About Bast Lorenti

Backstory:
The young man known as Bast Lorenti was born to slaves that worked a great arena.
During his childhood, he would spend his days helping to clean up the survivors and repair armor. At night, however, he would study the stars, anatomy, and alchemy. It was his desire to keep as many of the brave pit-fighters alive as he could.
His training paid off: the master of the pit took notice of his ability to heal and gave him a job patching up those warriors that he could. This continued for some time, and life was good. Brutal, but simple and easy.
Then, one day, Bast's parents were sold to a travelling caravan. He tried to see them off, but was kept in the medicum despite his protestations. It was then that he vowed to win his freedom and find his parents.
Many years passed. His routine remained largely unchanged: daytimes were filled with bloodshed and remedies, nights were filled with studying the working of the world.
One night, the secrets of magic "came" to Bast. With the guidance of one of his many tomes (gifted to him by a particularly nice elven mage-knight), he came to learn magic.
Eventually, the pit master reckoned his debts repaid and freed Bast. He was 23 at the time. And so, with his tattered books and a backpack, he set out to find his parents.
However, he had very little coin to his name. So, he turned his talents for potioncraft, smithing, and detailing into a business. He can frequently be found in Magnimar.
Currently, he works as a tinker and alchemist in a guild, selling his wares at reasonable (sometimes criminally low) prices.
He was last seen travelling to the town of Sandpoint to collect some supplies for his shop...

Appearance:
Bast is a young Chelaxian man in his mid-20s. He wears his raven hair long and free. He tries to keep it clean, but there is almost always some oil or ungent smeared into it.
His eyes are similarly dark, roughly the color of beetle-shell.
His frame is slight, but he is remarkably sturdy and agile.

Personality:
Bast has learned from experience and seeing pit fights that brains are better than brawns. He tends to think the situation through before acting, even if the action required is a well-placed detonation.
