Description:
While only of average height (5'8") and weight (200 pounds) for a half-orc, Grondar is heavily muscled and he does his best to make sure people know it. He normally wears a bloodstained black leather vest and trousers, though he often wears a reversible black and red cloak and mask for "work" .

Personality:
As a whole, Grondar isn't really fond of the living in general. Virtually every living soul he's ever encountered has brought him pain, or at least that's how it is in his head. Because of this, Grondar seeks to inflict that pain on others who deserve it. He'll work with others, but at the same time he's the sort that has a plan to kill every person he meets. He's fiercely devoted to the Whispering Way, convinced that he'll finally get revenge on those who have wronged him once Tar-Baphon rules over them once more.

Backstory:
Grondar grew up the bastard son of a human noble in Ustalav on a sizable estate near Tamrivena. While no one ever told him how his father, Damien Vercau, "acquired" his mother Krisha, he did know his father was a warrior of some repute that was known to have lead the occasional counter-raid into Belkzen. That told him all he needed to know. For reasons he never fully understood, his father favored Grondar far more than his human half-brothers and sisters. Kelyn (his eldest half-brother), Linai (a half sister that was born only a day before him), and Kelvana (another half-sister two years younger) always resented this fact as did their mother Milana. They appreciated the prestige Damien had so they didn't outwardly attempt to undermine him, they constantly plotted behind his back to punish him for ignoring them in favor of Grondar and his orcish mother.
After Kelyn returned from his second tour on the Sunwall and had amassed a name of his own, Milana finally saw a chance to enact her plan. She concocted a plan including a half-dozen servants, a trader from Molthune, a Varisian harrower, and, according to some, the Red Mantis assassins to kill Damien and frame Grondar's mother for the crime. The plan went off without a hitch and the local count had no difficulty executing Grondar's mother. Even though his father's will ensured that Grondar could live on the estate with both his parents gone, his half-siblings tormented the barely 17-year old Half-Orc to no end, especially Kelyn who enjoyed regaling him with tales of how he'd slaughtered his green-skinned cousins. Grondar was looking for some place to belong as well as someone who could help him get his revenge. He found both in the same place.
There had always been whispers around the manor of a cult in the city of something called the Whispering Way. What little Grondar could find in his father's library told him they had once ruled all Ustalav under a powerful master who had died at Aroden's hand and returned. This intrigued Grondar and shortly after his 18th birthday, he scrounged enough supplies and gold to slip off to the city and seek them out. That, as they say, was that.
