Background
Brevaddelar (Brev for short) arrived in the region of Tanner’s Crossing many years ago. Some of the older town residents remember him first showing up, but for most people, he was there before they were born and so it’s like he was always there. He doesn’t talk about where he comes from apart from occasional cryptic references to a harsh childhood. He’s never actually lived in Tanner’s Crossing itself. Instead, he’s always lived off the land around him, coming into town only to sell fish he’s caught and buy meagre supplies. He has four great joys in life:
1) Fishing. He can spend hours and hours fishing, and if anyone is with him, he will talk their heads off the whole time. He’s usually alone though, so he will talk to any animals, insects, or fish he sees and/or catches.
2) Collecting insects. In the entire time he been in the area, he has been conducting an extensive survey of the local insect life, collecting specimens for cataloguing and study. There is nothing more exciting to him than discovering a new kind of insect that he has never seen before.
3) Magic. He’s had little in the way of formal training, but he’s fascinated by the possibilities, and desperately hopes to learn more magic eventually.
4) Music. This is Brev's newest joy, only recently discovered in the past few years. He has a decent singing voice himself, but is somewhat shy about using it (about the only thing he's shy about doing). However, he loves to listen to others sing and play music. He first discovered this love by hearing a cleric named Venedictos singing when he was visiting the local monastery of Shelyn to sell some fish he'd caught. He made it a point to introduce himself to the young acolyte, and in the few years since, the two have become good friends. Brev often assists Venedictos in searching for herbs, providing his understanding of nature and survival in the wild in return for hearing Venedictos sing.

Brev is thin with large green eyes and a mass of wild blue-green hair. His skin has a hint of pale blue to it, which can sometimes give him an almost ghostly appearance in the right light. He generally wears plain brown clothes. Although his appearance generally turns observers off at first, there is something about his demeanour that makes people like him, even those determined no to like him. He is 3 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs about 38 lbs.
