1. Why is your character fleeing Galt? Are they from a neighboring nation? What attracts them to this expedition? Be specific!
Chakon Dryfoot is tired of the political turmoil in Galt and had taken several jobs swinging a sword to ostensibly remove more radical elements from the political scene. Unfortunately, he was less than stellar at choosing his jobs - he meant well in his intervention and involving himself in trying stop radical political boats from rocking, but now there are people who just can’t wait to get their hands on him.
2. In character, write your pitch to the noble as to why your character should be taken along. The rendezvous point is a secret, so you must convince the noble that your character is trustworthy. “I have heard you are getting together an expedition to leave Gaalt! I would like to join you! As a guaard or scout I can provide a sword and a good arm to use it. As far as why I’d like to join, well… chk-chk… I am in a spot of trouble. My sword arm has been good for odd jobs, but my brain wasn’t… chk-chk… selective enough? Would that be sufficient explanaation? In any case, it means there are people who want me plucked clean and I rather like my feathers where they are! I’m done being indiscrete, at least in - chk-chk - tumultuous cities such as Gaalt.”
3. Long term, what role does your character hope to play in the fledgling community? Start a business? Range outside the town to scout for threats? Serve in or lead the militia? Found a temple to their deity? Establish a thieves' guild? Dream as big as you like!
Chakon perhaps would like to become the leader of his own community at some point, or at least own his own business. That’s in the future however, and for the moment, he’s happy to earn his keep as a scout or guard.
Appearance and Personality:
Chakon is a particularly short Tengu with dark brown feathers. He accents his face with light blue dots of paint around his eyes and on his cheeks. He dresses flamboyantly with lots of colors, and does his best to keep neat and clean.
He’s a bit of an eccentric, and likes figures of speech. He likes when people get along peacefully, but is unafraid to use his sword as a way to deal with a situation if his words do not work. Chakon wants to be a leader and does his best to coordinate people. He’d also like to be a businessman, and looks to do that when sword swinging is no longer an option for him.
