamiz."

"Don't worry, Knight of the Nine... some of us are trained for nonlethal take downs. Just keep that sword in its scabbard and he'll be just fiiiiiine...."

"Oh really? Last time I was the one who captured a prisoner while you were standing over a corpse."

The male member of the couple, his eyes downcast, points toward the back of the villa. "Out back," he whispers. "Slave huts."

@Azelwarred & Trajan: You don't find anything unusual in your search of the building.

"Thank you."

Trajan gestures with his head to Hamish and the others and moves towards the back of the villa. Once he's out of sight of the eldery couple, he'll draw his sap.

"Remember we need him for information." as he eyes those who used previously lethal weapons.

Forgot to roll Perception; I was so shocked I rolled a 20 on Diplomacy I almost fell out of my chair. I'll follow Hamish's lead and aid Azelwarred's Perception check; Trajan has a +9 so he can't fail to aid.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29

Trajan will ask the couple, "Be at ease, we are not here to hurt you. We're looking for Raamiz. Do you know where we can find him?"

Trajan lowers his voice, "Do we have any way of bypassing the lock?"

It clicks and Hamish sighs, ”Well, this Raamiz guy is a jilted suitor of the bride too. It all clicks now. Let’s go pay him a visit.”

The bard tries to recall if this nation is one of the few with legal slavery, in case they run across any.
