Jozan breathes a sigh of relief and calls forth the last of his holy power to heal everyone.

Healing Font: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

"Hopefully this resolves all of the issues for the academy. Who would have thought such a creature would be wreaking havoc on an institution of learning like this?"

Jozan calls forth the divine power given to him by Sarenrae's grace, praying for Zenobia, "Sarenrae, heal her wounds!"

He steps forward again, hoping to distract the creature so Red Roy or Zenobia can get a good shot in.

Jozan backs up a step, trying to allow Red Roy space across from Zenobia to put the protean into a blender. He reaches for his holy symbol and prays, "Sarenrae, let me be your scimitar and strike!"

Jozan continues striding through the masses of paper and books, drawing and slashing with his scimitar once he sets up across from Zenobia.

Courageous Anthem slash: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 13

The slash is awkward and barely gets momentum springing from his sheathe with all of the distracting, harrying paperwork around.

Jozan switches the beads in hand for his holy symbol, crying out, "Drop! Drop as the Dawnflower blesses you with her presence!" He fills the room with the power of his voice, demanding the creature show its respect to Sarenrae.

Moved Jozan in next to Red Roy, as he was the one distracting the Protean.

Jozan, taking his opportunity, pulls the beads from his pouch and focuses on their energy resonating in his hand.

Religion: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 1 = 13

Hero Point Religion: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 1 = 15

He can't quite seem to get the energy to move the way he wants it to, and no rift forms.

While the creature is distracted showing the "homework" to Professor Bun Bun and Zenobia, Jozan nudges Red Roy, "Hey Red Roy, can you keep that thing's attention while I try something?" He shifts the pouch with the vibrating beads to the front of his belt. "I think these beads may be able to stop whatever that thing is doing here..."

If someone can provide a distraction for me, I'll go for the dismissal. Jozan is not exactly well versed in deceiving others...Otherwise, PBB and Zara can get started on the homework to feed that thing's ego.

I don't want to step on anyone's toes, I just don't feel like giving this thing what it wants will be good for the long term health of the school.

Jozan fingers the pouch where the beads reside, considering the options. How loud is the dismissal? Will it be noticeable if the creature is focused on the others doing the "homework"?

Jozan thinks, trying to recall all of his lessons and training from the past. While thinking he rumbles out, as low as he can, "Do not trust her, it feels like she's trying to harm the school..."

"I think we found our student #19..." Jozan growls. He steps forward, though not too far from his companions.

"You say you'll tell the headmaster that we are on grounds after hours, but you speak of homework as though you are a student yourself. Are you one of the teachers, or a student?" Jozan idly fingers his holy symbol of Sarenrae, hoping to keep the being talking until the more learned members of his party can figure out what he is talking to.

Jozan nods, thinking of all of the explanations they've come up with so far. "I would not be surprised if the 13th student is some form of trickster. There has been too much energy from the Maelstrom spilling about, and those beads found earlier being a focus does not dissuade me from this theory." He breathes deeply through his nose for a moment, before focusing and readying to move with the team.

Jozan watches Zenobia and Red Roy gracefully move about the room and shifts uncomfortably in his armor. He glances down at the opossum family and studies them a bit as he says, "I think it's best that I stay down here with you guys, don't want to cause all this equipment to fall and startle you."

Nature: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 1 = 10

Distracted by their actions, he absentmindedly answers the Professor, "Truly, I do not know, most of my knowledge is from books at my home cloister. But I feel like these little guys can't cause too much ruckus."

"They are simply frightened. Let me try and calm them down so they don't feel cornered enough to attack. Sarenrae, guide my actions..."

Jozan crouches, lowering himself to not be as intimidating, and gathers some of the rations from his pack, slowly offering them to the opossum family. "Do not worry little friends, we are not here to harm you."

Nature: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 20 Let's try once more with a hero point.

Nature: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 28

Seeing their hackles lower and their curiosity take hold, Jozan smiles. "That's it."

Jozan subtly pulls the light back to give the small creatures some breathing room, recalling what he learned in the cloister. Nature +7

"Good idea. At the very least it could be a distraction for Zenobia and Red Roy to sneak about." Jozan wills the orb hovering over his shoulder forward and through the crack, showering the entire shack in bright light.

Jozan gathers his gear, keeping his shield out and stowing his sword. "Don't forget about the last mystery, Student #13. I have a feeling once we deal with the shack there will be an apparition, or perhaps some demonic trickster before us."

I think we can wait, I've still got fonts good to go.

Jozan pulls out the scroll granted him by the society and reads the magic off the parchment.

Heal Red Roy: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Then he grasps his holy symbol and intones his own prayer, "Sarenrae, guide your warmth into these wounds."

Heal Zenobia: 1d8 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 1 = 13

After his prayer is concluded he perks up to Zenobia's words. "A haunt you say? Let me see if there is one around..."

Religion: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 1 = 19

Jozan lowers his shield and breathes out a sigh. "Alright," he says, "Let's see to those bashes and bruises." He begins moving to take care of the injuries suffered by Zenobia and Red Roy.

Medicine Zenobia: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 1 = 13
Medicine Red Roy: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 1 = 17
Heal: 2d8 ⇒ (8, 5) = 13

Jozan's hands are still shaking after the fight, and he fumbles with his medicine kit while applying it to Zenobia. He begins working on Red Roy and calms enough to focus. If it has not yet been an hour, disregard Red Roy's roll and I'll be casting heal instead.

