Hey Will, remember to customize one of the rooms of the ship into a "garden" cabin, when you do your map modifications.

Finn I like it too. You will be invited into the garden cabin after the meeting where Olek will conduct some research with his botany skill to determine if they are really seeds of Yggdrasil. Can't wait to see what the result will be. My Proffesion (botanist) is not bad.

Hearing the bell, Olek accompanies Nerine to the meeting room.

Male River Spirit Druid 3

With narrow and elongated fingers from a moonlight pale hand wrapped in wet leather straps, the water spirit Deep One puts the perculiar seed back into a pouch and into one of many inner pockets of the still-wet longcoat that reaches to his knees where his leather boots begin. The coat has taken on a much darker shade of blue after his recent dive. He pulls the left side of the coat a bit back for Nerine to properly see the black lizard-like hide amor he is wearing underneath and the scimitar in his belt. Of course Nerine already knows that the pale man with the thick dark locks who is acting the calm and withdrawn botanist, is in fact an adept warrior. The mystical markings in his face and on his arms actually hides many wounds. She has seen how well he can hit a mark from a distance when throwing a javelin even in poor conditions, and seen how he is specialized in wielding scimitar and shield, and how he dances around with a quarterstaff, fearless and determined. She knows that if, or rather when, it comes to combat he is ready for it.

Secret Language:

"Let us dispose of the wretched creatures tonight then. I can't stand the sight of such hideous abominations. They are an insult to the cycle of nature."

His gaze seems to change and so does his tone of voice and his pose. It is like he draws himself into a dark room inside his soul. Just as suddenly as he "dissapeared" he comes back to life.

Secret Language:

"I was in the sea. I spoke with a school of fish. They told me that something glistens down there. Maybe we should investigate that some time soon before the ship moves to far away from it. Maybe we will learn more about this world from what lies at the bottom of its ocean..."

He begins buttoning his coat while waiting for Nerine to reflect and response.

Male River Spirit Druid 3

I can't see it :(

Male River Spirit Druid 3

1. I would like to see a map of the ship. Can it be provided?

2. Is it okay with you Will, if I swap the 13 in Str with the 8 in Int. I have been playing Olek a lot smarter than what he is in the numbers, and I like the way he is.

Nerine finds Olek in the darkest corner of the cargo hull, standing behind some crates and barrels, out of sight of anyone who enters.
He looks around to make sure no one else is there than him and the other Deep One (Spot1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25; Listen 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15) before answering her in the secret language of the Deep Ones, just in case a rogue is listening in.

Secret Language:

"I have some things that we need to speak of, Sister. First of all, Finn approached me a short while ago. He gave me some seeds of what he says is the World Ash. He asked me to plant one for him in the "garden". Apparently he has a whole pouch full of these."

He shows the seed that Finn gave him to Nerine.

Secret Language:

"I have not examined it yet, but it could very well be true that they are what he claims them to be... And if they are, I would prefer if we kept them safe and secret and made Finn swear not to tell anyone else about them. Which brings me to the next thing I want to discuss. The others on the ship. What are your thoughts on the rest of the crew?"

WillpowerDM:

Below the Water:
What the fish are saying makes little sense to Olek, but he decides to memorize it, as it might become useful knowledge in the future. Two things that made a little more sense to him than the rest. One was all the glitters below is not cold. Olek figures that it refers to something of value on the bottom of the sea. Possibly sunken treasure. But such matters little to Olek. The not cold part however he cannot figure out. The second thing was the fish that said Not from here. Not waterborn.. He figured that was about his inquiry about the creatures that came aboard. Could they have been something they had dragged with them from their own dying homeworld...

Olek thanks the school of fish and turns to Lijin.

"Lijin. I want you to swim to ocean floor and look for something that glitters. If there is danger down there, return to the Brotherhood as quickly as you can. I will keep an eye out for you from the deck."

With those words he begins the swim back up to the surface and the shadow above that is the Brotherhood. He appears as close to the side of the ship as possible, so as not to be noticed by anyone on deck. Letting go of the piece of wood he had used as a torch below the water, he watches as the light descents into the murky depths of the sea, before using the rope from Nerine's carpentry scaffolding to climb back onboard the ship as stealthy as possible. Let me know if you require any skills checks

Appearing back on the deck, as out of nowhere, the keen observer would notice that Olek is soaked from top to toe. If anyone is standing nearby they will even notice the swap swap of his boots when he walks toward the stairs that lead below-deck. On his way there he walks by Nerine, "accidently" stumbles into her and whispers to her ear in the secret language of the Deep Ones.

