"UGH! E-EXCUSE ME I AM A LADY THANK YOU VERY MUCH! I-I am the epitome of m-manners!" Clarice blushed shocked at her companion's remarks."L-lets all forget I said that, yes? Oh dear..." she covers her face with her palms. "But CHASTITY?! Dear lord, that would be dreadful! she whispered to herself.
"HURGHBLBLBL blblbbblblburgh" Clarice almost forgot that she was underwater hiding her shame as she tried to speak to Maldrek. She peeped out of the water, staring intently at the wall, trying not to directly look at any of her companions. "If you're talking about that gorgeous hunk of a man that was, yes I definitely saw him..." she sighed staring into the mists, her eyes in some sort of trance. She snaps out of it immediately. "He seemed out of place from the rest of the creatures around here... He's just so... clean a-and...and HANDSOME" "But yes, I suppose we can talk to him. But let's not screw it up and make a bad impression, yes? Clarice said, ever oblivious to her own manners.
Clarice was shocked as they were all ushered in the bath TOGETHER. Did the madam know that she was of the female persuasion?! THE CALAMITY OF IT ALL! How can she take a bath with all these men around?! She looks around, and shrieks as she saw Melfoil already showing off his birthday suit. "H-HAVE YOU NO SHAME?! Clarice curled into the corner and cries, she just wants to have a nice bath BY HERSELF. With a copious amount of courage, she stands up, takes off her armour, leaving only the white cloth undergarment dress on her self. She moves carefully towards one of the baths, grabbing a towel along the way, the mixture of tears and her strong effort to squint her eyes as much as possible, was enough to blur her vision as to not see anymore nakedness. Clarice chooses the bath furthest away from Melfoil and fully dipped herself in there, for an uncomfortably long time.
Clarice delighted at the sight of the tavern, quickly burst through the door "BATH! WHERES THE BATH?! she exclaimed as she looked around the room, looking for the so called "Maddy". As Clarice scoured the room with her huge eyes, she did a double take as she sees a perfect vision of her future ex-husband/prince. What a sight to behold! (compared to the other mutated creatures around her anyway) . Clarice was taken aback, as she entered into a daydream... The man radiated a warm gold and pink glow, his hair blowing in the wind as his sour expression turn into a dreamy, sultry smile, as she imagined him beckoning her to his embrace. She goes to him, and they meet with a kiss. The days pass as they watched the cotton candy clouds above them turn into petals as they walked down the aisle, Leon crying on one side, Maldrek singing beautiful wedding songs, and Melfoil tossing bits of rice and petals into the newly weds. Everything fades as you hear soft cries in the distance, and suddenly, she finds herself on a hospital bed, with him on her side and their beautiful baby boy was born. They looked at each other, peaceful and happy, an image of a beautiful perfect family... Clarice snapped out of it, quickly realising her predicament. She was not well dressed or clean for such a momentous meeting! Clarice hurriedly tried to find Maddy, hoping to get a room, a hot bath, and a chance to mend her muddied and tattered dress.
Clarice couldn't help but feel a deep sense of guilt as they walked away from the old tree. "I'll come back for you... I promise" she thought. ***************************** Clarice, looking dishevelled, quickly moves on to one of the guards. Desperate to get their attention, trying to compensate for her small stature, she starts hopping while flailing her hands in mid-air.
Clarice nodded "Would you be able to endure one more day, Wise Old Tarvash, sir?... Promise that we will come back and help you! Even with the strength of youth, some of us will not be able to withstand more suffering." Clarice bowed to the old tree out of respect. "I've no indication of how strong these crows are and I've used most of my better spells. I think it would be ill advised for us to fight until our next rest." Clarice looks up at the crows above, her eyes tired and stressed. "But... if it REALLY comes down to it..." A slight expression of panic appeared in Clarice's face for a micro second as she imagined another gruesome fight with big scary crows " I- I'm sure a couple of us would still be able to fight, but not without great risk..."
Clarice emerged from the giant frog, with a loud "BWAHAHRGHHGHELBLBLB" she slipped while walking down its slimy tongue, face first on the floor as she slides down to the ground. She looks up in horror realizing what she just came out of. "A-a shower... I... I need a shower She stands up and collected herself. Clarice looks towards her comrades... one of them seemed to aggravate a strange creature. " LEON NO!" She screamed out But alas it was too late... Leon was attacked by the beast, and she was left to stand with her face resting on her palms. "Let's head out before we DIE out here. We just got out of that... thing... and I don't know about you boys but I would really like to be well inside the safe confines of a giant wall and utilising the comforts an inn can provide" She starts running towards the city, hoping to never come back of the wretched place.
