I recieved my darklands starter set, but three of the fliptiles are damaged:

tile 1

tile 2

tile 3

overview

All three of them have these weird round marks, one one side, but not the other. Its as if they got stuck in a machine? The top coat and the color below is scraped away.

Is it possible to replace these three tiles?

Hello, I just received my email for Order # 7630302. I will recieve 5 items. The email states I will receive these in five packages?
One items is a replacement for a damaged item and while stated its a separate package, does not count for shipping.
The four other items however, each gets charged shipping separately. Making a grand toatal of $21.79.
I find this to be excessive. Is there a way this can be combined? I have received flipmat/advenutepaths together in one envelope before, and last shipment had three books (2AP and one module) in one envelope, so I cant imagine why it should all be separate this time.

Hey Everyone, I am looking for three people for the Dead Suns adventurepath for Starfinder.

I already have one person who wants to play.

There is no player guide for this AP. There really arent any real prerequisites for this AP, but it helps if your character has some ties to the Starfinder Society. You could be wanting to join the organisation, or you could do contract work for them.
Races: Core/Legacy
Classes/Themes: All are allowed.
Ability scores: standard 10 point buy.
Starting wealth: 1000 credits
Starting level: 1

No third party.

We'll do recruitment based on your submission.

I have five spot available (one is reserved) for my run of The Citadel of Flame during PbP gameday VII.
Start is the 13th of August.

Recruitment is on a first come first serve basis. First five who are interested will get the spot.

Scenario info:
A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 5th level characters (Tiers: 1–2 and 4–5).

Once the home to a cult preaching self-sacrifice by immolation in order to achieve paradise, the Citadel of Flame in Qadira's Meraz Desert was presumably wiped out decades ago after Sarenrae dervishes led a crusade to end its morbid message. An enormous sandstorm swallowed both the citadel and the army attacking it, burying both beneath hundreds of feet of sand. Thought lost forever, the citadel's rediscovery prompts the Pathfinder Society to send you deep in the unforgiving Meraz to finally close the book on Qadira's most mysterious cult.

I've put in the pre-order for the Starfinder pre-painted Iconic Heroes set.

The website lists set 1 as 35,99 and set 2 as 39,99.
I saw in my confirmation email that set 1 was charged as 39,99.

Can this be fixed?

This is part of The play by post Gameday VI

Starfinder Society: Quest Pack #1:Into the Unknown

Short blurb:
The Starfinder Society needs a team to investigate a distress beacon. Explore the future of science fantasy with five quests featuring urban brawls, frontier gunfights, starship combat, and more!

Long Description:
A series of six Starfinder Quests designed for 1st-level characters. When a mysterious visitor comes to Absalom Station selling items belonging to a lost Starfinder, the Starfinder Society takes note. The PCs are dispatched to discover out how the recent arrival found these items, leading them on a series of quests beyond the Pact Worlds and into the stars. “Into the Unknown” includes five, 1-hour adventures that take the PCs from exploring Absalom Station, to partaking in starship combat, to exploring an alien world. The fifth adventure in the series provides a stunning conclusion that takes the PC’s previous accomplishments into account for a climactic final showdown against an enemy starship.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

The crunch:

I'll be starting this in the second slot of the gameday, which runs from October 6th to November 17th.
This will give me the chance to survive con-season before giving this a go.

Pregenerated characters will be available. If you want to try out Starfinder and/or Starfinder society, this is a great place to start. The quests will cover the major types of play, so you get to experience everything in bite-sized chunks.

There will be room for six players.

Dead Suns:

Water laps steadily at the pier as sailors, laborers, and merchants rush busily around Absalom’s port. The venture-captain’s summons called for a meeting aboard the Sixwing Drake, a sleek sailing ship.
The Drake’s captain, a Varisian woman and fellow Pathfinder named Zarah Zendrani, stands at the helm of her vessel. “It’s not like Valsin to be late,” she mutters, furrowing her brow.
As if on cue, a tall and meticulously groomed man pushes his way through the crowd and up the gangplank, cursing audibly. “Whoever
supervises this mess of a port needs to be dumped in the sea!”
he grumbles.
The tall man looks around at those gathered before him. “Just the
group I requested. Perfect. I’m Venture- Captain Ambrus Valsin, and I took great care in selecting just the right Pathfinders for this assignment.”

