Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barels eyes light up at the sight of the wine. He quaffs a glass, disregarding the flavor, and pours a second before regaining his manners. This one he drinks more appreciatively before agreeing with Thom regarding its quality.

At Arishat's comment, Barel eyes her for a moment before smiling in reply. "You don't need to fight me for the bath. I will wait my turn and then slosh around as happily as wine in a goblet! This sewer smell is even rankling my nose."

At this point, Barel realizes that he has nowhere to sit without soiling James's furniture. Instead, he pulls up a spot of floor outside of the bathroom, awaiting his turn.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel perks up at the pet name of Sir James. "Jammy...Jammy...I like that. I think I will use that now, but perhaps only when you are least expecting it," he says mischievously. "So, a bath and on to Pluton. i could certainly use a bath. Not much for sweets though. Perhaps a celebretory round of drinks...after the baths."

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel is still slightly confused as he finds himself in a new position behind everyone else. He agrees with Thom and eyes the departing stinky bastards as evilly as Lanthair..yet he too holds his actions for Raya to preach some sense to the senseless.

STANDARD: Ready "Shake the Earth" to trigger at the slightest sign of aggression from either of the rot slingers, as long as they are within the area of effect (4 squares).

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel hangs his head at the thought of Raya slogging through the sewage. "Sorry Raya, but that character over there may share his sweeties with you."

Male Dwarf Warden/16

font of life save vs weakened--1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Barel shakes off some of the stinky poo like a wet dog and gains his strength back. He then strikes at the closer revenant with his viney hammer to try to bring it within easy reach. He also takes a step away and a deep breath to try to gather his wits for continuing the battle, sweeties be damned!!!

Standard: Thorn strike--1d20 + 21 ⇒ (7) + 21 = 28 vs AC for 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20 and pull him to G12.
Move: Shift to H10.
Minor--second wind (using two surges HP=136/151, HS=13/17)
Save vs -2 saves--1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Male Dwarf Warden/16

"I will do my best...I tried to do that last time, but it managed to duck out of my way. Believe me, I don't want to step in the sh--tuff either!!!"

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel just got bloodied at the beginning of his turn from the 10 stench damage, so healing would not hurt, but he doesn't particularly need it yet.

Barel tries to shake off the feeling of weakness from the stench eating away at his boots. Then, vines flow from his hammer trying to pull the creature back to his side.

Font of life save vs weakened 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (9) - 2 = 7.
STANDARD: Thorn strike (melee 2): 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (1) + 21 = 22. On a hit: damage = 1d10 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21(10 damage since he is still weakened) and pull the creature one square towards me (to H11) (and mark it).
Since it missed, Barel will shift forward one square (to H11) and mark the stinky blighter.

save versus -2 saves 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6
save versus weakened 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel dives into the ground and reemerges adjacent to the most distant enemy before swinging heartily at it...but is surprised that the creature doesn't just wilt from the stench of his own clothes.

MOVE: Tread the earth--burrow and emerge at I11.
STANDARD: Weight of the Earth--1d20 + 21 ⇒ (14) + 21 = 35 vs AC. On hit: 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25 damage and it is slowed UEMNT.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel moves forward to an open area in the midst of the chaos and attempts to unleash some of his own poo-splashing mess.

MOVE:to O6.
STANDARD: Shake the earth (encounter close burst 4)--vs Fort for S1,S4,and S5.
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (11) + 22 = 33 vs S1
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (13) + 22 = 35 vs S4
1d20 + 22 ⇒ (7) + 22 = 29 vs S5
(subtract 5 from each if necessary, but the power states "solid objects do not block line of effect for the burst"--Rev, you can decide if the -5 applies here).
On a hit: 2d10 + 11 ⇒ (1, 7) + 11 = 19 thunder damage and "if the target is burrowing, you slide the target 4 squares to the closest square to it that is in your line of effect". I am not sure how to interpret that right now, so feel free to slide any effected creatures as you desire, provoking attacks if possible.

Google docs?