"W-what... what was that?" Clarice looked to her comrades, as she dabs blood off her face with a white handkerchief. The sense of terror visible through her eyes. "I... I don't remember that happening at all. Might be an illusion that this place is showing us. But why?" Clarice stands up and straightens her dress "But yes I agree... Let's get out of here. I've seen enough of this wretched place." For Sebastian:
"Do you know what that was Sebastian? Er I'll just put any telepathic conversations with Sebby in a spoiler thing. It's not really that like crucial or weird or anything, its just there for RP purposes I guess
Clarice starts kissing her blade, overwhelmed by the excitement of victory. "OH SEBBY I KNEW WE COULD DO IT!!! Its the testament of our combined power!!!! OH ILL NEVER LET YOU GET OUT OF MY SIGHT EVER" as she continues to kiss her blade, bits of the blood makes its way into her chapped lips, the hunger from before arises again. She starts licking her blade, then her fingers, her mouth watered at the sight of ... The feast.... In front of her. "Ii--its mine. All mine" she slowly reaches for the flesh. 1d20 ⇒ 20
"Its okay Sebastian.. We can do this." Clarice huffed, nervous about the Warden's next move. She growled at him and with speed and effort she strikes the warden with her flaming blade, simultaneously casting a frost spell with her left arm and transferring it on Sebastian before striking again. Flaming Black Blade Strike: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 10 - 2 = 13
Flaming Black Blade Strike with Frigid Touch: 1d20 + 10 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 10 - 2 = 28 dmg: 4d6 + 1d4 + 6 + 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2, 2, 6) + (4) + 6 + (5) + 2 = 29
Clarice moves over to the wormbeast closest to Maldrek, her arm charges with electricity. Clarice strikes with her spell and blade, a symphony of blue and red trailed behind her deadly dance. Shocking Grasp Melee Touch Atk: 1d20 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 3 = 12 if hit: 5d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 2, 1, 2) = 9 Flaming Black Blade Strike: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

OR I JUST WONT DO ANY DMG AT ALL FFFFFFF
Guys... Im going to go full anime RP here okay, my attacks probably gonna fall short cause im just buffing for the first round... but that doesn't mean I CANT PRETEND TO BE COOL ********************** "You and me Sebastian, together at last." Clarice found bravery, as she reunited with her blade. She grins towards her newfound opponents and unsheathes her blade in elegant form. "To carve the flesh of those who oppose us;" With her claws, she traced on its body as glowing inscriptions appear from where her fingers travelled. Activating Black Blade Strike Buff "To scorch our enemies with our rage's inferno" The blade glows the color of lava. Buff: flaming on the blade "And to strike with no mercy, may our focus be true." She makes her move as she completes her ritual, her movements resemble a dance-like pattern. She flanks from the right of the first worm beast. "Together we shall annihilate our adversaries; THAT IS OUR DECREE."

My second attack should do a lot more since I can cast spells and fight since Im close.... I hope....
"OH SEBASTIAN, HOW HAVE I MISSED YOU!!!!" Clarice exclaimed as she was handed her black scimitar. She smooshes it into her face, caressing it with her wrinkly hands. "I will never let you out of my sight ever again!!!---- W-Whats that? A-another what?" She listens closely to the blade "Cheating on you? What on earth?" Clarice almost have forgotten about the blue scimitar she had obtained from the worm. "OH THIS! Ha-ha no... no i-its nothing! I would never trade you for anything darling, dont be silly! Ahaha..." She quickly passes the blue blade to Melfoil, and whispers "Could you be a darling and keep this for now? I have no further use for it unless we are to sell it later on... er.... and please don't throw it..." Clarice continued to caress the black blade, ignoring the rest of her party once again and the weird little creatures that were talking to them. Until she was once again pushed around by her comrades. "W-WOT THE BLAZES. Can't you see I'm enjoying a sweet reunion with my Sebby-webby?!" She stares at Melfoil, the blade still pressed against her cheeks. "Ugh, fiinneee" She sheathes her blade and after a short groan, she proceeds to go through the portal after Maldrek and Leon.
"Clarice" growled at Melfoil, guttural noises coming from her mouth. She looked at him, her eyes wild with rage "GRAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHKKKK "HAAR ALKHUUL DHUUL GHEC HHAACH, DHEL'DEC OCH. A DECH MECH O" She hissed.