Valsin reaches into his belt pouch and withdraws a small, folded paper before continuing. “A few days ago, I received a curious note from a rather unexpected source. It’s not every day that I get a request from an agent of the Aspis Consortium.” Captain Zendrani’s eyes widen, and Valsin smiles knowingly. “But Magali Delroya does not appear to be your typical Aspis agent. As you surely know, the Aspis Consortium pursues a variety of activities across the Inner Sea that the Pathfinder Society finds abhorrent. It seems that Delroya has been working with them for some time, but can no longer stomach the snakes herself. She wants to stop a shipment of an experimental drug from leaving Diobel later this week. It’s bound for a number of locations across the Inner Sea region. According to Delroya, she can’t ask the local authorities for help, because the Aspis Consortium has already struck a deal with a faction of the Kortos Consortium, a powerful merchant collective. Her hands are tied, so she’s come to us for help. In this note, she outlines three different tasks that would help to disrupt the Aspis long enough for her to move the shipment to a secure location, out of the clutches of the consortium. Once you accomplish two of these tasks, she’s willing to meet with you, but not before.
“Normally, I wouldn’t trust an Aspis agent at any hour of the day. But our sources in Diobel have confirmed the Aspis and Kortos consortia’s activities. Everything checks out, so we are presented with a unique opportunity. If we help Delroya, we might not only strike a financial blow against the Aspis Consortium, but we could also reveal their dealings with the Kortos Consortium—and possibly prevent their arrangement from turning into a more formal alliance. Furthermore, we hope to stop this drug from spreading across the Inner Sea region, and if we—if all of you—do a good enough job, we might even convince Delroya to join the Society. A turncoat agent would be a valuable asset in our ongoing run-ins with the Aspis Consortium.
“Take some time to look over Delroya’s note and the tasks she has set for you. If you have any questions, now is the time to ask.
Remember, the Aspis Consortium is a long-time enemy of the society, but the Kortos Consortium, while certainly suspicious, is not our enemy. It is a complex organization with many factions, and we should avoid antagonizing any of them, except when necessary to oppose the Aspis Consortium.”

At long last, the Pathfinder Society has reassembled the Numerian device known as the Sky Key. Initial tests suggest it is capable of projecting a location’s past into the present, allowing Society agents to peruse books from destroyed libraries and speak with echoes of long-dead heroes. Now that it has perfected the Sky Key’s controls, the Pathfinder Society is prepared to extract a slice of Absalom’s history and bring it into the present; however, there’s no telling what might be waiting inside—or who in the present might wish to wield the same power.

---

It wont be long before we start. I'll open the gameplay threat a few days before we start so character discussions can get underway.

Im opening the discussion threat now so you can get to know eachother abit out of character if you want, and do some character discussions. Due to the fast paced nature, its good to know some out of character mechanics about each of your characters.

The fluff:

The crunch:

As this is the special run for the PbP game day, it will be subjected to a few more rules.

First, the PbP has a hard start and end date, this is August 27th-October 11th.
We cant start earlier, and we cant go over time.

Since this is a timed scenario ran across multiple tables, I will expect at least one post a day for each participant, in order to keep up with the other tables.
If you cant post, let me know as soon as you can, as we can bot you.
If you dont want your PC botted, you might want te reconcider joining.

The tier is 3-4. This means I will accept characters of level 3 and 4 only. A multi table special has tiers for all levels, so if you are below or above this tier, please find an appropriate game.
(more games will get added as time progresses, so check the PbP sigh up site regularly here)

Please post below with your applying character, including level and class. Please also make sure that the character you apply with will be available from August 27th to October 11th.

I will run the game here on the forum, so you will need to have the character profile for that character up to date. At a minimum I want to be able to see basic info:
HP | AC | Touch | FF | Fort | Ref | Will | Percption | Init |
This will help speed things up because it will allow me to make certain rolls for you if needed.

