About Cyrielle Rousseau10 Minute Background:
Five Background/Character Concepts: 1. The daughter of a Taldan ambassador and a barmaid, Cyrielle has lived her life struggling to make a name for herself. Her struggle led her from New Stetven to Restov, where she trained in the Aldori school of fencing, adding some of the Taldan method’s discipline to the flamboyant style. 2. Standing just a few inches shorter than most men, Cyrielle never had the raw strength to match them. Instead, she’s learned to be faster and more evasive, winning her duels by outlasting the competition. Her red hair and tanned skin could be described as pretty, but a number of scars running across her face and arms, evidence of her duels, keep her from being beautiful. 3. Cyrielle is rash, tomboyish, and a bit flamboyant. She pursues whatever catches her eye, whether that be a boy, a fight, or a chance to show off. She enjoys the company of others, and tends to be trusting of most anyone. 4. Before leaving New Stetven, Cyrielle learned a small number of songs, and had begun performing them in both the Inn she lived in and in several around the city. 5. Cyrielle has been assigned to an expedition currently in the Stolen Lands to act as a bodyguard. She sees it as an opportunity for glory and adventure, and isn’t taking it as seriously as she perhaps should. Two Goals: 1. Cyrielle wants the Swordlord title. She’s eager to get recognition, in whatever way she can, and getting the title would prove a lot. At least, it would in her mind. 2. Cyrielle wants a duel with her father. She wasn’t exactly neglected, and she doesn’t feel she lost much by not having him around, but it’s more the principle of the thing. Two Secrets: 1. Cyrielle has had trysts with the sons of Houses Medvyed and Lebeda. 2. Unbeknownst to her, her half-brother lives in Restov as well, where he was sent by the Lodovka family to keep an eye on Southern politics. Three People: 1. Sanda Lupei: A childhood friend from New Stetven, Sanda was the innkeep’s daughter. While Cyrielle became tomboyish, brash, and flamboyant, Sanda turned into a “proper” young lady, and the two drifted apart. 2. Swordlord Stavarov: The Swordlord Cyrielle trained under. Terse, insulting, and good at swordplay, Stavarov taught Cyrielle a few tricks, but wasn’t nearly done when she left for the Stolen Lands. 3. Leo Gerasim: Cyrielle’s main rival, Leo has connections to the Surtova family in Brevoy. She was never able to best him in a duel, though she got close a few times. Three Memories/Mannerisms/Quirks: 1. Cyrielle has memories of a tall man with dark hair and a strange-looking sword on his belt. She’s certain it wasn’t her father, but she’s equally sure the weapon was a falcata from Taldor. 2. One bad habit Cyrielle has is smoking. While she’s aware of what it does to the voice, and while she enjoys singing, she picked up the habit in Restov, and it helps her sleep. 3. While living in the inn, Cyrielle lived close to a lot of other people, and ideas about personal space never developed. When she’s excited, she tends to be touchy. Character Sheet:

As a swift action, the cavalier chooses one target within sight to challenge. The cavalier's melee attacks deal extra damage whenever the attacks are made against the target of his challenge. This extra damage is equal to the cavalier's level. The cavalier can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day for every three levels beyond 1st, to a maximum of seven times per day at 19th level. Challenging a foe requires much of the cavalier's concentration. The cavalier takes a –2 penalty to his Armor Class, except against attacks made by the target of his challenge. Champion’s Finesse (ex): At 1st level, a daring champion gains the benefits of the Weapon Finesse feat with light or one-handed piercing melee weapons, and he can use Charisma in place of Intelligence for the purpose of combat feats prerequisites. A daring champion also counts as having the Weapon Finesse feat for the purpose of meeting feat requirements. This ability replaces mount. Order (ex): At 1st level, a cavalier must pledge himself to a specific order. The order grants the cavalier a number of bonuses, class skills, and special abilities. In addition, each order includes a number of edicts that the cavalier must follow. If he violates any of these edicts, he loses the benefits from his order's challenge ability for 24 hours. The violation of an edict is subject to GM interpretation. A cavalier cannot change his order without undertaking a lengthy process to dedicate himself to a new cause. When this choice is made, he immediately loses all of the benefits from his old order. He must then follow the edicts of his new order for one entire level without gaining any benefits from that order. Once accomplished, he gains all of the bonuses from his new order. Order of the Flame Tactician (ex): At 1st level, a cavalier receives a teamwork feat as a bonus feat. He must meet the prerequisites for this feat. As a standard action, the cavalier can grant this feat to all allies within 30 feet who can see and hear him. Allies retain the use of this bonus feat for 3 rounds plus 1 round for every two levels the cavalier possesses. Allies do not need to meet the prerequisites of these bonus feats. The cavalier can use this ability once per day at 1st level, plus one additional time per day at 5th level and for every 5 levels thereafter. |
