Chapter I: Far From Home

You slowly slide into consciousness and darkness recedes to reveal a red fluid surrounding you. The fluid is warm and viscous. You reach out with your hands and feel the walls of your Pod. You've been curled in fetal position and the pod is egg shaped. The walls of the bottom half are solid, but the top half is smooth and stretchy like rubber or flesh or some kind of membrane.

You push your hand through the membrane and light breaks through the fissure. You pull yourself through the hole and crawl out of the Sac-Pod. You fall onto your hands and knees and vomit onto the smooth but irregularly cracked floor. You are naked and you realize that there are inch thick tubes connected to your stomach at the belly button and to the back of your neck. The tubes lock into circular metal ports embedded deep into your skin.

The pinkish red fluid flows from the Sac-Pod onto the floor and into a circular metal grate in the center of the room. The grate is underneath an oddly shaped dull metal table. Above the table unrecognizable tools and sharp implements hang from a slightly rusted machine made of the same cold grey metal as the table itself. A pale yellowish light illuminates the room from a piece of the machine.

You look around the room and see two other Sac-Pods embedded in round structures next to yours. The walls of the room are bone-white with a slightly concave shape. Shallow cracks and clefts in the walls from patterns of irregular shapes.

You do not know where you are. You remember a bright light erupting from something above you and a deafening silence and then darkness.

Who were you before you were taken? And what do you do now?


Hello! So to start off the game I want you all to work together to make a group of adventurers.

In this game the world is a dying Cosmic Titan named Nethos. The Titan is kept alive through monumental rituals and the consumption of magical energy. Crystallized blood is used to fuel the rituals and spells that are needed to keep the heart of the world beating. Because of this, blood is a valued commodity in this world.

Adventurers, or as they are referred to in this world, Reavers, are employed to hunt monsters and harvest their blood to be sold back to a group called The First Order. The First Order is an ancient faction that controls the Bastion, the city where magic is poured into the heart of Nethos.

Monster blood is extremely efficient source of power for the World God, so Reavers scour the globe for monsters to slay. One complication with this system is that not all "Monsters" deserve to be slain and not all Reavers care enough to tell the difference.

Because of this, the Beast Races have distanced themselves from the Old Races of the world. Dragon Empires, Orcish Tribes, and the like are vast and mighty, reaching all across Nethos' remaining arm and further around the world.

The Old Races: Dwarves and Elves and their allies, live in closed nations, distancing themselves from the chaos of the rest of the world.

This game will be set on The Back of Nethos. The Back is a dangerous, lawless place. Civilization is spread thin and danger lurks behind every chasm, every tree, and every peak.

You are a group of Reavers. You hunt monsters for a living, either for the gold or for the good of the world. It's up to you to decide what kind of people you want to be, but I will ask you to make characters who will cooperate with each other.

As you are making your characters try to make up a bond with another member of the party and a goal. For example: Another PC is my character's brother and I want to gain power and take back my homeland from the Bad Guys who conquered it.