Goblin:
"Get away from my meal, you filthy elf! I'LL KILL YOU" This was clearly not the Clarice everyone knows. She bore her teeth towards Melfoil, her breathing heavy. Her hand slowly charges up with fire, ready to attack Melfoil... Until finally, Clarice snaps out of it. Her face turned into an expression of horror. She quickly rescinded any magic she attempted to summon, and looked up at her party. "I-I dont know what got into me... I... I'm sorry that you had to see me like that. I-- thats never happened before... Forgive me, Melfoil." She turned around walked away, behind the party with a noticeable distance. "If you all would excuse me, I shall stay away from everyone for now. Once you're done with that thing we can continue on... I'll follow from a safe distance" I used a goblin translator LOL. Im not sure if its from this world, but I just thought itd be cool to have some weird words in there
"Clarice" watched as the worm was sliced in pieces, time appeared to slow down as blood splattered across her face. She breathed in as the... aroma ... overpowered her. Her stomach growled, her mouth watered at the sight of flesh just at her reach. This feeling... This... craving ... It was not unfamiliar to her... But she doesn't know why. Rather... She can't recall why. And at that moment the words of her companions were but muffled noises as she continued to look at it, marvelling at the delicacy in front of her. "Clarice" clutched her new blade, knelt down, and made her move to carve it. 1d20 ⇒ 10
Clarice swiftly casts another spell and the blue blade starts to emit an electrical force. With effort Clarice holds on tightly to the blade and attempts to swing it at the worm. Melee attack with Shock Enhancement: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 6 - 2 = 5 If it hits: 1d6 + 6 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 6 + (5) = 14 Arcane pool: 5
"We... We're all going to die..." Clarice's face visibly becomes paler as she witnesses her companions flail around like fools. We can't do anything without a weapon.... damnit, Clarice think. THINK! She eyes the blue scimitar the worm is holding and groans painfully... Well.. here goes nothing... With a loud screech, Clarice attempts to disarm the worm, hoping to grab its sword. "REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" Unarmed Disarm: 1d20 + 8 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 8 - 4 = 21 If its successful, I automatically get the scimitar, I won't need to pick it up... F-from what I've read. Also he gains an attack of opportunity so if he hits I'm gonna use 'Roll with it' and roll acrobatics to try and negate the damage. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24
As the horrifying monster revealed itself to the party, Clarice leapt onto the fray without a second thought. Its smell nor its facade did not deter her from attacking quickly. She had just left the cell and she will NOT go back there without a fight! With a charge of electricity coming from her hands, she aims to grab its hand, hoping to disarm it. Touch Attack roll: 1d20 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 3 = 17
Lemme know if I did this wrong lol
Clarice, shocked by Melfoil's kiss on her forhead, wasn't sure if she should be offended or flattered. "A LADY MUST NOT BE SO BRASHLY KISSED BY A MAN, EVEN IF ITS ON THE FOREHEAD....... but it felt good. BUT THE NERVE OF HIM... Maybe just this once... I'M A LADY AND I MUST NOT TOLERATE SUCH THINGS She kept thinking about it for the next few minutes, completely missing everything that everyone else is saying. Only until Leon started walking out that she finally snapped out of it. She followed suit through the door. "OH! Before I forget, I must say thank you and goodbye to miss.. er.." She exclaimed. She stopped again to think, "Oh my... What was her name again... Shcmelly? Sherman? Shelga? Schmelmie?-- OH! THATS RIGHT" She smiled to the undead, curtsied and said "Thank you kindly for your help! As she walks backwards through the door she continued to wave and finally said her goodbye " Au Revoir, Madame Smegma!" ******** Clarice reads the message board "I suppose we should turn right then. I'm quite curious where the left goes but our weapons should be the outmost importance She starts moving towards the right corridor.
Clarice jumped back, startled by Leon's cry. She looks over at the undead, who is now talking to them. She excitedly glanced over at Melfoil then back at the undead, then back at Melfoil, then back at the undead again. "IIII KNEW IT! I KNEEEEWWW ITTTTTT!!!!" She continued to stare at it, trying to figure out how its talking without a jaw.
Clarice takes a few paces away from Melfoil as he gleefully played with the intestines. As he read the inscription and translated it, Clarice paid close attention to what he said.... "OOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" Clarice exclaimed. "How positively cryptic!.... And well-- quite... morbid." She laughed nervously... She had always liked puzzles, although not the terrifying kind. Clarice grabbed the organs one by one and placed them in the podiums in order that was mentioned. First she placed the lungs on the first podium. Second she placed the liver on the next podium. Then the eyes on the third. "Oh wait wait. My mistake!" she quickly grabbed it back, careful to not squish it with her claws, and placed the stomach on its rightful place. Followed by the tongue on the fourth, then the eyes on the fifth. Finally she grabbed all of the left over organs, yanking the intestines away from Melfoil's grasp, and placed it all on the 6th podium, putting the corpse's jaw at the top, like a cherry on top of a bowl of ice cream. Clarice didn't seem to mind her dress being covered in blood.
