Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

If you're in a hurry -- run. 4X movement "In a straight line", but maybe GM_wu will let you bend the rule a little.

did I open the door?

Chardak staggers and croaks as loudly as he is able, "Anna! Storm! Grinby! To us!"

Sorry, Pip. Chardak doesn't think you're melee material -- yet.

Crit confirm 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 1 = 19 ... damage 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 6) + 3 = 10

Status:

HP -1/19 living on orc ferocity
Current AC 16, T 11, FF 16 including 2 dex damage

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak grunts with the pain and wheels toward his attacker, swinging his sword in a flat arc.

1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 1 = 23 ... damage 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2) + 3 = 6

That will bring him to -1, but orc ferocity should keep him on his feet until his next action?

Chardak I am confused on exactly where you want to move.

I would like to move from the ladder back to Nesteruk, and if possible, through the door he opened, and clean the clocks of these bandits who are so foolish as to stand against us in melee.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Hearing splintering wood and cursing, Chardak tuns away from the ladder and hurries to Nesteruk's side. Judging from the quality of the new foes' equipment, Chardak prays for Gorum's aid.

Swift action -- judgement +1 to hit for this combat. If I have actions enough to attack after moving, then ... Greatsword 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 23 ... damage 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 4) + 3 = 12

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Looks like Nesteruk, Chardak and Grinby yet to act this round.

Chardak climbs the ladder and sprints across the roof toward the archer while he raises his sword for a crushing blow.

Greatsword 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 ... damage 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 6) + 3 = 11

Of course he may not have enough movement to actually make it, depending on his movement rate up the ladder.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

After the arrow strikes, Chardak looks up and gnashes his teeth at the archer. Then he circles the barn looking for a way up. Finding the ladder, he starts to climb.

Movement will probably eat all his actions this turn. Not sure how far up the ladder he gets.

Chardak strikes the door in growling frustration.

Just flavor.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak breaks out of the cover of the fog and charges around the left side of the barn. As he goes he drops his spear and shakes his greatsword clear of its wrapping.

He pulls open the door and looks inside.

Move to E5 and open the door.

AWOL again. The usual sources. (On the plus side how many people get to hang out inside the combustion chamber of a big gas turbine engine.) I am sorry .

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

the bless spell was a good call. One of my favorite 1st level divine spells.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Under the cover of the fog, Chardak bends his shortbow and tightens the string. "Are we going to shoot them from here or get close and kill them?"

Nice spell. Do we want to close under covering fire and storm the barn, exchange ranged fire, or split the party to try both?

Dex down 2.

Fort save, the third: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak grimaces with pain from the bite and poison as he tries to shake the dead centipede off his spear. The huge insect is stuck fast. He drops the spear, staggers ahead then wheels, sweeping the sword from his back and down toward the remaining centipede in one motion.

5' step to E4. Greatsword 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 ... damage 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 2) + 3 = 6

Looting our comrades. When we get to it.

Lyle's gear is all small. Chardak won't want any part of it.

Did Jondar have the wand of CLWs? It wasn't in his equipment list.

Chardak would take any of the Light steel shield, healer's kit, silk rope, rations, waterskin and the holy symbol of Pharasma, if no one minds.

The crossbow and quarrels could also be useful.

** spoiler omitted **

** spoiler omitted **

Thinking back, Jondar got the MW breastplate, but it looks like Caraldur never updated the character sheet to include it. So that would be among loot we took from his dead body.

Chardak would definitely be interested, but he's got the lion's share of loot so far. In the interest of fairness, AZ, Alex, would Anna or Nesteruk want that armor?

And just to make sure, Anna's got the wand of CLW ?

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

The downside of charging. That second attack got through.

Fort save the first: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Fort save the second: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Noting the attitudes of his companions, Chardak rushes forward to impale the nearest centipede on his spear.

Charge v. D4 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 3 + 2 = 20 ... damage 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

AC down to 15 until C's next action.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak drops his spear from his shoulder into a ready position and waits for the party's consensus on action.

Mechanically, Chardak delays. Do you guys want a fight?

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak and Grinby up front makes sense. Ronigan too since he's leading.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak takes Ronigan's comment as clearing the newcomers from suspicion. He shoulders his spear and prepares to move forward.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak grins and nudges Nesteruk in the ribs. "That one is a queen herself."

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak shrugs. He watches the mounted human. Another spear rider without troops, like Stark. I thought they were all in warbands. They never came against Skurk's band singly.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

"Anna. Her name is Anna." Chardak interjects. "I am Chardak. The quiet one is Ronigan who was attacked by the bandits."

He looks up at the mounted man, "Who are you?"

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

At the sight of so many weapons on the two newcomers, Chardak's smile (or snarl) widens. "So you fight for the favor of the Lord in Iron too? You are brave to approach four strangers in the border lands."

