I can think of three:" "First, we try to swim across. I believe that would not be the first choice of our friend Flint." "Second, if one of us has knowledge of boat building perhaps we could build a crude craft to get us across. Although, material to make a craft to carry us may be in short supply in this area." "Third, we could follow the river upstream in hopes of finding a place that would be easier to ford the river." "And while I was explaining our options as I see them, I thought of another. We could build a signal fire that could possibly attract the attention of a boat on the river or out on the ocean that could possibly assist us. The problem with that is the signal may attract unwanted attention." ![]()

Had I known last night that the day would be so warm, I too could have supplied us with water." "I hate to delay too long, but if it would be dangerous to travel in the heat of day, we could certainly wait until evening and travel in the cool of the night." ![]()

![]() With the arrival of Flint, Damandor's heart leaps for joy and he sends thanks to Corellon for the aid that came to them in the form of their Dwarf companion Flint. After Flint fells the ogre, Damandor nods his thanks to Flint for his assistance as he tries to catch his breath. He then goes to assist Anyssa and Grunthor in any way he can. As he does so he says, "I believe it would be wise of us to move a little way away from this battle scene while I offer some healing to our injured companions." Once the party has put a little distance between them and remains of the battle he says, "Those that are injured please gather round me." As soon as they do he concentrates briefly and that now familiar radiant burst of light and energy emanates from Damandor and spreads outward. Channel Energy: 1d6 ⇒ 2, I believe that those who are injured are: Anyssa, Grunthor, Damandor, and I think Flint was down a few hp from the first bugbear attack. "Grunthor, I believe that you may be worse off of all of us, please let me assist you further." Damandor steps toward the barbarian and while speaking a phrase in the language that he uses to cast his spells and placing a hand on his shoulder heals the barbarian of some more of his wounds. Casts Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 Damandor then says, "My friends I am going to need to rest soon before I can do much more healing. I think that while we still have some daylight we should put some more distance between us and our attackers remains. If they were part of a tribe, then there may be more near by." Damandor then prepares to continue their journey. ![]()

![]() As the party is waiting in line, Damandor speaks a few words in the language that he uses when casting spells and then touches Garret. He then repeats the process for each of the party members including himself. Damandor casts Guidance on each of the party members. That gives everyone in the party a +1 to an attack, save, or skill check. It lasts until the player chooses to use it, or 1 minute. Damandor would have waited until they were close enough to ensure that the spell could be used. Damandor, then waiting until the cleric is distracted checking someones papers, summons his courage. He holds his holy symbol in one hand and gestures with his other while chanting quietly. Damandor casts Doom on the Cleric of Hextor. The cleric gets a will save, DC 13. If he doesn't save he take a -2 to attack, damage, save and skill checks. Damandor has the tome, and perhaps the potions as I was the last person to examine them. If someone else would like to carry the potions that is fine, maybe our front line people? As best I can determine, Garret was the last one to have the key to the crate, as he was the one who opened it. Eland had the letters, the scrolls, and the metal bar. The pouch with the gold and silver, and Selenial I'm not sure who has spoken for those. I would be willing to keep Selenial wrapped up in my bedroll, out of sight, and store the coins in my pack if that is acceptable to everyone else. Also, as I stated in a previous post, I think it would be best for Garret to speak for the group, aided by the rest of us. ![]()

The party leaves the warehouse in groups of one or two as to appear less obvious when leaving the building that has become their temporary headquarters. Damandor's mood although a bit somber at the prospects of trying to get out of the city, also has a bit of a gleem in his eye and a slight smile at the excitement of being on the move again. ![]() Well, every who has responded so far seems to like the plan put forth by Damandor. I am going to go ahead and post as if we are going with that plan. I need everyone to let me know what role you are going to play in the "pilgrimage", for example: guard, servant, etc. I think that Garret should be the person to speak for the party when we are at the gate, Damandor just needs to be the one to hand the papers to the guard that we speak to. Damandor will go to Theriandor at the Shrine of Corellon and explain the plan that they have put together to get out of the city. He will ask Theriandor if he will prepare a letter stating that they are going on a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Corellon to the south of Bastion. He also requests that it list each person in the party and what their purpose in joining the pilgrimage is. Once, he returns with the letter, he will return to the warehouse and at the appropriate time will perform his daily meditation and study. He will also spend some of that time studying the tome from the crate. Damandor's Prepared Spells: 0 - Guidance, Stabilize, Virtue; 1st - Doom, Obscuring Mist ![]()

We still may need to negotiate and/or bribe our way out. I would be willing to use some of the money we found at Antius' house for a bribe if needed." "I myself am not practiced in the art of negotiation, but I may be able aid whichever of us is best at speaking, and also with some help from Corellon, hinder the guard at the gate we must speak to, but to prepare for this I will need time to prepare and we will need to wait until tomorrow morning. I will also need to get the nessasary documents from Theriandor. What say ye, is it a good idea?" As we approach the gate Damandor can cast Guidance on the whole party, giving a +1 to Bluff or Diplomacy checks, and to the rest of the party trying to aid the speaker. Also, Damandor can perhaps do some things to hinder the counter checks of the guard that we are speaking to. Edit: Monty, I realized that I can't make an untrained Knowledge (Local) check, but looks like it didn't matter anyway. Thanks. ![]()

When the rest of the party arrives, and is settled in he relates the following: "Grunthor and I have found that Theriandor and those at the Shrine of Corellon are well. If it is agreeable with everyone, I will spend time when I can studying the book to see if we can gain any information from it. Since we seemed to be destined to follow this path that we have been set upon, perhaps this book can lead us." "Theriandor has heard of the sword Selenial, though he thought it only legend. It is said that when Pelor was thrown down by Hextor, that unbeknown to his enemies he left behind a talisman that would be the key to his return to the world, and Selenial is that talisman. Theriandor said that if this really is Pelor's sword Selenial, that we must guard it above all else, for in the hands of the Veiled Whisper, or other powerful groups, the power of the sword could be turned to evil."