Clarice looks both at Melfoil and Leon, as she squints her eyes she started 'shipping' them in her mind. A LADY MUST NOT THINK OF SUCH THINGS. she thought and shook it off. *********** "I wonder what all these podiums are for.... Hey Melfoil, would you be able to translate these elvish scripts for us? Clarice walked along the podiums, fascinated by them, not noticing the grotesque woman behind it.... until it was too late. Clarice steps on something squishy and wet, and with an "EEK!" she jumps back and sees the hanging woman. She covered her mouth just before she could scream loudly, cautious that they might get caught. Out of panic she tried to talk to it. "H-he-HELLO. Uh um uhh. As Clarice curtsied she notices a piece of jaw on the floor. Still in a state of shock, she mindlessly picked it up and somewhat tries to hand it to the woman.... As if thats going to do something... "Y-y-y-you seemed to have d-d-d-d-d-dropped s-s-som-so-something" G@# d+!nit Clarice
Sorry guys its been a few days since I've posted, so this will be a long one. Trying to respond to most of the happenings so this will be in different time/post sections. Clarice's face twitched as Maldrek started speaking in her native language. The language that she had not heard or used for a very long time. She responds, her face twisted in disgust. Goblin:
"No" Clarice almost gagged as she spoke in her native tongue. "Eurkhgg. Sorry love, its been a while since I've spoken in that.... language... If you can even call it that." She straightens up and smooths her hair back. "It has been a while since I've even heard it to be quite honest with you. Well, from what I can remember anyway. I do try to avoid it. I mean, the language is quite... guttural, innit? It's completely unlady like! She says as she tries to sound posh and royal but ending up sounding like a mixture of an old drunken tavern maid cross with a dying dog. "And as you can see... She dusts off her dress and twirls... clumsily.... her waxy hair swooping in the wind, whacking Maldrek along the way. "I'm a properly lady!" She ends her gesture with a poor man's curtsy. "Its comforting to see you try though." She smiled. After a short pause she pats Maldrek on the stomach as a form of thanks and looks over to Leon who's evidently trying to pick a fight with the wall. She sighs "I suppose its up to me to try and break us out. Now, I'll get back to whatever I was doing before I was so rudely interrupted" Clarice walks back to the bone bars and resumes to gnaw it. ***************************** A few hours has past and Clarice has barely made a dent on the cell bars, her face welling up with tears as she continued on gnawing. As she finally decided to stop and clean her teeth, she suddenly feels a sharp pain across her buttocks and she shrieks. This continued on and on every night, and her voice slowly broke from the constant cries of agony. To ease the pain she rarely sat or lied down. She even tried doing handstands the front part of her body leaning towards the wall when she slept, her dress flowed down covering her face and revealing her knickers. It was surprisingly comfortable. Until finally the pain stopped. At this point her face hollow and expressionless, the face of someone who has lost all hope. She wasn't even phased when the large and frightening Chain Warden finally arrived and introduced himself. Lying down on her chest, motionless, she continued to stare at the large creature. Until she sees the gremlin-monkey. Her eyes lit up as she recognises it and she jumps up "COUSIN RETT??!?!" She walks up to the small gremlin before she stops "Wait-- no m-my mistake he-he She stuttered You're not him, you just look like him. Apologies. Ugly bugger he was." She freezes N-NOT THAT YOU ARE! YOU'RE PROBABLY QUITE HANDSOME FOR A GREMLIN..... I THINK? She freezes for a second finally coming to her senses as she looked up at the warden. She shuffled back quickly and grabbed on to Leon's arm. She hissed. ****************************** Days past by and Clarice masters the art of using her head as a support instead of doing handstand... Her feet up leaning towards the wall, her knickers still in the air, her hands in a prayer position as she hums to herself in a mantra, trying to keep the pain away. She didn't mind the food either. Though the food might either be infested or rotten, it not something she wasn't used to. It was quite nostalgic of her childhood days before she became a "lady". She also noticed that the gremlin seemed to focus on Melfoil every time it visited.
"EYAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!" Clarice leaped forward as she hears the eerie giggle. She tumbles and trips over something as she tries to run away, "BLERGH!" and her face violently kisses the floor. She looks up, a small tinge of blood drooping from her temporarily flattened nose.... It seemed that she tripped over a body that she hadn't noticed before... A Tiefling? Has he always been here? He suddenly started muttering random words and Clarice jumped off clumsily, wary of him. She takes a good look at him, her bulging eyes studied his face, as her badly braided hair undoes itself, blood still drooping from her nose. She quickly wipes off the blood with the cuff of her sleeves, and grins widely as she tries to comb her hair, a somewhat ugly shade of rose plastered across her pale green cheeks. Somehow seeing him made her forget all about the weird creepy giggle... I wonder why... "GREETINGS CLARICE!" She shrieked "I MEAN, I'm Clarice, that's my name-- not yours obviously! haha..ha. I-I mean you could be, I wouldn't know!" her words and brain failed her, she blushes, smiled even wider, her sharp teeth looking as frightening as ever.
