Bobek bolts across the clearing, skidding to a stop well out of reach of the serpents jaws and claws. His longspear dances in a flurry of jabs. "Hyah!" "Hu-wah!" Yay! A natural 20. Score one for the little guy. Critical Confirmation: 13 + 1 = 14. Normal damage is 4 + 2(skirmishing) = 6. If a critical, damage is 21 (2 additional d8 rolls)

The shouts of Malleon startle Bobek awake. "Danger!" He rolls out of his blanket, ignoring the stabbing pain in his wounded shoulder. Seeing a slithering, scaly horror writhing around Malleon, Bobek grabs his trusty shortbow and strings an arrow while rising to a crouching position. I'm guessing that's all I can do this round, as that's several move actions, and it's hard go right from deep sleep to attacking something...
M Human Scout1
Knowledge(Nature) 18 + 3 = 21 Bobek abruptly grabs Malleon's arm. "You'd best stick to the dead wood on the forest floor. These trees are older than time itself, and some of 'em have wisdom of the spirits. They may not take kindly to an axe choppin' their limbs off!" Bobek chips in; collecting firewood branches that have fallen at the fringes of the clearing, while keeping a respectful distance from the Great Tree in a sort of holy reverence.

Bobek nods, "Aye, stranger. I can wrap up this shoulder and I'll be fit to travel. If we meet another cowardly sniping ugly like this one, I might have to take cover..." Bobek grabs the 11 arrows and 5gp to distribute among the party, "At least he saw fit to compensate us for our trouble in killing him!"

Bobek yanks the bloody arrow out of his shoulder and winces at Oso, "You got that right, big guy. I don't care to be skewered like a stupid little fox. Let's see if we can figure out why he wanted to kill me." Bobek kneels by the fallen Hobgoblin and inspects him. Search Check 11 + 5 = 16
M Human Scout1
Bobek looks where Oso points, sees a Hobgoblin with a bow, feels the throbbing pain from the arrow in his shoulder, and quickly pieces all the facts together. "That bastard shot me!" Bobek tears after the fleeing archer and unleashes another arrow from his shortbow while on the run. Move 30 feet and Ranged Attack: 14 + 2 = 16
M Human Scout1
Seeing his "human shield" under attack, Bobek will spring into action, and race from the tree in a wide arc behind Chalen - dodging and weaving to search for the perfect angle and finally unleash an arrow at the remaining bird. Ranged Attack 12 + 2 = 14
M Human Scout1
Bobek spins around in horror, futilely clutching at his gory shoulder and straining against the iron trap claws. Blood spatters everywhere, in his hair, in his eyes. The lad fails to see anything except the dark void of unconsciousness threatening to engulf him in it's silent embrace. "Ack. My... my shoulder! I'm hurt... bad..." 1 HP left. Spot Check 4 + 6 = 10

Bobek scowls at the lumber camp with barely suppressed disgust, his eyes keenly surveying the layout of the buildings as if drawing up a mental map. Then he pretends to wander carelessly, while tallying up the number of guards and lumber workers present in the camp. Observing the rough laborers hacking apart majestic Darkwood trees, Bobek grits his teeth in anger. I can't believe we have to come crawling to these forest rapers to ask for help. Surely there's another way to find our path...

Bobek shivers as he stomps the frozen carcasses of spiders to black dust on the ground. secondary Fort Save = 20 (dang, where are those numbers when I roll attacks? Bobek regards Chalen with a newfound awe, "Stranger, you've got some wild power within you! P'haps the beast-girl was drawn to your magics rather than the taste of my skin?" Bobek frowns at the funeral pyre as he gathers his shortbow, "One thing's sure... she won't be feasting again."
M Human Scout1
Wow, cutting us no slack! Fort roll 1 = 17, Fort roll 2 = 20 (whew!) Bobek will swallow his fear and blink the spiders from his eyes while taking a 5 ft step away from Jeva (not quite clear on the positions, but hope there is a spot where he can get reach and not fall in the trapdoor). With a lunge of his longspear, Bobek yells shrilly "You'll not eat me for dinner!" Rolled a 2 to attack. Crap. Wasted all my good rolls on the Fort saves!
M Human Scout1
Bobek stifles a chuckle at the unusual sight unfolding beneath him. Then, as he sees Chalen sloshing oil around in the tight space packed with people and torches, he recalls the lessons taught to him by the druids of the forest: "Careful with that flame, stranger! Fire can be a good friend or a savage foe!" His scout instincts kicking in, Bobek spins to survey the surrounding area for danger, and to check on the little girl. Rolled a Natural 20 for a Spot Check, for a total of 26. Wow, I'm really rolling at the extremes, here.
M Human Scout1
Bobek hesitates, startled by the extreme violence that has transformed Oso's demeanor, and by the arcane fireworks shooting from Chalen's hand. Then regaining his composure, looses another arrow at the Monstrous Spider.
Not sure if we are playing fumble checks, but if so I roll a d20 + 2 = 19 Dex Check.

So it turns out my Wi-Fi isn't working at the beach (grrr, what's a vacation without the interwebs?), but I found an internet cafe. Thanks for going for me, I'll continue pumping arrows at the beast until it drops, and then generally hang out with Chalen since I'm technically "guiding" him

Kobolds! Of course it's kobolds. Now why didn't I see that? Fearing that where there's a trapdoor, there's a trap, Bobek loosens his longspear from his back and holds it at the ready. "Careful now! If what this girls says is true, some of these lizard critters could be hidin' in there..."

Nice, Oso -- I was writing my post while you wrote yours! Bobek grins, "It's okay, friend. A good tracker can read what's old and what's fresh as clear as you can read a... oh, wait, maybe you can't read? Never mind..." Hmm... if the children were here recently, there should be tracks left in this thick ash and the mud from yesterday's rain. Bobek kneels and peers closely at the ash and mud. Survival check(Tracking feat) = 16(d20) + 4 = 20

Bobek flashes Chalen a toothy grin, "If by 'upscale', you're meanin' ladies available by the hour, extra-strong brew, and a wide assortment of dice n' card games, then yes, the 'Lady' is yer place. If you're meanin' fluffy pillows and a perfumed bath, well, then you're in the wrong town! Falcon's Hollow is a town with dirt under its fingernails and a guilty conscience black as charcoal..." Bobek's grin fades as he scowls at the rainy sky now. Could be this town deserves a plague, and far worse punishment for its evil ways.

Innocent kids don't deserve no punishment for what their fathers done..."

As the stranger stalks out of the bar, Bobek rolls his eyes and chuckles to the barkeep, "Outsiders - who do they think they are, marching in here and insulting us. 'Slumming', indeed!" Bobek grabs the half-empty flask of Chalen's wine and downs it in a long gulp. "Ahhh. Well, I guess Outsiders are good for something, after all!" Wiping his mouth, Bobek grins and squints at the barkeep, "Say, did you mention that you knew of some work? I'm always looking for a few more coins to line my pocket, and apparently there's no money to be made as a Guide in this town!"