And last, if you're new to PbP, dont be intimidated by all this. If you need help, ask. If something is unclear, ask. We are all here to have fun :)

Resting in a natural cove along the cliff-lined Lost Coast region of Varisia, on the edge of the Varisian Gulf, Sandpoint is a medium-sized city that exemplifies the diverse people of the country. While only about thirty miles northeast of the city of Magnimar and technically under its rule, Sandpoint benefits from its isolated position in its ability to remain fairly independent. The most striking feature is the ruined beacon of the city that extends high above the cliffs of the coast, reflecting the ancient empire of Thassilon that existed here centuries before the present town was settled.

Four powerful families from Magnimar had designs on settling the region where Sandpoint now stands, and rather than work against each other, they consolidated their efforts and formed the Sandpoint Mercantile League. These four families, the Kaijitsu (glassmakers and jewelers), the Valdemars (shipbuilders and carpenters), the Scarnettis (loggers and millers), and the Deverins (farmers and brewers), sailed north to claim their land after securing the rights from the Magnimar Charterhouse. Yet when they arrived, they found the place already settled by a particularly large tribe of Varisians, who held the region as a traditional place to spend the winter.
Unwilling to change course, the Sandpoint Mercantile League began a series of talks with the Varisians, promising them an important place in the new township. Unfortunately, after a week of talks seemed to go nowhere, an impatient man named Alamon Scarnetti took matters into his own hands. Rounding up a group of his brothers and cousins, the Scarnettis mounted a murderous raid on the Varisian camp, intending to kill them all and leave evidence implicating local goblins for the deed. Yet the Scarnettis, too drunk and overconfident, only managed to kill five Varisians before they were themselves forced to flee, leaving behind three of their own. The incident caused a several-month delay, but eventually amends were made and the town of Sandpoint was born.

Ok everyone time to start! I hope we will all have fun together.

First things first: What AP to play? I've deliberately not picked anything yet, as there are too many good APs to play.

PFS sanctioned AP's are:

Rise of the Runelords (I have a preference for this, but do not let that decide for you)
Carrion Crown
Jade Regent (not actually an option as one of you is already playing this, but I'm listing it for completion's sake)
Skull & Shackles
Shattered Star
Reign of Winter
Mummy's Mask
Iron Gods (I am already playing this myself, so not very handy)
Giant Slayer.

For short descriptions of the stories, you can check the AP's page here

Once we decide on the AP, you can all start building a character. Pretty much everything goes, but I have a few character building rules:
- 20 point buy, or you can roll for your stats. But if you roll, you're stuck with it. No going backsies because you rolled bad ;)
- I have no banned content, but if you want to play evil, you have to post your character concept, and the others get to vote on it. Evil in a neutral/good party can work, but the team has to be on board for it.
- If everyone decides to be Evil, that is fine by me.
- As a GM I do get to veto your character concept it its too insane ;)
- Campaign traits for the AP we are playing are allowed.
- All races are good, but if you want to play something really weird or overpowered, you got to have a good story for it, and I might impose a few drawbacks on you.

While everyone's PbP may vary, I find Painlords guide to PbP a good read. It has advice for both players and GM's and its a good read. Check it out here.
Lets all have a great adventure!

Oh mighty advice forum! I come to you for aid!

I've been thinkin about building a Nagaji Bloodrager, going into Dragon Disciple. Natural attacks build.

So far my idea is to go crossblooded for Dragon and Abyssal, for going Large as you rage. Rageshaper archetype for more natural attack shennanigans.
Since crossblooded tanks your willsave, and the fifth level Bloodrager gain doesnt really impress me, I figured a lvl dip into another class would help out. A level of chained monk boosts your saves astronomically. It also helps you with a lot of abilities that you get. With Feral Combat Training, you can add those nice monk goodies to your claws.
Downside is, most of those goodies go of your monk level, or every 4th level of none monk, so you wont be able to use them a lot.

To take creative use of the PFS first level rebuilding, I was thinking about going first level normal Bloodrager, then before hitting level two, rebuild into crossblooded bloodrager and then take the level of monk as second. With the Indomitable Faith trait and a level of monk, you end up with a net will save of +1. Not stellar, but doable.