Clarice looked at Leon, offended at his remarks, "Wot!-- 'Bastard who... concocted me?' What in the blazes are you talking about, you big bumbling oaf! I'm ABSOLUTELY real and I am ABSOLUTELY frightened of this place!" She stood up, her hands on her hips as if shes lecturing a small child, her words fast paced and volatile. " 'Stop screeching'?!' Excuse me for being the only sane one here to actually react to this place normally. HAVE YOU SEEN THIS PLACE!? I mean the walls are pulsing for gods sake! PULSING!!! And here you all are just casually and calmly looking around as if this is a normal thing in your life!!!" She abruptly stops her long winded speech, deep in thought. "Wait a minute... Is it? Are you all part of this whole thing..." Her eyes widened once more suddenly wary of the people surrounding her. "S-stay away from me! You keep to your corner there!, and I'll stay on mine!" She slowly backed into a corner of the room, her eyes did not leave anyone out of her sight. With a huff, she sat down, and started braiding her hair. Gonna try and avoid trying to get out of here until we get the new players. Im cool to post RP though"
Clarice slowy feels a force at the back of her head. "What the deuce----HERHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN" Her watermellon-like head is too big to go through the bars, the side of her cheeks pressed against the bone bars as her face stretched out of the bone prison. Her eyes and her mouth stretched wide, making her unable to see or speak properly. With a fair bit amount of struggle she pushes herself back enough to talk "FFWAT A-ARE YOU DOING... S-STOP EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET" She flails her hands backwards trying to grab hold of Leon, her claws making a snapping like motion.
Clarice watched in a somewhat confused state as both Melfoil and Gadran played around in their jail cell. For the walls, what she sees is flesh, for the bars she sees is bones. But for some reason with all the commotion of being woken up with a swift kick to the stomach, and being surrounded by such strange people that her brain didn't really process the surrounding area properly. And finally, it wasnt until now that Clarice finally was fully aware of the horrible area she is in. Her face twisted as she realizes her predicament "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. She screamed in panic. Her eyes bulged and her hands to her face in panic, as she looked around at the pulsing fleshy walls. She jumped as Leon called for her, she turned to him "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" COUGH HURK COUGH BLERGH COUGH COUGH GAAAAASP "AAAAAAAAaaaaaaa...." her voice trailed off as she looked at him, the bags under her eyes somewhat swelled from stress. She nodded and proceeds to go over to the bars, and with a twisted disgusted face, she starts gnawing on the bone prison.
With a swift kick to her gut, Clarice woke up with a loud "BLERGH" . Eyes bulged open "WHAT THE FU---" she exclaimed before quickly reminding herself of her own manners. She collected herself, stood straight, dusted off any debris and dirt from her fine, intricately made dress, and combed her white stringy hair with her refined and painted claws. With a huff, she looked around and flinches as the large human runs past her, screaming, and somewhat attempts to dismantle the disgusting bone prison. "WHAT IN THE BLOODY HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!" She exclaimed angrily towards the mad brute. She glances towards the other two, "Oh! Where are my manners?" She giggled, her hands covering her mouth as if trying to look modest. She smiled wryly towards the ifrit and the elf, her face almost as hideous as the prison's facade. She clumsily curtsied as she introduces herself. "My name is Clarice, I'm humbled to be with your company. Her voice is crude, and her tone, a failed attempt to sound sophisticated and posh.

Alright, so one of my players is pregnant and we were wanting to do a little In-Group baby shower for her and her husband. We've got a banner and will print it up with something like "Congrats on the little Monster!" with a few critters scanned on it (goblin, xvart, etc). We'll be having some munchies and of course the game (which will hopefully move from my intermission to the start of Sea Wyverns Wake). I don't have time to order anything for the shower itself, but if anyone has any great ideas for food or anything else to do, let me know!
