![]() ".. And so the old pharao secured himself a piece of Osirion with this staff. Now if you would join me at the next display, i'm going to tell you about.." Calib lead the audience to a display near the guard, trying to block his vision, and proceed as planned. If it is not possible, he will sneak in a ghost sound spell sounding like something crashing in the next room ![]()

![]() "Ok, I've got an idea. While i distract the rest of the guest in this room, i subtly cast a spell of silence over the display and you Heydar, should be able to take the mask without anyone hearing the alarm." If they agree, Calib will first cast expeditious retreat on himself. Next he will wait untill there is only 6 guests in the room and start a lecture on ancient Osirion (using Oratory and Act to fascinate them), turning their attention away from the mask display.
That is 1 lvl 1 spell, 1 lvl 2 spell, and 4 rounds of bardic performance If he fails to fascinate all in the crowd, are there are too many guests/guards he suggest they use his wand of silent image and a ghost sound spell to fake a theft from another display ![]()

![]() "I would definitely prefer if we could persuade the good Mr. Docent into giving us the mask for this purpose. I've had dealings with him before, though professional only so I don't know if that would be any help at all. He is, like any other Osiriontologist I know, extremely protective of his findings and his research. If he won't give it up, i see no other way than to borrow it without his permission. We will of course return it afterwards." Calib will look for Arch Docent or his office. ![]()

![]() "You have been very helpfull Raegos and we thank you for that. Now we need to find that merchant and hope he didn't sold it. Seems very unlikely. Fortunately for us such a mask can't have been cheap so that leaves out several options. I am quite sure we need to find a rich collector or noble of some sort. One last question Raegos; did you told any of this to other than us?" Knowledge local to know who it could be 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 ![]()

![]() "You are the only one to have seen the inside of the pyramid on lived to tell about it. If you won't help us, your statement will probably prove to be the truth. We are going in there in any case, and we are going to need every bit of information and help we can get if we are to have a chance to survive in there" Versatile performance (perform oratory -> Diplomacy) 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27 ![]()

![]() "Are you Raegos? My name is Calib Anumari, osiriontologist and adventurer. We all work for the Pathfinder Society. As you might have heard already the pyramid of the Four Pharaos of Ascension has been uncovered by the elements frenzy in the dessert. We were told you once were a part of an expedition into the very same pyramid 50 years ago, and you might hold important knowledge we would do wise to inquire about before starting our own expedition" ![]()

![]() Yes calib will bring her along unless anyone protest
On the way over to Raegos he will chat her up flirting in a subtle (though not indiscreet) way, asking more about who she is and how she became interested in history. He will tell her about his expedition and close to death enounter with the mummy, and show her his scar on his chest.
Spoiler:
But not tell her or anyone else in the party about the curse he suspects is haunting him ---- Hearing Dar's request to study the scrolls Heydar bought he chimes in
---- At Raegos Hw will reluctantly hand over his notebook and scrolls

![]() Calib has not been this excited since he heard the first rumors about the uncovering of the pyramid of the Four Pharaos of Ascension. Normally when he was walking through the Malhitu Bazaar he would take time to stop and browse the different stalls hoping to find something something the seller didn't know the value of. But this was different. There simply wasn't time for simple browsing today. Something much larger and much, much more important was right before his grasp. He is wearing his favorite brown vest opened just enough so you can see the scar the mummy left, runnnig down his well trained chest. His trademark whip is belted on his hip next to an expensive looking quiver, wich look rather wierd concidering he is not equipped with any ranged weapons. As he makes his way through the maze-like streets he walks by a camel riding, rough looking dwarf making a rude gesture towards a cart driver yelling at him. With a shake of his head he put it out of his mind and moves further along the streets. Soon after he finds the tent he is looking for. He walks up to the entrance where he show his invitation. This isn't like any other auction wich takes place on a daily basis. This is an underground auction, the kind wich is known to host several valuable artifacts, and held by the Kemesarian. A man known to deal in genuine artifacts. This can only be good.
He moves through the crowd and spot several known faces he politely nod at, including Arch Docent with whom he has dealt with several times before. Suddenly his expression change and his smile turns to a frown as he spots an old rival; Paracount Julistar.
Suddenly he realize he's been so caught up in old rivalry that he allmost forgot he wasn't here on personal business. A week ago he was contacted by venture captain jalden Krenshar on behalf of the Pathfinder Society. The Society had heard about Calibs expedition and had offered to finance another expedition to the newy uncovered pyramid of The Four Pharaos of Ascension. After the venture captain had convinced him that it was no joke he had eagerly accepted. That is why he is here now he reminds himself, to meet with a contact called the Mithral Scarab.... And to buy a few valuables of course.
With his smile and excitement renewed he settles in a couple of seath behind Paracount and his group.
He reach inside his backpack and pull out a couple of heavy notebooks containing description of various well known artifacts. Each of the books is stuffed with pieces of paper filled with notes Calib has added himself. As he's done looking through his notes he look up and spot the burly dwarf from the street and wonder what such a primitive person might be doing in a sophisticated place like this, surrounded by intelligent people.

Read tome of battle as tome of secrets, so both the swashbuckler and the artificer i made was from ToS. Hmm. Will have to do some rethinking then, but i will still have him finished today. |
