Background:

Cathryn hails from a small hamlet in the countryside near the mountains where the city of Damara is located. She has devoted her entire life to combating Demons and those that associate with them. Her parents and brother were both slaughtered when she was merely 10 years old, after spending weeks being tortured she managed to escape.

Her captors followed her into the countryside and eventually mountains, tirelessly persevering after her, a game to them. Through dumb luck or divine favor, she was spared when a Paladin of Tyr showed up at the nick of time and was able to ward off the Demon (defeating it).

The Paladin recognizing the angelic blood that tempered Cathryn's veins and realizing she had no one offered to take her to his temple. Here Cathryn learned and studied for many years. It was during this time she decided, and became dedicated to stopping those of the Abyss from destroying this plane. Eventually she trained to become a Paladin, with a specific focus on combating the various evil outsiders.

Eventually she left and joined up with a group of of Tyrian investigators who specialized in investigating incursions into the Prime Material Plane (specifically in Faerun) and stopping said incursions. She has spent 12 years serving in this capacity. Over time she became adept as a leader of her patrol and has served as a Commander for several larger skirmishes.

Anyone who is knowledgeable about known figures would likely know her from various incursions in the Faerun region again Evil Outsiders. She has served on several expeditions as a commanding officer.

Appearance:
Cathryn stands at 6'2 and weighs at approximately 152 lbs. She has a sleek but muscular body, with metallic reddish brown hair that she keeps medium length, usually tied back, and jade green eyes.

Her Mithral Fullplate has been darkened by some unknown process. Though it still carries the unmistakable glint of Mithral. On it stands the Holy Symbol of Tyr.

Personality:

Completely and totally dedicated to her mission of destroying Demons, Devils, and preventing them from coming to the Prime. She wishes no one to suffer the pain and horror she suffered as a child and will go to almost any length to make that be so.

Unlike other Paladin's who might be unwilling to push the line to do what needs done, or who might specialize in healing others, Cathryn has little qualms with such things. That is not to say that she does not care for and dedicate herself to protecting others, and to being honorable and chivalrous. But to fight such creatures as Demon's, one must push themselves

Surprisingly enough she can be a pleasant person to be around. She has a sense of humor and though she is 100% devoted to her task, she knows that one must take a break occasionally (and not just for herself, but often for the others she has lead and worked with) to operate at maximum efficiency. One must be completed dedicated to a task, but they must also be able to be trusted and loved by their companions.

She has a fondness for Elven food.

Character concept wise I kind of see her as the Mace Windu of Paladins. Where Mace Windu embraced channeling emotion into a state mind, one which he used to fight with a very aggressive style, almost borderline Sith, Cathryn does much the same. She focuses her anger and rage into her mission and how she fights, favoring 2 handing over a more defensive approach. Her Oath's are representative of this and her life. An Oath against Fiends, those who violated her and her family, a complete dedication to seeing their removal. And an Oath of Vengeance, fury channeled to see Divine Vengeance upon those fiends.

DESCRIPTION
This +3 cold iron longsword becomes a +5 holy defiant cold iron longsword in the hands of a paladin or a lawful good mythic creature. If the creature wielding this weapon is a paladin with mythic tiers, she can also grant the weapon the brilliant energy special ability on command. Dismissing the brilliant energy ability is a free action.

When wielded by a paladin or a lawful good mythic creature, this weapon provides spell resistance equal to 5 + the character's paladin class level (if any) + the character's mythic tier (if any) to the wielder and anyone within 10 feet of her. It also enables the wielder to use mythic greater dispel magic once per round as a standard action, with a caster level equal to either the wielder's paladin class level or double her mythic tier, whichever is higher. Mythic greater dispel magic functions as greater dispel magic including the benefits of the mythic dispel magic spell, but when the wielder dispels a spell, she heals 1d6 points of damage for every spell level of the dispelled spell instead of healing 1d4 points of damage.