We’ve recently started up a Savage Tide campaign here, too. We have five players and are aligned a bit away from the arcane power. We’ll see how things progress as we get farther along the path. Right now, though, I’m really excited with how my players have been doing. We have a couple of rank novices, one guy who’s got a good amount of RPG experience, but not done much recently, and a couple who have a good amount of experience. And the all seem to be meshing well! Elarina - a Wild Elf ranger from the Tiger River area. Her father is a hunter and guide of great renown and has helped members of the Seekers many times. As the story opens, she is leaving Hokar with her friend Anabelle after they attended a series of lectures given my the Seeker mage Uvlagard ResTalt about the southern wild elves, their split from their northern cousins, and their interactions with the Olman civilization. Having turned down ResTalt’s offer of marriage, she decides to head back south with Anabelle. Anabelle - A Changeling beguiler created near Onwall. A intellectual descendant of a Suel Su-Doppelganger program, the creature known as Anabelle (among other names), was rescued from her incubation vat by others of her kind. They spirited her far away from Onwall and she learned stealth and magic from them. She currently lives in the Sunrise District of Sasserine and leads ‘excursions’ down into the jungles to enjoy the exotic offerings of the Amedio. It was working in this capacity that she met Elarina and the two got on well. She accompanied Elarina on the trip up to Hokar with the Seeker mage and now she accompanies her back south. Dorias - a Dwarven Cleric of Moradin, Dorias is a bastion of righteousness and propriety... up to a point. Dorias is strong in his aims to help expand the Shrine of Moradin, almost as strong as he is in his passion of beer. He loves beer in a depth of manner that can only be properly performed by a dwarf. Dorias is a budding brewer and is looking into the realms of alchemy to help him fortify his keg of beer into holy ‘water’, thus making every sip a true benediction and act of praise. Dorias also has eyes to being a mover and shaker on the Dawn Council Finnias - a human rogue, Finnias chooses not to talk about his past. Ever. He’s a Shadowshore lad. And he just has the resources the party needs. That’s all, nothing to see here... Although Finnias only has a few ranks in Profession (Sailor) his knack for throwing nat 20s on the checks have kept them safely afloat a couple of times. Kainna - the sweet and strong, but dim as an unlit candle, Kainna the half-elf fighter is already making a name for herself in Zelkarune’s Horns. The Arena rat has already been pulled out of her duties cleaning cages and shoveling sawdust to have private conversations in Mr. Grankus’s office. Despite being slow on the draw mentally, she is a good person to have oat your back. INTRODUCTION: A Prelude to the Tide...Hollow Threat! The characters started off just south of the large city of Hokar in the Hold of the Sea Princes. They had all signed on to help guard a caravan headed to the small port town of Hethrol’s Landing and then on to Sasserine. Dorias was sheparding a load of minerals important for his church, Kainna was ushering a doped-up owlbear back to the arena, etc. The made it to the small mining and shipping community easily and set in for a long afternoon drinking at the Clipper’s Eel. They sat and sipped (well, hefted, in Dorias’s case) and talked (or not, in Finnias’s case) about themselves and Sassarine until the night had fallen. Just before they headed off to bed, however, a hew and cry rose up in the street and a beaten-up halfling was ushered into the establishment with a tale about a dragon turtle that wanted to raise the town. He told of the bo-whee-moth monster smashing their ship to flinders and eating almost the whole crew. He and three others were caught and put in an old tin mine on the coast while the beast slept off his glutting. He managed to slip out a small air vent and run to the town in order to warn them to take to the mines inland and barricade themselves inside for the next couple of days. Almost everyone believed him. Except Anabelle and the towns mayor. Anabelle scored a blazing Sense Motive win vs. the halfling’s substantial Bluff. She couldn’t tell where his story broke down, but you shouldn’t play a player and his facial tells and body language said he was trying to pull a fast one. He grew increasingly despondent as the characters talked the mayor into putting the town on alert and being ready to move assets, but not until they had a chance to check things out (for a nominal fee). The mayor has one of the guards lock the suspect halfling in a room upstairs (to make sure his wounds are well tended, of course). The hike to the cove where the dragon turtle is resting is uneventful and the group makes it there in short order. Upon seeing the form of a turtle shell sprawling on the beach (a real snapping turtle shell that I own, placed on the board, dwarfing the players), they think there may be some credence to the halfling’s tale. Upon seeing a cave seemingly blocked with a rock further on, they think that there must still be some captives hidden inside. They skirt the beach and get over to the cave, making plans to push the boulder aside, but they hear strange noises coming from the dragon turtle. Suddenly, there is a wooden sounding thump and a cachinnating yelping as two nasty looking hyenas charge up the beach. Elarina pegs one with her bow and Anabelle