Considering that I quit purchasing Pathfinder maps when I switched from primarily in-person games to primarily online games, I'd say this is good news. Converting PDF files never felt like it was worth the effort, so I quit using them altogether and switched to a combination of (mostly) Gabriel Pickard's work and stuff from the Heroic Maps line. I love Paizo maps, though, and this will make me a customer again! Woohoo!

Hi everybody!

I'll be moving to Vancouver, WA in just a few weeks, and I'm leaving behind an awesome group of gamers in North Carolina. I'm hoping to join a group soon after the move, or failing that, start a new group. I'm a longtime GM, but I enjoy the player's side of the screen as well.

As far as game systems go, I've recently fallen in love with Savage Worlds, and I'd prefer that if I end up as the GM of the group. I love both sci-fi and fantasy, so I'm sure we can work something out.

If somebody else is running the game, I'll play just about anything. I'm particularly interested in giving D&D 5E a shot, but like I said, I'll play whatever.

Feel free to respond here, PM me, or email me at theoutsyder83 [at] outsydergaming [dot] com.

I have worked with one of my players on a PC martyrdom scene that involves the group needing to steal a staff of power from a wizard and then one PC breaking the staff to save the rest of the group. (The player will soon be leaving the campaign and wants his character to go out with a big bang!)

Here's the issue: The PCs are all third and fourth level, which means according to the NPC equipment chart, nobody they fight at this level should have access to such an item. I'm not worried about the item throwing off the balance of the campaign because it will be destroyed in the same session they receive it. What I want to know is: How much should the challenge rating of an NPC should be adjusted for having equipment that is far above his level? I'm thinking this NPC will probably be somewhere in the range of 5th to 7th level, but I'm not sure how much difference the staff will make. Obviously it makes him stronger... but by how much in terms of CR?

I can always just eyeball it, but I was wondering if there were any official guidelines anywhere? or at least someone who has fiddled with the idea already?

Thanks ahead of time!

I'm trying to put together a group of players for an Underdark-focused campaign in Hickory, NC. More information here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FNhvF7gOjCcyChP4eQOsYjbqpXfJ5yBJPGPTxJn fnSQ/edit?usp=sharing

Hi everyone!

I'm a latecomer to the D20 Modern game, although I'm a veteran D&D player. I just recently began a campaign that I'd like some feedback on.

It's an "everything but the kitchen sink" campaign called Spectrum Shock. The campaign draws from quite a few D20 books (all of the D20 Modern books I own and some D&D 3.5 materials), and I've modified combat just enough to use some tactical miniature wargame elements.

The tactical miniature wargame aspect is what I would most like to get feedback on. We're using terrain and some movement rules from Warhammer 40K and things have been a blast so far. I was looking to see if anyone else had tried anything like this before and if so, find out if there were any troubles they ran into down the line that I might avoid.

Feel free to leave feedback here or on the blog. Thanks ahead of time!