I was thinking Str 18, Dex 12, Con 14, Int 6, Wis 10, Cha 16. This is after racials.

So far I like my idea, but I am looking for advice to make it more optimal. I'm not looking for super cheese, but a nice brie would be good ;)
I think the monk level could benefit from an archetype, but I am not sure what. The 4 levels of bloodragers are a must, otherwise I wont have the spellcasting to go into Dragon Desciple.

What do you all think?

Rise of the Runelords map link:

Welcome to the discussion thread. Out of comment remarks not related to the game going on, and other discussions can go here.

One thing I advise to make everything run smoother:
Edit your profile, and in the class/level entry , put in a small stat block like the following:

Alchemist 6 (hp: 52/52 | AC: 18 | T: 12 | FF: 16 | Fort: +7 | Ref: +7 | Will: +2 | Init: +2 | Perception: +9 | Darkvision 60ft.)

It makes it easy to grab certain things, like at a glance telling if i hit with a monster's attack roll, or if an ability calls for a reflex save, i'll sometimes roll for you to speed up play ( if you have something that modifies it on the fly, you can apply it after the fact, just say in your next post that you want to use it ), or if everyone needs to make perception checks, initiative checks, etc. i'll just post a block of dice rolls, and put you all in init order.

I just had a weird error pop up. Wednesday I ran the Disappeared again (love that scenario!) and now I got the message:

Player has already run scenario at session # 1 of event # 48425 DGG on August 14, 2014.

I have run the Disappeared three times now. The first time I assigned GM credit to my -3 character. The second and third sessions have no GM credit assigned.
The session from Wednesday is #60568

Either I am missing something, or something weird is going on. I also think its keeping the table from generating GM star credit, as this should have been my 44th, while the site tells me I am still at 43.

I will start GMing Plunder and Peril for PFS for a group. Since modules dont have an official PFS intro, I made a venture captain briefing and knowledge checks to introduce players into the module.

Before I post it on the GM shared Prep site, I am posting it here, hoping some feedback will improve it.

If there are any grammatical errors, let me know. English is not my first language (in case anyone wonders, I'm Dutch).

nice and long briefing:
Its barely morning when you stand on the Absalom Docks. The day before you were approached and selected for a mission. Not many details were given, but you were told you would travel to the Shackles.
Now, in the pre-dawn mist, a ship docks before you. A motley crew starts to quickly unload crates, while fellow Pathfinder load them into carts before driving off.
You are quickly ushered aboard the Grinning Pixie.

Once the Pixie makes it out of port, Venture-Captain Calisro Benarry calls you into her cabin. Half a head taller then most humans, she's an intimidating sight to see. Waving away any complaint or question you might have, she motions you to sit down.
“Listen to me well. Recently the Arcadian Mariner's Lodge picked up some rumors. Actually, they were barely that. More like whispers. Whispers in the dark. But the Decemvirate found those whispers to be very exiting. And that is why you and I are here.”
Benarry paces trough her cabin. “The rumors that reached the Decemvirate ears pertained to the lost treasure of the legendary captain Jemma Redclaw. Long thought lost, some people have been whispering that the location of the treasure has been found.”
The captain slightly pouts, “the Decemvirate isnt interested in the treasure itself.”
She sighs deeply. “Their actual interest in is its location. Many songs and legends exist about captain Redclaw, but not much is known about where she had her lair. The most consistent rumor is that she hid herself in some ancient ruins.” She raises an sarcastic eyebrow, “and we wouldn't be the Pathfinder Society without some healthy interest in some dusty ruins, now would we?”
Finally Benarry sits down. She folds her fingers together, looking at you seriously. “That's about the most I can tell you. Anything more is speculation. I am to take you to a town called Lillywhite. We should arrive in time for the annual Rum Punch festival. That will give you some cover. But once I drop you off, you're on your own. I would stand out like a Gnome at an Orc barbecue. Chances are that you will need to muster on a pirate ship to get to where you need to go.”
Benarry's eyes glimmer and she grins. “Now I know you are not exactly a professional sailer, and that might impair your chances. But dont worry. Its a few weeks until we reach the shackles. I'll make a privateer out of you yet.”

Knowledge checks.