manages to get a sleep spell off before the second beast can chomp down on Kainna. Dorias casts bless on the group and Finnias holds back till things are at closer range. As this furious action is unfurling, four orcs shove their way... Out of the dragon turtle??? Kainna dispatches the sleeping hyena and Finneas kills the other as it closes with Elarina. The orcs charge up the sand, two with hand axes heading for Dorias, one with a nasty looking falchion heading toward Kainna, and the last, a barbarian with a huge stone greataxe getting pegged with an arrow by Elarina. Biting the insides of his mouth to ragged tatters, the barbarian enters a howling, bloody-spit frothing rage and charges the gulping wild elf. As the orcs charge Elarina tries to whip off a shot at the charging barbarian, but her string breaks! My wife is now firmly convinced I want to kill her character off in the first game. I point out that she is in charge of rolling her own dice. She remains unconvinced. Anabelle steps up and hits one of the regular orcs and the barbarian with a color spray. The regular orc closer to her crumples, the barbarian shrugs it off as he charges past. Dorias and Finneas work well to get a good flank in on the other common orc and drop him. The orc with the falchion moves to meet Kainna and hits her with a nasty blow dropping her to nearly 0hp. Kianna returns the favor hitting the orc leader with a dancing rapier blade that slips through his armor and his heart (crit). The leader looks dumbfounded for a second as his falchion falls from his slackening hands. “But it wasn’t suppose to work this way...” he says dully and drops back onto the sand. That leaves the barbarian who is charging Elarina. He leaps the last distance and brings the axe down in a cataclysmic arc hitting the wild elf archer for almost her full hp amount (full to 1hp in a blink). My wife is even more convinced I’m out to get her and starts contemplating how we’re going to divvy up the house, cars, and kids (this, of course, is almost entirely unabashed BS). Having no other alternative, she uses one of her arrows as an improvised weapon and shoves it deep into his shoulder. Kainna is close enough to close the distance and make an attack, but misses. Anabelle goes for her crossbow and Dorias and Finneas start heading to assist. But before that the barbarian gets a swing and... misses Elarina by a hair’s breadth. As the others rush up the beach toward the two battered girls, Elarina grabs another arrow for an improvised weapon, but misses. Kainna arcs in with her rapier, scoring a small hit then with her kukri for max damage dropping the raging beast. Dorias promptly bashes the brains out of the orc that was dropped by the color spray, much to the irritation of the rest of the party who figured it would be good to question him about what their exact game was. Taking a breather, the group recovers and binds up their wounds then go to roll the rock away from the cave and examine the mine. Elarina is able to discern halfling and orc footprints that step into the cave about two steps and head back out. There are no signs of anyone being taken into the cave itself. They head back down to the ‘dragon turtle’. Although they know something is off with the whole situation, they are still amazed to find that under a real dragon turtle’s shell there is a tub-like boat with oars fashioned to look like the turtle’s legs. It’s big enough to drive a wagon through and three of the five immediately want to start sailing it back (after looting a modest treasure inside). Elarina doesn’t feel up to water travel, and Anabelle heads back to town with her. They quickly find the mayor who sends for a Pelorian priest to heal the girl. They tell the mayor the whole story and let him know the rest of the group are wanting to sail their new plunder into the harbor for a grand entrance. Talk turns to the halfling... he tried to stab one of the guards and is currently relaxing in solitary confinement tied to a bed upstairs. The girls go up to talk to him and he remains stubborn. Meanwhile, back at the beach... Finneas, the only character with ranks in Profession (Sailor), mobilizes Dorias and Kainna to row the turtleshell boat back to Hethrol’s Landing. The first sailing check was a dismal failure... it took them about a hour to get the boat back in the water and in the tide. Once they were out in the water, though, he took another check and nailed it. Before long, the turtle was cruising toward the docks at Hethrol’s Landing while the anticipatory crowd cheered them on. The halfling was hung at dawn. The group was lauded through the day and treated like local nobility. The dragon boat was hauled up and the hull was taken out. The shell was dragged to the main entry to function as a gateway for the town from Hokar. The heros were encouraged to sign the passage to commemorate the marker being set up. Eventually, the boat to Sassarine came into port and the local heros were forced back into their roles as caravan guards loading their various wares for the voyage.
THANK YOU RICHARD PETT for HOLLOW THREAT! I had to make it more serious, but it is a great little gem and I’ve wanted to use it since it was published.
Most of the surveys I get off of Myspace are crap (no offense to any of my friends who send anything to me), but once in a while a real gem shines through. In this game, you choose a band or artist and use their song titles ONLY to answer the questions about you. Here is mine for example. 1. What band/artist will you let talk for you?
