The driving force behind Zedd? Revenge. His whole life, everything about it, revolves around a thirst for revenge. To bring down the Red Mantis Assasins and kill their God Ackaekek- Zedd will not rest until this is done. For several years ago, the Mantis Assasins wronged him in a way few can undderstand.
Akali Pulchellus- Zedd's one true love. Born into a wealth, uncaring family and intended to be wed to a wealthy Chelaxian, Akali ran away from home, only to run into Zedd, a Samurai of the Order of the Blue Rose, and a relatively personable young man with nothing but time and a thirst for adventure on his hands. Quickly the young couple fell deeply in love and forgot their pasts.
Their pasts, however, were not so quick to forget them. Driven by rage, the Pulchellus family enlisted the help of the Red Mantis Assasins to eliminate Akali for betraying their family and dishonoring them so.
Nobody Stops the Red Mantis Assasin on the hunt. A week before the couple was to be wed, the group of Mantis Assasins, clothed in their bloodred garb and their insect masks, assasinated Akali. Zedd had fought as hard as he could to save her, but he was no match for a single one of the supernatural assassins, let alone the group of four that had been present. Wounded and nearly dead, Zedd thought -only- of revenge. Revenge unto all who had caused this harm unto his love, Akali.
Some time later, aafter a miraculous recovery, Zedd, bearing the thick scars across his torso and chest where the serrated edges of the assassin's blade had rended his flesh apart, Zed immediately began investigating why this had happened to his beloved Akali. Quickly, Zedd discovered the cause of her death. In his rage, he slew the entire Pulchellus family for their crime. Zedd was nop longer a Samurai of the Order of the Blue Rose. He was a Ronin Samurai, and woe unto all who would think to stand in the way of the last targets of his revenge: the Red Mantis assasins and their God, Achaekek.