"Understood Professor." Saying such, Jozan advances once more into the fray, bringing his scimitar down on the mannequin.

Slash!: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 11

Too much is happening for him to get a clean slice in. He hunkers down behind his shield, trying to figure out a new way to harm the construct.

Jozan does some quick calculations in his head before backing away and praying, "Sarenrae, grant me your divine flame!" He sucks in a breath, then expels a gout of flame from his mouth, catching just the dummy and leaving his companions untouched. DC 18 Basic Reflex save. I have also left the cone in the map to show where it is going.

Fire Damage: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7

Jozan takes his scimitar slashing down and across, trying to draw the attention of the creature.

Slashing Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 1 = 7

Seeing how the weapons do not appear to be doing much, Jozan sidles around the side of the combat, looking for an opening to take up his holy symbol once again.

Jozan moves into the room, hopping atop the table against the wall, and dropping next to the model, threatening it with his sword.

Jozan growls and walks in, raising his holy symbol and calling for his god once again, "Sarenrae, grant me your healing touch that I may help this Professor!"

Jozan keeps a wary eye out, observing for his companions.

Jozan watches as his more well rounded companions find the secret door. "Looks like there's one last thing in this building, the whispering questions in the lab. Let's finish there, then head to the shack out back."

Jozan recalls the list of rumors given to the group. "I say now is as good a time as any to see if a door mysteriously appears while travelling alone to the laboratory. Who wants to try it?"

"Ah, a simple trick of the room. If we take a note to have this enchantment fixed, it should fix the problem."

Seeing Zenobia take the bracelet out of the panel, Jozan leans over to look while it plays through her hands. "This is a rather fascinating trinket."

Jozan recalls his training in the monastery, trying to place the sound.

Jozan looks to his companions, knowing his skills in this area are not as trained as theirs, but willing to help all the same.

Aid reaction for any Athletics attempts at the door. But considering everyone is better at thievery, may not be applicable.

Jozan groans as he realizes he still has injuries when the Professor takes time healing his wounds. "Thank you, Professor." Turning to the rest of the team, he says, "Let's go listen for a ghost in the north east lavatory, it is the closest thing in the building. Should be a quick check."

Hearing the whine, Jozan notices some of the injuries on his companion. "Red Roy, here let me help with those wounds."

Treat Wounds: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Not thrilled with his handiwork, but wanting to observe nonetheless, Jozan simply says, "We'll see how those bandages are holding up in an hour or so..."

All the same bonus: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Jozan is a bit too distracted making sure nothing else will attack the group to truly consider the mystery posed by the blank pages.

Jozan pulls out a stick of chalk and moves from shelf to shelf, quickly writing out a few titles before moving on to the next one. Not trusting the books or the shelves, he keeps a wary eye out while doing so. Looking for any traps, specifically about books or shelves falling on his head

Jozan helps the professor search the ground, trusting more in his eye for the uncommon, than looking at devices.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Jozan nods, breathing a sigh of relief. "Yes, let us head over to library, perhaps stopping by the northeast bathroom to see if that ghost is in."

Jozan growls as the statue races out of reach again. He raises his icon and calls, "Sarenrae, provide us with your healing light, that we may conquer this challenge!"

Not sure if the healing font gets level bumped by the second clause, or if it is just a flat +1 to the roll.

Jozan, seeing how long it took Professor Bun Bun to disable the statue, is wary as the armor he wears makes him too slow to move. I'll just wait for the statue to come my way before attempting to disable it.

Jozan unslings his shield, and grasps his holy symbol in his hand. He recites a prayer, looking to do something to this construct. "Sarenrae, bring your sunlight to this unthinking machine, bludgeon it with the spirit you have ensouled within me!"

Jozan turns his head as the statue rushes him down, taking its shoulder in full and a knee to the chest as it moves past him. "Agh! Sarenrae's brilliance, that smarts!"

He winces and gives a rueful grin to Zenobia, "I should probably heed the advice of more experienced agents." He attempts to catch his breath as the combat truly begins around him.

Jozan murmurs a quick prayer, "Sarenrae, grant us your light." A yellow orb springs into existence, hovering just above Jozan's shoulder. "Let's get to work, shall we?" He begins moving in towards the closest statue, bringing out some chalk from his kit to mark its location, and seeing if there is anything peculiar about it.

"I agree, that should give us some indication that these are moving around. If we're ready then, I say we move from west to east, after marking positions of both the statues and the books in the library."

Jozan nods, "That does make sense, now what do we have here?" Taking the folder and reading through it quickly he raises his eyebrow before passing it along. "These do indeed sound like urban legends. Do you perhaps have a map so we can determine the best path forward?"

Jozan seems quite large next to these companions, despite his only above average height. Clad in armor, the exposed skin of his face and hands are bronzed by the sun, and his symbol of Sarenrae hangs proudly by a leather thong around his neck.

"We will do everything we can to shed light on the situation. Who exactly was it that said they were in danger? Perhaps we should talk with them briefly about what they experienced."

He offers a respectful nod to the rest of his companions, "Please, just call me Jozan. It will be a pleasure working with more experienced field agents."

Society is only a +1