2. Are you male or female:
3. Describe Yourself:
4. How do some people feel about you:
5. How do you feel about yourself:
6. How do you feel about ex boyfriends/girlfriends:
7. Describe current boyfriend/girlfriend/crush:
8. Describe where you want to be:
9. Describe how you live:
10. Describe how you love:
11. What would you ask for if you had just one wish:
12. Share a few words of Wisdom:
13. Now say goodbye:
Who's next? (well you don't have to use the Who unless you want to)
Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've been on the boards because real life is a silly, poopy kind of beast. My contract wasn't renewed with the Army (one of several, so nothing personal), so I've been in a flurry of sending of resumes and trying to pimp myself out to the museum and curation world. It's not the best of all job markets out there, anyway, so it's just been frustrating. I'm looking for temporary situations around here right now and I have some local (non-archaeological/non-curation) jobs to tide me over until I find something in my career path. The silver lining is that my contract was set up so that January is a severence month, so am able to fully devote myself to the search. Pimpin' ain't easy! On much more enjoyable news, I've decided that I'll be going to Origins in July. Anyone else planning on going? The end date for the early-bird price is January 10, so there are a couple more days for early registration. My in-laws live about 12 miles from the convention center, so it's a great staging area for me...oh yeah, and to see them. Anyway, I've missed the community and the comradery of the Paizo boards and wanted to give a mini-shout out.
Hey y'all! The recent Core Beliefs got me thinking and I had a question about the earlier Vecna modules... Is the wonderfully named 'Die Vecna Die!' a compilation that includes the two earlier modules 'Vecna Lives' and 'Vecna Reborn'? Since 'VL' is set in Greyhawk and 'VR' is set in Ravenloft, I didn't know if 'DVD' is a synthesis and addition to them since it is set in Greyhawk, then Ravenloft, then Sigil, or if it was it's own thing entierly. Thanks for any illumination you might shed!
I just thought I would post this up as a new topic...an outgrowth from the left turn in the "How much sleep do you get?" thread. This can be a catch-all for any parent-kid related topic you want to talk about. 'Owning' children (sheah, right! Being owned by children...)is not a prerequisite. I've got two little imps (actally, more like quasits...they lean toward the Chaotic side), Lexi is 3 1/2years old; and Corbin is 1 month and 1 week. To take off from the veer in the other thread. In heavy rotation at home... The School House Rock collection DVD
In my truck CD-player, our heavy rotation is:
Hey everyone, just sharing some happy news... My son, Corbin was born Thursday 4:33PM. He was a healthy 8 pounds 11 ounces, and 19 inches long. My wife did a great job and we're all home and resting now. The doctor was impressed, he says that he doesn't get many women who deliver without an epidural nowadays. My daughter Lexi (3 1/2 yrs old) and I are already starting with the brainwa-, I mean, uh...indoctrination. She likes teaching him and showing him her toys "This is Spiderman and this is a dragon...he's blue". She also put my plush Cthulhu in with him and said "This is Put-ulu!" Grand times in store! ...if we can ever get any sleep.
Arrrrgh! Two wee jests in honor o' the occasion... A pirate walks into a bar with a large ship's wheel sticking out the front of his pants. The barman looks at him in surprise and says "Um...excuse me, what's the steering wheel for?" The pirate looks at the barkeep and says "Yarr, it drives me nuts." __________ Q: What has 8 arms and 8 legs?
Yarr!
Yesterday, my wife, 3 year old daughter and myself were walking around on a local playground. Running from the bottom of the slide to the ladder back up for anoter go-around, my daughter bent down and picked something up off of the ground. Heading over to make sure it wasn't something unsavory, she stopped me short by holding up a roughly cut red bead fallen off of some kid's 'jewelry'. "Look," she said holding it up for me to see "Someone dropped a dice!" The look on my wife's face was priceless. "Yes," I said nodding at the treasure "can you say polyhedrial?" "Poleedral" my dauger said. "Very good" I said. "I need a drink" my wife said. What a truly lovely moment.
I’m sad to report that classic D&D artist/illustrator David Southerland has passed away at the age of 56 due to chronic liver failure. Southerland created some of the most indelible images that old school gamers associate with the hobby…The cover of the original Monster Manual, the original DM Guide, the covers of several first printings of modules, and served as cartographer on many, many more (like the Forgotton Realms, Dark Sun, Ravenloft, and Maztica boxed sets, ToEE, and the original Manual of the Planes). The article on his death can be accessed here: http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/11892572.htm and a list of his work is available from the good folks at Pen & Paper.net http://www.pen-paper.net/rpgdb.php?op=showcreator&creatorid=507 Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, I didn’t see any threads relating to it.
The trailers for the H2G2 movie are starting to trickle in and I couldn't be more excited! It looks absolutely beautiful and like it should be pretty pitch perfect. Alan Rickman sounds like he was meant to be the voice of Marvin, the Paranoid Android. The Vogons look properly repulsive. It looks like they've solved the whole Zaphod's second head thing in an interesting manner. I can't wait for opening night (April 29th)!! A very nicely cut trailer can be viewed here... http://www.skymovies.com/skymovies/trailers/0,,80009-0-0-0-0-3,00.html and a similar one here... http://home.gotland.com/roligt/internettrailer.rm Share and Enjoy! |