Secret Language (Nerine and WillpowerDM only):

"Meet me in the storage hull below-deck. I have to tell you something."

He then continues below-deck, and tries to attract as little attention as possible on his way to the cargo hull where he stands to wait in a shadowy corner behind some crates.

What time of day is it?

Male River Spirit Druid 3

WillpowerDM:
Looking forward to hear the wisdom of the fish :)

Olek accepts the seeds, puts them in a pouch of his own and into a pocket and signals to Finn to lean down before he whispers:

WillpowerDM and Finn Mackool:

"Not everyone on this ship is interested in the preservation of life, my friend. Best not to mention anything about these seeds to anyone else. I see now why you were chosen to come on this voyage, mr. Finn. Carrying on the seeds of the Great World Tree is an important mission indeed. I will plants these in my "garden". You are welcome to come and see me in the "garden" cabin when I plant them later today. But I have important stuff to do now, so please pardon me for now, my friend."

Male River Spirit Druid 3

Olek turns around, surprised and holding a piece of wood. He did not think that anyone had noticed him, except Nerine of course. He had noticed she kept watch on how the situation was evolving and he trusted her to take the reasonable action, should it come to that, to insure that a possible fight wouldn't escalate and somehow fudge the whole mission. He had assumed that everyone was too caught up in the whole duel buisness to notice him, but alas the giant was standing there now, asking him about plants.

"Oh hello Finn. I didn't see you there. Plants, yes. I am assigned with taking care of the vegetation we have braught with us from our homeworld. Why do you inquire me about plants, my friend? What do you wish to know?

Male River Spirit Druid 3

After discretely pulling Sunny aside and healing her wound with a touch, the mysterious Olek Molotva vanishes below-deck to check on the "garden".

DM only:
Inside the privacy of his cabin he casts goodberry twice (conjuring 4d4 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 3) = 11 magic berries). He puts them in one of the pockets of his blue longcoat, cleans up any mess there might be in the "garden" and returns to the deck.

When he returns to the deck, it is to a quarrel, which he sees as nothing more than unnescesary bickering. Behind some barrels or crates, out of sight of the others, he casts light on a piece of wood, and then discretely climbs overboard and jumps into the water.

DM only:
In the water he seeks out Lijin underneath the Brotherhood to inquire about the situation below the ocean's surface. He swims deeper with Lijin and seeks out a fish native to the world racial power speak with animals to inquire about what those creatures were that came aboard earlier and anything else the fish might tell him about the world.

I see I must now save Gunny from this dangerous path of Nerull, and show him the power of the Natural world.

Considering I cause the entire ship(or him, or the sails, or whatever) to glow with faerie fire, I think I can do so pretty easily.

Hey I'm the one you need to save here.

Also can we put a planter on board so I can grow a tree. Please its important to finn.

Also captain just in case you were wondering that was a some advice and a vote of support but also a reminder that should some one challenge you to change the "rules" finn won't interfere on either side unless he sees some do something he thinks violates the duel.

I'm a botanist. That's what I do. I have a "garden" for a cabin.

Male River Spirit Druid 3

For what it's worth, to Sunny's knowledge, it could just as well be a racial spell as a druid spell. I am a strange river spirit guy after all.

Male River Spirit Druid 3

I thought the other PC's were the only other crewmembers who knew our secret, but if you prefer, I pulled her aside and healed her discretely. And if it is a secret why is your halfling jumping into the water?

Male River Spirit Druid 3

In the eerie crimson light of the sun Olek Molotva's smooth skin seems to be glistening and his eyes become darker like they are adjusting to the light. He has been standing on the middle of the deck near the railing, watching the combat without participating. He did not have to pull his weapons when the "creatures" came since everything seemed to be under control very quickly. He noticed that Sunny got hurt so he approaches the elf, knowing that it will probably be better if he healed Sunny's wounds, instead of letting the mad surgeon tend to it.
"Let me see your wound, Sunny. I can heal it for you." He pulls back the sleeves of his dark blue overcoat to reveal long, pale forearms bearing the same mysterious tattoos that covers his face, along with a recent cut-wound.
Olek Molotva casts cure light wounds on Sunny.
Cure light wounds 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Male River Spirit Druid 3

Pretty sure you missed my action post with the rolls on friday. Where do I pick up? I would like to assist in the fight and I am on the deck.