Knowledge Local

15+ The Rum Punch Festival is an annual religious tradition honoring Cayden Cailean that is celebrated primarily along the western coast of Garund. It commemorates a Sargavan slave escape that occurred in 4686 AR at the port of Crown’s End. The escape involved three large slaver ships crammed full of slaves captured from Sargavan docks and the Bandu Hills, bound for sale at the slave markets of Bloodcove. Prior to setting sail, the crews of the ships gathered for a celebratory drink, each consuming a few mugs of rum. Surprisingly, the crews of all three ships got roaringly drunk despite consuming no more rum than usual. Many slavers fell unconscious in positions that left their key rings dangling within reach of the slaves in the ships’ holds. As the slaves freed themselves, five small seabirds flew past the ship. A few worshipers of the Lucky Drunk among the escapees took the amazing potency of the rum as a sign that Cayden Cailean had intervened to give them a chance to free themselves, and believed the five birds had been sent by his herald Thais. As a result, the escaped slaves followed the birds and eventually found a small beached ship that they managed to launch and sail to the Shackles.
The story spread, and Cayden’s faithful began celebrating the anniversary of the escape a few years later. As the tradition grew, it came to be named for the power of the rum that had given the escapees their chance at freedom. The festival is still most common in the Shackles, though it has begun to slowly spread elsewhere in the Inner Sea.
20+ Lillywhite is a small town on Motaku island. The Rum Punch festival is an honored tradition. The celebration involve not only heavy drinking, but also several drinking challanges and a parade, celebrating the slave escape. Its a festival beloved by all, and not participating might actually draw unwanted attention.

Knowledge history, arcana.

15+ Jemma Reclaw was earlier known as Jemma Redblade. With her Ship the Fearsome Tide and a secret base of operations, she attacked any target she wished—including other pirate ships. Her fame and influence spread, until the day she grew overconfident and assaulted Bloodcove with a single ship. Redblade was badly defeated and she lost an arm in the ensuing battle, but still she managed to escape with most of her crew alive.
20+ Jemma Redblade was not seen for a year after her defeat at Bloodcove. When she returned she had a new crew on the Fearsome Tide, and her arm had been replaced by a fearsome red metal claw, earning her the name that would become legend: Jemma Redclaw.
25+ For the origin of her clockwork arm, Jemma Redclaw herself told various inconsistent stories: that she’d had it custom-built in Alkenstar, stumbled across it while in Numeria, or even stolen it from the Red Redoubt of Karamoss outside Absalom.

I kept the title free of spoilers, but I am having trouble with the final map, Ghoral-Ray.

This map has 10 feet squares... This will make the map enormous! Even when you cut it into pieces. Just the first part, before the secret door will be 21 inches, or 108cm, wide!

I am planning on cutting it into three parts:
L1 to L6
L7 to L13
L14 to L19

This will give me three separate maps to work with, but it will still be quite large.

I have not run thornkeep yet, but I know the first map also has 10 feet squares.
Can people give me some tips to manage this?

On saturday I will be running a couple of tables of We Be Goblins. I used the "let us know if you need more then 10 numbers" option and send an e-mail to pathfindersociety@paizo.com.
That was six days ago and I have not yet recieved a reply.

I might be impatient, but time is getting a bit short for my prep now. And I would love to give people a number as a way to get them to register (many of the people I will be running for have tabletop experience and I would love to convert them to PFS).

Can anyone give me a hand? Does it normally take a long time to hear something back? (and yes, I did check my spam folder, nothing there)

Last night this came up, and we could not find a clear solution. There are many discussions about what happens when a flying creature grapples you... But only one I could find about what happens when you grapple the creature.

And to make things more complicated, on our situation a feather token: Whip was used.

The creature in question had four legs and one set of wings. So it actively used the wings to keep flying.

When the whip was used, nothing specific was called out. Of course hindsight is 20/20, so I could have asked if they wanted to specifically grapple the wings... But that did not happen.

In the end we went with the grapple reducing the creatures flight check, which it made, and in the second round it got pinned, making it dangle from the whip.

We kinda made this all up to keep the combat going. But I would like to know from you all how to officially handle this, if there even is a way.
