Davin looks rather confused at Mia. "I wasn't blaming you for anything. I saw the curses on you, and was worried for our safety. Including my new ward, Alia. Because you're right, heroes do the right thing, because it's the right thing. Even if that means we die doing it." He procures a stone from his pocket, which he gives to Zaidel. "This is a wishstone, I was given it when we were reborn, cuz I was clever or lucky enough to question our benefactor's words, which apparently granted me extra wishes. Since I couldn't come up with a final wish, I asked if I could save it for later, and was given that stone in response. I was going to save it for myself, but it sounds like you and Mia need it more than I do. I have no idea if it will work for you or not, but I fully, and consciously give it you Zaidel. I hope it helps."

"Perhaps we can look for your sister, or at least learn of her fate, as we travel. I had an older brother, older sister, and younger bro before coming here, so I totally understand sibling bonds." Davin replies to Alia. Once in town, he notes her moving closer to him. "Not a fan of towns/civilization?" He asks as they make their way to the Pig Roast. He gets them a room at the inn, but offers to sleep on the floor. When Zaidel sends for him, he knocks politely at their door. "I don't know how much more I'll be able to do, but I can give Mia a once over." Casting Detect Magic, 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10, no bad rolls! Spending another Luck point for a re-roll 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21. GM, could I roll an Arcana(or other knowledge) check to see if I might be able to figure out what sort of curse Mia had? If so, I'll spend an Inspiration point to take 20, and cast Sign of Discovery(+2 to a knowledge check) for a total of 31 if Arcana.

Alia Silverleaf wrote: As the group walks she lets down her hood revealing long and pointed ears. She answers questions and relays information about herself. She is under 200 years old, she hasn't kept track. Her family was from the Winter Forest but Ice Bears slaughtered them. She and her older sister Silistra were saved by the unicorn. She loves nature and has gotten along with fey swimmingly figuratively and literally. She has a unique connection with nature as she has not chosen her domain yet. Being shifted to a new leader he should choose, the following are domains that can be chosen: Air, Animal, Earth, Fire, Plant, Water, or Weather. "Where is your sister now? As for which domain you should choose, as Zaidel pointed out, I'm a Primal blooded sorcerer. I have strong ties to nature myself, so Animal or Plant would both be good. Though really, all of those are pretty solid choices."

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 Spellcraft, bad roll. Gonna spend an Luck point to re-roll. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22 there we go. "That tar like gunk was a curse given physical form. It apparently cast Clarion Call which is often used on the battlefield to get the attention of allies or foes. Maybe it was calling to the creator of the curse?" Davin suggests after successfully identifying both spell and substance.

Zaidel wrote:
Davin can't help but laugh at Zaidel's magnanimous introduction. "I'll be lookin out for you, though honestly, as an adventuring company, we'll probably all do our best to keep you safe." He makes it clear he's not speaking for the group, just that it's likely they'll all help out. "New Faces sounds pretty great to me, and yeah, unless we have something else to do, we should get started on traveling there asap!"
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
Davin bows respectfully. "I would gladly accept your ward, provided doing so does not rob you of an extra defender for your domain." Addressing Niversal and Zaidel, he says. "Sorry I chose to stay out here with Locke, but I couldn't just leave him alone. We apparently have a bond like the one tween Warder and Aes Sedai from the Wheel of Time. He would be my Warder, but he's also my friend. It also gave me time to connect with my inner primal nature." He hopes his explanation is enough to soothe any hurt feelings.
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
"Well, I'm not sure how you can repay us, but if you'd like, you can accompany my fellow Chosen and I. We've been tasked with battling the dark souls and keeping Arcanium safe, and having a unicorn as an ally would go a long way towards accomplishing those goals." Davin is a bit at a loss for words, as it's not every day you resurrect a heckin unicorn! and then get to talk to it! 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (10) + 21 = 31 Diplomacy, +1 if it's helpful or friendly. Gah, bad roll, gonna use my Luck power to re-roll. 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (18) + 21 = 39 Re-roll, that's much better.
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
It takes a few moments for Davin to recover from the state of stupefied awe he was in as the unicorn comes back to life. "You are most welcome, though if I am being honest, it was Locke here who slew the fae. Was there a particular reason she killed you, other than she's evil and probably wanted your horn for vile purposes?"
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
Davin grins at Locke "You, my friend, are a total badass. You'll have to tell me about how your powers work at some point. If we're supposed to be akin to Warder and Aes Sedai, it would help if I knew about your capabilities." He stands in awe as the magic of horn and heart returns the unicorn to life. "Holy wow! I can't believe that worked! That was amazing! Such good jobbers Matt!"

