Female Changeling Black Blooded Oracle of Bones

Their spells are Spell-Like and their Path abilites are Supernatural. I don't think "Spellcraft" will identify them, as they cannot counterspell or be counterspelled, I imagine that is because they cannot be identified. Whats more, if anyone actually read my character; Thats the Point. People don't like her, she likes them. Cycle of Sorrow, and the motivating factor for her trying to do good in the world. If they could identify her effects, They are either;
If I actually had a Death domain for spell-like abilities granted from the domains spells, they could be identified as Necromancy. But I intended to go with Fire and Repose. Canaan is not stupid, she's been exposed to discrimination most her life. She's not going to be doing outright creepier effects in front of civilians, if she must she'd do things that are not creepy. At first level she would be able to use Firebolt and Burning hands, and from Repose she'd be able to use Deathwatch and Gentle Rest, which is no more necromantic then Turn Undead. She'd then have one path ability, which I was thinking about Dark Fairy (tiny support creature), Wood Golem (medium defensive creature), or Bone Growth (Entangle, but with bones). ^- A complete summary of all the things my character could do. Besides a mere 2 natural armor, that is literally everything at this level.
Avoiding peoples ire was the main Roleplay attraction of my character that was clearly what I wanted with all that fluff in my character.

I'm still working on it. But that is good enough to show it off so far.
Female Changeling Black Blooded Oracle of Bones
Alright.
I already have a level one Kitsune Witch character and so far I hate it. Prepared casting sucks horrible manparts. And I have a hard time seeing anything useful in the class until high levels.

I meant spells she already knows. Not in the middle of the game sitting around making her own.
But what I meant was me, I, create custom spells that are for her character. My entire concept was controlling. And without controlling, necromancers are nothing but Elementalists using negative energy. Which I always hated. To me, Necromancy is not just throwing zombies around or giving people a bit of negative energy damage.
Woa. I just got hit with the desire to create a Necromancer, heavily based off Diablo. I haven't seen one made before...

*Acknowledges*
I'm DMing a Ravenloft d&d 3.5 game.
You never followed up on that post stating I shouldn't/couldn't use Undead Servitude or command/manipulate undead at all for that matter. Could I perhaps craft Curses once in a while in suitable scenarios instead then?
Perhaps I can replace the Undead Servitude and the revelation to make undead for a revelation that allows me to craft custom [Bone] spells? I consider myself a good homebrewer of spells. Its also simple to simply describe other spells differently, and/or make minor changes like electric damage to negative energy or something.
... *sigh*. Undead Servitude was rather my main feature.
Or an Ice Spear's spell, Large bony spears that looks like a spike with a skull at the end, the rest of the spear protruding through its mouth..
I see. In that case I think there is no problem. Canaan does not walk around with zombies in toe. She uses them on a case by case basis when they show up ie; Only if there is an Undead encounter after which the controlled undead are disposed of with the rest of them.
Spoiler:
I don't "Bring" undead into the party. I assume direct control and exert my dominance over the evil creeping things of the world.
All your Bones are belong to us. The Paladin's problem stems from the creation of undead which is a line Canaan could never cross. Canaan just commands and destroys existing undead. You must face it, this character is just as or more effective at combating the undead as a typical holy light warrior. Most damage faced from necromantics will be Negative and/or Cold, to one of which I am healed by, and the other I'll be resistant to soon enough and eventually immune. Meanwhile I can outright command the enemy to turn on themselves... I reject the notion that a Necromancer must be inherently evil.
Dayum thats a lot of text. And none of it was meant to sound defensive or offensive. I'm just accentuating my character. Her powers are twisted in nature, but Canaan's power has never known innocent blood and it never willingly will. In Canaan's part anyway. The power itself probably hungers and probably brings about bad luck for her trying to push her to satisfy it. But just like Canaan pays no heed to the call of the Hags, she barely even notices her power's pull (pull so subtle it doesn't even have any mechanic behind it XD) So yea. Once we all get to know eachother, things should be fine.
Edit: ooooh. your an Inquisitor. Like a Paladin, but even more vengeful and adamant about killing things that are "evil". By default anyway. I'll have to look into your character and see if she can't get around that as well
Undead Servitude doesn't say anything about commanding undead to kill themselves.
Oooooh. I just had an idea for at least neutral aligned Create Undeads.

Great! I'll just read some old d&d books and wait for the game to start then.

Exactly.. And I suppose he did alright with the Balrog compared to everywhere else except maybe the "Extra big" light spell, that was alright.