Male River Spirit Druid 3

Olek Moltova watches in awe as the smaller sun splits in two. He doesn't even register what Kyre is saying.
Will save1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
"Cursed!" He mumbles. He holds on to the railing while he watches the happening on the sky.
Spot to see fireball1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Spot to see hidden1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Balance1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Male River Spirit Druid 3

Show him who's the boss Nerine!

Kyre jumps, as if the botanist's reassurance was startling, before resuming her habitual courtesy. Thank you, Master Olek. But I'll be all right, I think. Just getting a little distracted. Tell me, do you see something in that red sun? The second one? It's... there's something to it. Something I scarcely credit my senses with.

¨

Olek lets go of Kyre's arm, when he is sure that she is not going to panick and fall in. Then he takes hold of the railing with both his hands and takes a hard look at the two suns. When he speaks his voice is serene to the degree of grim, and his back is turned, so she cannot see that his facial expression is very grim.
"Hmm. I don't know Lady Sannah. It is strange, but I don't know what to think of it yet. I doubt we have escaped the doom of our own world, only to enter another world that is doomed. I do not believe that to be our fate."
He turns around and looks at Kyre with a comforting and friendly smile.
"Storm is getting worse. I better retire to my "garden", and make sure everything is alright down there. Would you like to accompany me below-deck, milady?" He offers his hand.

After only a little time has passed, Kyre's absent-mindedness becomes noticeable; she loses so much coordination, in fact, that she fails to compensate for the wind and waves at a crucial moment, at least for her - she is in some danger of being swept overboard...

When Olek notice that Kyre is about to loose her footing dangerously close to the railing, he hurries over to her and takes hold of her upper arm. "If you fall in I will jump in after you. Just stay calm and try to remain in balance."

Male River Spirit Druid 3

The pale and illusive "Botanist" who was first introduced to the ship's crew as Olek Molotva notable crewmembers (in particular the other PCs) knows that he is a Deep One , whose skin and hair seems to be always wet and who always wears a deep blue overcoat reports to the captain.
"Captain. As you know I am a river spirit and a Deep One. Water is a natural element for me. If there is anything I can do, let me know."

Male River Spirit Druid 3

About keeping our spells a relative secret, good idea.

@Willpower, I see the "garden" cabin as the same environment as the part of the ship where Jaylend tends the lifestock, and maybe as a semi-cooperative effort. Do you have any other plans for Kripya, or can she be my botanical assistant who tends to the flowers and plants, when I am not there. Her personality does not seem to be far from that of Olek's.

Male River Spirit Druid 3

Great. Fixed skills so they are 3,5 instead of Pathfinder.

Actually I think Olek is ready for play now.

Oh there is one thing, can you stat up his manta ray, Lijin, for me, Will?

And Will, will we ever get to use more than 1st lvl spells, should I already delete them from my spell-list or just leave them there, knowing I can't use them yet, but maybe later?

@Nerine - I assume you and I were part of the same Wave, both of us being Deep Ones. Do you have any thoughts on that, or should we not mind that at all.

Male River Spirit Druid 3

Thanks Kai'itza. Not offended at all. Just kinda bitter I have to remold the whole sheet now, according to pre-Pathfinder srd.

Male River Spirit Druid 3

I know, the question shows I haven't paid enough attention to the Recruitment thread, but we are playing with the Pathfinder rules are we not?

If that is the case I am finished with skills now.

Added "Botanist" to the name ;)

Going to add some equipment and then I am going to write an in-game post relative to the "two suns"/storm event.

Sorry for being slow.

Male River Spirit Druid 3

I have added some info to my character profile that I hope you will approve of, Will. The only stuff I need to do now is add equipment and skills.

Male River Spirit Druid 3

Olek Molotva is standing by the railing, watching the ocean and sky in silence. For a time he was in the water, speaking with his manta ray Lijin. The other crewmembers aboard the ship knows that Olek is a river spirit and a Deep One, and that his purpose on the ship is that of a an expert in sea life and botany.

Male River Spirit Druid 3

Will be with you very shortly. Congratulations with the pregnancy Kai'itza. That's big.

I will wild-shape into a typical lovecraftian Deep One, or maybe a Manta Ray. Perhaps a penguin. I hear they are efficient swimmers.

I take that back.

I will give all money except for clothing and a quarterstaff and give it to ship, trade goods and provitions.

Roll me some numbers, Will. This is this guy's River Spirit Deep One.