Just a general heads up, I am usually not very active, posting wise, on the boards until about 8pm(now) Eastern Standard Time. I check my games upon first waking up, but unless there's some imminent need, I don't really reply till the evening. However, I also stay awake till anywhere between 4:30-6:30am(est), as I 'monitor' my 98 yr grandmother in case she needs anything during the night so my mom can get good sleeps. So, if I haven't posted anything in 10+ hours, it's not that I'm ignoring the game, it's that I am either asleep(due to the above, I get up around 12-1pm est), or busy helping around the house. Also, with the weather getting nicer, I'll be spending time outside setting up our yard, helping my mom with our gardens, etc. Which will cut my ability to post during the day down even more.
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
Wolf, just an fyi, I hadn't replied yet cuz I waiting to see if you were going to post a response to my attempt to call a wolf and my diplomacy check. Would have totally gone with Locke to help, but didn't wanna keep jumping back and forth in time. "Well, let's go do that. That's why we were out here anyways. I assume you killed the 'Banshee of the North'?" Davin says, upon seeing Matthew return.
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
At the fletcher's house. "Alright Mr Delathor, I'll see what I can do." After they finish eating, he excuses himself, and goes outside to attempt his spell. Casting Call Animal, would like to call a wolf(preferably a non corrupted one, lol), but any sort of predator will do. I'll spend an Inspiration point to take 20(total of 28) on my Nature check to figure out what's around, and call what's appropriate. When whatever he calls shows up, Davin greets it politely, speaking to it in it's language. Primal Voice class feature "Hello friend, one was hoping one could convince you to stay here for a time, and protect the two legs that lives here. He is taking care of many young, and could use a fierce guardian like yourself." 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (6) + 22 = 28 Diplomacy. Primal Voice: You can speak with the primal creatures of the world. You gain the ability to speak to animal, plant and vermin type creatures as if you shared a language. This allows you to make Diplomacy, Bluff or Intimidate checks on such creatures and affect them with language-dependent spells or effects, with a bonus equal to 1/2 your class level. Mindless creatures are still immune to demoralize attempts.
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
While skinning "Yeah, with the primal bloodline, which means I'm kinda like an arcane druid, as I have a close connection to nature, animals, and plants. I have extraordinary luck as my super power. Back on Earth, I was nicknamed Lucky or Lucky Monkey, among others." He replies to his friend's questions. "Okay, yeah, I get that, I read the Wheel of Time. Actually, now that I think about it, you kinda remind me of Elyas. Who was a total badass! As awesome as the Asha'Man were, if I could, I think I would rather be a Wolfbrother. That scene in Lord of Chaos, when Perrin calls upon the wolves. 'They have caged Shadowkiller. We come.' gives me chills just thinking about it."
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
As Locke performs his gruesome ritual, Davin does not look away, instead seemingly enthralled by the spectacle. He does his best to aid in the skinning, but lacking any practical knowledge, is not as good as Locke. When Matt shows him which plants are dangerous, and which are safe to eat, the young man displays an impressive proficiency to retain and recall the information. His Super Memory ability On the hunt, the sorcerer is very obviously enjoying himself, letting the power of his blood surge through him. Davin mostly makes the kill while in wolf form, but in between transformations, he rends their prey apart with his bare hands. Vicious Claw cantrip As they sit around the dinner table with with Fletcher(does he have a name, I forget?), Davin offers to further assistance. "If you'd like, I can cast a spell to get a local animal to come to me. I can then try and convince it to stay and guard your home. I can't actually train it just yet, as that takes way more time than we have (Training an animal for a purpose takes a week, I believe), but hopefully it's willing to help out on it's own, for now." 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (17) + 22 = 39 diplomacy I'll post about the next day later, but this was something I wanted to do the last time we were at the Fletcher's house, but I think I forgot. Hope you don't mind Wolf!

Hey all, been spending all of today celebrating Mother's Day with my mom, my 98yr old grandmother, my aunt, and her mom. My brother, two cousins, one of their girlfriends, and myself put together a European style brunch for the moms. We just got a little bit ago(it's 4pm est), though they're still here chatting. Probably won't get around to posting till later tonight, I just wanted to let ya'll know what's up.

You could have joined me as a dire wolf. You could stay out here with me and we could do some hunting." The primal blood that flows within Davin veins stirs and awakens at the thought of hunting with Locke. "Yes, let us hunt. Lead on my friend."

Matthew_Locke wrote: He returns after hunting down the last of the wolves. He hears Davin's words and offers another solution, "I could eat them, their essence will strengthen me. "Ya know, I don't mind you goin all 'lone wolf', since it benefits the group, but I do begrudge you the extra XP you're getting." Davin says with an easy laugh. "I definitely wouldn't mind helping you, so I could get to the next level faster."
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
Back in the clearing, before heading back to town. Davin considers the fallen bodies of the wolves. They were his favorite animal, and it pained him to have kill these apparently corrupted ones. Still, they deserved a proper, respectful funeral. However, he lacks the knowledge to properly skin them. "Locke, do you happen to know how to skin these wolves? We should probably burn their bodies, or at least bury them, but either option will likely take too long."