His posture doesn't change, nor does he take a step forward. His eyes slide questioningly toward Ronigan. When the man doesn't reply immediately, they slip on toward the second halforc, and then the half-elven woman.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

"Bandits. Travellers. Hunters. We all look the same."

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

mid-stream entrances are often awkward. Welcome aboard, both of you.

Chardak looks up from the two bodies on the ground and stands quickly. He lets his spear dangle from his left hand while he glances at the newcomers, then over at Ronigan, and back to the new comers.

The halforc is big, topping six feet and 200 pounds and dressed in heavy scale mail. Weapons festoon his body. There's a two handed sword and shortbow slung over his right shoulder. A light mace and dagger hang at his belt. A short sword is tied to his pack. His slightly underslung jaw slides forward and down in revealing smiling (or snarling) broad yellow teeth.

"Stop there." He keeps his eyes on the gnome and ranger while he addresses the man beside him. "Ronigan, are these your bandits?"

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak examines the bodies and the well.

detect poison

"The well water is not good."

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Levelled up. Don't worry about us being under equipped.

"All we need is our strong sword arm and Gorum's favor will follow."

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

2nd level hit points: 1d8 ⇒ 5

We've been going camping.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Sounds good.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

"Ahh. The stinging nettles I know have blue flowers with red thorns. That is why I did not recognize them."

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

"WHat is it Nesteruk?" Chardak seems genuinely curious.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Know (nature) 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Does the ditch surround the plant? How deep is it? Is the ditch an obstacle to forward progress.

"Plant? Who cares? Wasn't it here before? We're here to battle the thieves that attacked you. Let's find 'em and avenge you. We can look at plants later."

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Works for me. Staying at first level does too. Your call.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak places his foot on the dog's neck and levers the butt end of his spear upward. Then he wrenches it out of the canine's ribcage. "Stupid dogs." He kicks the carcass, then looks at the rest of the group.

Hooray for spear bracing! I've done it only a handful of times over the years. Gratifying to score a crit on that roll.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Rather than reboot in the middle of this bandit mission, two of us could just take over Lyle and Jondar until we get back to town, or they die. When we finish the mission or they die, we could recruit.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak judges the distance. If he throws his spear, he'll never get his sword clear before the dog is on him. He crouches low, grounds the butt of his spear and waits for the dog to spit itself.

"Nice doggy."

Ready action to brace spear against oncoming dogs.

Braced Spear: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 ... damage 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 6) + 3 = 12

OOOO, critical?

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 ... damage 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 = 8

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak pumps his head up and down. "Onwards."

The half orc looks at Ronigan.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak nods and shows a little more yellowed tooth than usual.

"Blood suckers would be a stupid death. They are dangerous, but there is no glory in the contest."

Nice touch with the "we". Unfortunately Chardak isn't sharp enough on social cues to really notice.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Lyle's up, but I'm leaving for the weekend Friday, so I'll post now.

Chardak looks at the crowd helping Lyle and at Nesteruk's solitary struggle. He rushes to help his half-orc cousin. move to G6

He tries to grab the overgrown insect with his hands and rip it away from Nesteruk.

Grapple action. I want to try to pull the stirge off Nesteruk.

Grapple1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak growls and reaches for his dagger.

Just posting color. Waiting to see what happens to Lyle.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

My suggestion:

Ronigan, Chardak, Nesteruk, Anna, Lyle, Jondar

I'll accept other orders, No problem.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

All set in town.

Alex, good luck moving. Sometime you'll have to tell us all about the Ukraine.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak after cutting the pie into slices, Chardak eats it by levering the wedges away with his knife , then holding them in his hands. He doesn't worry about the filling dripping on the table or floor, but is careful to hold the slices away from his body lest they drip on his armor.

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Chardak smiles in commiseration with the cleric.

When Linda asks about breakfast, Chardak replies, "He needs raw eggs." Chardak jerks his thumb in Jondar's direction. "to help his head. I will have pie. "

The half-orc looks around. "Where is Ronigan?"

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

Eager to be on bandit's trail, Chardak wakes early and pays the tab and throws in a handful of silver. "Good food. We'll come again."

The party finds him sitting in front of the inn running a small stone over his arrow-tips to hone them.

Reupped his hitpoints to full, assuming Jondar threw some healing his way at te end of the previous day. OK?

Male Half-Orc Inquisitor of Gorum 2

"Good. We will find and beat these bandits. When we return the mayor will welcome you more than before. Tonight we feast."

Chardak drags the table where we were splitting the loot over to Ronigan's. Then he drags over two chairs. (He more or less just expects everyone to follow his lead.) Calling to the waitress, he orders whatever they have hot and a mug of buttermilk.
