Male Elf Rogue 1
![]() 5' step to H11, stab at I10 again. Cyne tries to back away from the fray slowly without letting his guard down. He can't parry both attacks, however, and lets both through. He jabs again at the injured roach, hoping to alleviate some of the duress he is under. 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20

![]() Hmmph. I don't carry food because I can hunt. Of course, I'm not exactly prepared for this...place. If we ever find ourselves in the woods, though, you can count on me for that. I want to look in that hole without letting whatever might be in there get at my face. Aha! Cyne says Can someone put their sword in front of this crevice upright so that it blocks the path, but not the line of sight? Assuming someone cooperates... Cyne puts a torch on one side of the sword and looks on the other, laying down a foot back to get a good vantage point. I have low light vision, too. ![]()
Male Elf Rogue 1
![]() Reporting for duty! Cyne has posted in the gameplay thread. Here's a brief character sketch: Cyne grew up on the fringes of a big city, going out to hunt every day with his father, Eyl. Unlike most elves, his family line carried a much weaker strain of magic ability, but Cyne never let circumstances out of his control affect his outlook. He trained his body to be the best at what he did. He spent hours climbing, running, hiding, and surveying the land so that eventually became quite the hunter. When Cyne was young, his father would have him sit in a tree and watch over the area, but one day after Cyne killed a deer that Eyl couldn't even see, Cyne became the primary shooter. Cyne is extremely disciplined and self-aware, but not completely selfish. He seeks to improve himself so that he can improve his world. He follows the religion of Irori, but in a personal way — not corporately. He will generally help others, especially those who are trying to help themselves. Generally, Cyne speaks succinctly, but not rudely, although sometimes he comes across as too abrupt. He is well-intentioned, but does not always know the right things to say to people at the right time. The most common problem to arise is his penchant for dealing with problem efficiently, but not gently. In essence, he doesn't have great "soft" skills. ![]()

![]() Cyne leaps to his feet at once shouting, Rise and shine! in a loud but not cheerful tone and looks all around the room. Perception with low light vision: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 Assuming since I used a torch we all have our gear? If so... He draws his longbow, homemade from strong yew, and nocks an arrow, readying to draw on any threat. ![]()
Male Elf Rogue 1
![]() Hey, folks, I'm going to be only semi-available for the next week. I'll try really hard to get in at least one post a day, but I have to ask for patience on the days I can't. Thanks. GM Hairy, feel free to have Cyne hang out in the back and fire arrows whereever appropriate. He won't ever initiate combat himself, though. He waits for orders out of habit. He has precise shot, too, so he will fire into melee if necessary. As for personality, he is just doing what he is told. At the moment, that means finding the shrine. ![]()
Male Elf Rogue 1
![]() Cyne lowers his bow, but does not put away his arrow. Let's go then. Cyne will take up the rear of the group, which was always his preferred spot. He keeps an arrow knocked but not drawn an checks all around as the party moves. Perception for whatever needs it next: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13 ![]()

![]() Well, if you do that, it's almost the same as party initiative. Those with high init go first, but after the first round, it's just the same as party-monsters-party-mosters. There's nothing wrong with that, of course. It's how I run some of my games. I think that the system you suggesting will work as long as everyone is comfortable with posting a future move here and there. I'm comfortable with whatever works the best for you. ![]()
Male Elf Rogue 1
![]() East coast, y'all. I'm here. I think I will just go with the simple route this time. Cyne is a member of the militia, and doesn't have any special ties with big organizations. Cyne doesn't openly deny any religion, but he doesn't really care about the Silent. He is a true realist, and applies himself to self-improvement rather than any cause. He is motivated to work for the militia due to the prospect of trying out his skills in serious combat and perhaps make a few connections. ![]()
![]() This is GM_Jacob, aka Isaac of Steyr. I put together an alias for my application. I decided to just go with a human and not worry about elf or half-elf or something. This is a Fighter (Archer) who will serve a long-range attack role along with some scouting at first, add a little combat magic when I dip wizard, then go into arcane archer. I'm not sure how to integrate the backstory yet, but I can give you a bit of personality. Cyne is highly disciplined in everything he does. He takes his time and thinks things through. He practices his archery every day and fletches almost all of his own arrows. He is always prepared and can be counted on to come up with an efficient solution to most problems. However, his thoughtfulness can often lead into him dwelling on things too much and holding grudges very strongly. He can get very passive aggressive if provoked. Killjoy up there and I think it would be cool if we knew each other from elsewhere beforehand, but we haven't worked out how yet. I think we're both waiting on a little direction from the GM on where we fit in the world. I know I'm up for just about anything, backstory-wise. |