Jonathan Garrett. wrote: "Then we can confront her in seven, if we have the spells and knowledge to do so." Jon said firmly. "It gives us the best chance of succeeding in getting vengeance and not just being her next set of victims." "I fully agree with this plan. Let's complete some quests, level up, and hopefully in seven days, we'll be able to defeat our foe." Davin says, moving over to physical side with Jon.
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
"Forbid Action won't work if it's an aura effect, as it will affect you before you have a chance to cast your spell. Blindness isn't a sickness otherwise there would be no need for the 3rd level 'remove blindness/deafness' spell. Songbird only increases the DC of a sonic spell you cast. Doesn't help us resist a blindness effect, which isn't sound based. Protection from Evil would be a bit beneficial, as it gives a +2 bonus to saves, but it's only one target, and there's like eight of us." Davin says in reply to the spell suggestions being made. "I'm sorry Zaidel, I really want revenge on the killer of the unicorn too, but I honestly do not think we our strong enough to go after her right now."
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
Davin bends his considerable memory to try and recall anything he might have heard about the 'Banshee of the North' Spending an Inspiration point to get a 20, for a total of 28 K:Nature. He's specifically hoping to learn if she has any weaknesses they might exploit, or if it's possible for them to defend themselves against her blindness ability. Davin moves to stand away from the group, making it clear he is not going with them, at least at the moment. "Jon brings up a good point. Are any of us capable of somehow counteracting going blind? If it's like the Medusa's gaze, we might stand a chance. However, if it's more akin to a Nymph or Shining Child, who create an aura of blindness, we're pretty screwed. And not proper."
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
The +2 comes from: As the legendary sorcerer learns to tap into their magical powers, their power affirms their reality, making them harder to hurt, as if their body were more real than the world around them. The legendary sorcerer receives a untyped bonus to AC equal to their Charisma modifier or class level, whichever is lower. As for fulfilling the somatic and verbal components of Mage Armor, I *think* as long as the creature can make movements(like stomp it's feet or sway it's trunk) and can make sounds, it can cast spells. Even if that's not the case, and I can't cast Mage Armor, my AC is still 23, which means only the three 19s with flanking(assuming the 3rd one has such a bonus) hit.
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
GM Wolf wrote:
It depends on if I was able to have cast Mage Armor in round 2, before I was attacked the first time. If I was, my AC was 27, meaning only nat 20s hit me. If I wasn't able to, only the two 19s with flanking bonuses hit me. Same with the attacks from rounds 5&6, no 20s, and only the 19 hits if it got a flanking bonus. However, if my AC has been 27 from round 2-6, zero attacks hit me, even those with a flanking bonus, as 19+4 = 23. Also, never tripped, as my CMD vs that is a 39.

Is Zaidel's 3x channels enough to heal Davin? Shifting back into human form, Davin addresses their cleric. "Zaidel, I fully agree with you, and your anger. We do need to hunt down and bring to justice the person responsible for this heinous murder. But, Jon is also right. We should not run blindly(ha!) into yet another dangerous situation. He has already died once here, and we might not be able to bring him back should he do so again." The sorcerer says in reply to Zaidel, hoping to convince the satyr to see some sort of reason. Turning to Jean, Davin continue. "You're right as well. Our current track record when it comes to scouting as been gods awful, but that's been in part because we've relied more or less solely on you to provide it. We're a party of Chosen adventurers, but so far, we've acted in pairs or in small groups instead of fully together." He calls up the blue quest/info screen. "How many days are left for this quest? And are there any others nearby we can try to accomplish, before we attempt to confront the Banshee of the North?" He asks aloud. Wolf, out of Arcana, Local, Nature, Planes, and Religion, which would be best to learn more about the Banshee of the North? I'll use my Exceptional Memory ability to take 20 on the check.
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
GM, shouldn't Locke's attack hit? The wolves' AC is 14, so he hit, no? and I believe there's 9 wolves left around Davin, as he's killed 3? Also, I'm dumb and have two attacks a round, a gore and slam. I misread the stat block as either or. Now that he's thinned a bit of the pack surrounding him, Davin takes a moment to analyze the wolves, trying to figure out what's corrupted them. 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 Arcana, no action. He then continues to slaughter the wolves around. 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (4) + 21 = 25 gore for 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (4, 1) + 12 = 17 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (14) + 20 = 34 slam for 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (2, 4) + 12 = 18
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
I would be okay with like 5 subtypes to start, and then maybe another group whenever I level? So six now? Obviously the idea is to eventually be able to shape change into all the various types of creatures(fae, undead, dragons, plants, etc), but if you want to further limit that, I would be willing to discuss possibilities on what's fair for both of us.
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
Assuming I can take actions for prior rounds Round 2 Seeing that the wolves are somehow not scared away by his trumpet blast, Davin girds himself for battle with a quick conjuration spell. Casting Mage Armor, current AC is 23, Mage Armor makes it 27 Round 3 Davin charges one of the wolves attacking Matthew. 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (16) + 21 = 37 gore for 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (5, 1) + 12 = 18 If he can't get to Matthew, he'll direct his attacks at the nearest wolf. Round Four The mastodon rears up on it's hind legs, and smashes another wolf. 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (18) + 20 = 38 slam for 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (1, 5) + 12 = 18