I like to point at the Fellowship of the Ring. They had plenty of duplicates.Nothings bad about having characters with things in common. Gives them something to talk about.
I never play anything that isn't good looking.
I never play Wizards, and I avoid Prepared casters whenever possible. I make an exception sometimes for Clerics, because at least they can do cure/inflict spontaneously. I hate Prepared casters. Wake up in the morning to an ambush? Your clucked. Wizards seem to have less spells per day as well, which means since they are prepared I usually have to throw them all into one spell at that level I think the most useful... So I use spontaneous, I simply know spells by heart and cast them at my leisure so long as spells per day remain.

o-0 There is? Hell.. What were the chances of that x_x I didn't know, I only have that players guide thing I could dl for free :(*flustered* I've liked the name Kendra ever since I read Fablehaven... Having two similarly named characters isn't a problem. But if there was already a Kendra, it hardly seems logical that the Professor would give the name to someone else unless; he didn't know, or the other Kendra died and it was a sentimental thing. Or if he was a clutz and liked naming everything the same. Hm... I don't have that program I use to use to Find and Replace names... I'll have to edit all that stuff I wrote by hand x_x And finding a new name. Hm... Well if the Professor apparently likes the name Kendra perhaps he'd like the name McKenna... Thats all I got for now, I'll keep thinking... Edit: Hoooly frazzlebags.
There. Temporary (Maybe) change until I think of something better and/or get around to editing all that text I made x_x
Ooo I hope so. The Cards looked very interesting. I only read what was in the guide, so I don't think I know the full situation behind it, but they look very fun and flavorful. I think its silly to worry about duplicate classes. Especially when each class also has like at least 5 Sub-classes within it. Like me and Radavel. Same class, but pretty darned different.
If by evil spells you mean Infernal Healing, Death's Touch, undead servitude, ect, and all my spellcasting described with demonic-necrotic descriptors, then yes. I do that. The only one that actually is listed as Evil though is infernal healing (with no alignment effect, specifically stated in the spell). Should I level nicely and not die, I intend for Kendra to be a sort of fight fire with fire kind of character. Everything will be described as infernal-necromantic, but throughout it all I'll remain good.
Oh. I can't picture Kendra actually violating corpses. So no Creating undead. That bit isn't something Kendra would do.
I'm finished, pretty sure. Finished my sheet and I'm pretty happy with it. Here is an overview of the character. A good-aligned Necromancer who's life is full of one curse after the other.
Summary:
Kendra is a very misunderstood girl of 19 still young but old beyond her years. Thrice cursed it seems like her very being is a foul blemish on the face of life like all the many other monsters and creatures that haunt the night. Kendra is very closely connected to the afterlife. She can see ghosts and command the undead, mustering infernal powers Kendra is occasionally haunted by spirits that are angry with her. Angry that she denies what the world tells her she is and angry that she does not give in to the evil that surrounds her. She is not shy, and she is hard to insult as she already things very little of herself, Kendra is very cool and aloof as she chooses to suppress all her emotions. Disconnected is the word to describe Kendra. She disconnects herself from the reality of her being and keeps it sealed away in her mind, keeping it from crowding her thoughts and pushing her to the depression she had only a few years earlier before meeting the Professor. Despite many hardships brought on by the ignorance and superstition of the common citizen, Kendra never ignores a call for help and will put herself in harms way if it means someone else, someone normal and not another monster like herself, can live another day. Needless to say. Kendra is unwelcome in most societies and as such Kendra travels. Wandering from place to place in a deep rut feeling like she has no place anywhere. She feels the call of her true mother, as the professor said she would sooner or later, but the Professor taught her all about the Hag that gave birth to her and would steal away what humanity she has if she responds to the call. Rather then accept the call Kendra travels away from it. Her life as it is is still better then one of a truly evil creature, a true monster. It was Professor Lorrimor who stole Kendra away from her depression. She was only called by "It" at the time. The Professor gave her her name, and taught her about herself. If it were not for the Professor, Kendra would be an evil Hag at present day. The Professor was the closest thing to family Kendra ever knew. Kendra had received word of the Professors death and the news hit her hard. He was the only one in the world Kendra would feel truly saddened to know had died, and yet he was gone already. Just a few years after Kendra met him. Kendra is determined to attend his funeral. Kendra is a Black Blooded Changeling Oracle of Bones. Now if that isn't a mouthful XD

I'd like this as well. The 25gp cost is beyond silly. Just state that xWater created this way, through Bless/Curse, is not recognizable as anything other then normal water as such it has no apparent value to merchants. Otherwise, why would anyone use this spell when you could save spells and buy it for the same material cost (Even more expensive on your part due to spell use). It doesn't really matter too much on my part. But in general I dislike the way the Bless/Curse Waters were made. |