GM Wolf wrote: Davin's present AC is 21 and has 123 hp or some absurd number like that. When you change into something you take those stats, you don't change them. As worded by your super power. OH!! I totally thought it worked **exactly** like Greater Polymorph this whole time! I'm dumb, lol. I will be busy most of today, as it's really nice out weather wise, and my mom wants to start getting the yard ready for the spring. I'm just checking in here before heading out.
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
Sorry, I had a rough last few days IRL, and was about to post an attack, but then saw I had been swarmed. Davin's current AC is 16: 13 base+6 natural armor -3 Dex from size(it drops his dex down to 8). If I cast Mage Armor to boost my AC to 18, would that negate most of the attacks? If not, away we fly!
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
Hoping to not have to kill his favorite animal, Davin wracks his brain trying to come up with some way to scare them off. Wolves were apex predators, and there was nothing that hunted them. Then, a memory floats through the mists of time, of his favorite book series, the Belgariad and it's sequel, the Mallorean. The main character, Belgarion, is stalking alongside a procession in the form of a wolf. He spots a war elephant and suddenly feels very small next to it. "A wolf's bulk is measured in hundreds of pounds, but an elephant's weight is in *tons*." Of course, this was a big pack of wolves, seemingly bent on killing this stranger. Thus, maybe a normal elephant wouldn't do. No, what he needed was mastodon power, black ranger style! He shifts forms, growing to a truly massive size, some eight plus feet in height and weighing upwards of ten thousand pounds. The sorcerer lets loose a blast from his trunk, hoping the sudden sound was enough to scatter at least some of the wolves. Idk what sort of rules might work here, if any, but an African elephant's trumpet blast is around 103-117 decibels. Or about the sound of a jet 1,000 overhead.
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
Whoa, that seems like a question Zaidel should answer :P lol Wolf, you had mentioned that it was okay for me to select one type of creature I can turn into without needing some form of material component for. If that's still the case, I think I'll go the simple route, and pick animal. It might be more powerful and badass to pick something like dragon or giant, but I think it'll be more fun to have to hunt down those components. Would also be okay if I could change my shape to something different during the duration? Ie, if I'm a cat, I could become a raven, and then a horse?
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
Yeah, I'm just trying to see if they have an aura or not. I will offer to look over everybody's items, so once I know which are magical, I will roll my Spellcraft checks(I don't wanna just roll a bunch, especially since I can potentially re-roll via my Luck ability). I'll start with the flute, then Zaidel's items(since we're trading), then Jon's(since I offered him the potion). Locke 4th(since he's my friendo), after that, whoever wants me to try and ID their items.
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
GM Wolf wrote:
I'm not. I'm casting the spell to determine if they are magical via whether they have an aura or not. If they are, I can roll Spellcraft. Detect Magic 1st round will tell me if they are magic items or not. If they are, a DC 15+caster level of the item Spellcraft check lets me identify them.
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
When the loot box items appear in Davin's hands, he chuckles. "These are terrible items for casters! Hey Zaidel, you want this Pan flute? I feel like a satyr without a flute is like a Dryad without a tree." He likewise offers Jon the potion. "I think you'll make use of this more than I will." He'll also cast Detect Magic on the flute, and any other items the group got.

Spending a point of Inspiration to take 20 on my K:Local for a 28. Davin flashes a smile at them both."Greetings Jade, Gin. I am Davin, and we are indeed on the trail of those who slew that poor unicorn. We intend to track them down, and slay them in turn. Perhaps you can accompany, and aid us in that task?" He says in still shaky voice, obviously not yet fully recovered from his being sick. 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (6) + 21 = 27 Diplomacy
Male Human L. Sorcerer 2
After throwing up his breakfast, Davin takes several moments to shakily rise to his feet. He stumbles after the group, clearly still unwell. 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14 Perception. Thus, he is caught completely unaware by the rock creatures. Wolf, what can I roll to ID our 'foes', and to learn about Zarathrel?