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Yipee, back from vacation and then camping, just in time for a quick jaunt into the sewers to battle invisible kind-a dead things!

Barel does indeed follow into the sewers and was eyeing the bubbles nervously, until the gash appears on Raya's ankles!

Male Dwarf Warden/16

"Barel approaches the remaining angel WITH purpose"!

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel approaches the remaining angel without purpose. He swings his axe at the creature and hopes for the best.

I am on my tablet only and the map doesn't seem to be coming up correct. So feel free to modify this post as is reasonable...I am in Florida on vacation and enjoying myself way too much (and may not check for a day or so)
MOVE: to adjacent to remaining angel.
STANDARD: Weight of the earth--1d20 + 26 ⇒ (17) + 26 = 43 vs angel for 1d10 + 22 ⇒ (9) + 22 = 31 and he is slowed UEMNT (+2 more dmage if he is bloodied already).

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel senses an opening and swings at the authority figure again.

Standard: Mountain Hammer (encounter) vs AA--1d20 + 22 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 22 + 5 = 47 vs FORT. On a hit: 2d10 + 16 ⇒ (4, 7) + 16 = 27 (plus 2 more if he is bloodied)and he takes a -7 penalty to melee attacks UEMNT

EDIT: CRIT--YIPPEE!!! Damage is 3d10 + 36 ⇒ (2, 7, 2) + 36 = 47 (+2 more if he is bloodied)

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Thanks Raya...and no that did not include the +5, so it is 31 VS AC.

Font of Life Save at beginning of turn: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Save failed, so half damage on rough strike.
Save vs weakened end of turn: 1d20 ⇒ 19

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel takes the sunburn stoicly, then moves towards the Angel of Authority and strikes at it roughly.

MOVE: to current position on map.
STANDARD: rough strike:1d20 + 21 ⇒ (5) + 21 = 26 vs AC for 2d10 + 30 ⇒ (2, 5) + 30 = 37 damage and slowed UEMNT.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel swings mightily at the fleeing angel.

AoO--1d20 + 26 ⇒ (10) + 26 = 36 for 1d10 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25 damage

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Oops. I didn't catch that the minion angels healed AA...BAD Barel. Sorry.
Also, although I didn't specifically mention it, but Barel would have marked each of his adjacent foes after he pulled them to him (A3, A6, and AA), just like he normally does.
Additionally, he has learned his lesson about smacking the minions, but if they still attack Thom despite the -3 to hit (from Barel's mark), then he will immediate reaction (Warden's grasp) and slide A3 back to M17 to get at least one of them not to be adjacent to Thom.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel moves towards the Angel of Authority, lashes out at it and every other enemy nearby, trying to pull them back within the area of the pennant.

Save vs Weakened 1d20 ⇒ 14

MOVE: to N18.
STANDARD: Form of Crushing Mountain Attack (Close Burst 3)VS AC on A2, A3, A6, and AA.
On Hit--1d10 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18 and pull the targets two squares.
On Miss--half damage and pull them 1 square.
A2--1d20 + 21 ⇒ (12) + 21 = 33
A3--1d20 + 21 ⇒ (10) + 21 = 31
A6--1d20 + 21 ⇒ (5) + 21 = 26
AA--1d20 + 21 ⇒ (10) + 21 = 31

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Sorry for the delay...I was waist deep in renovating a bathroom over the weekend. Here goes:
MBA--1d20 + 24 ⇒ (8) + 24 = 32; Damage--1d10 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Oops, it has been a while and I completely forgot about both of those. Font of Life--1d20 ⇒ 2--Fail; end of turn save--1d20 ⇒ 15--WIN. Yea, no longer weakened!

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel moves directly towards the Angel, becomes a stony-faced bastard, and attempts to swing (somewhat)mightily at it.

MOVE: completed on Map
MINOR--Form of the Crushing Mountain (+3 AC, adjacent enemies cannot shift and costs 1 extra square of movement to leave squares adjacent to me)
Standard--weight of the earth--1d20 + 21 ⇒ (16) + 21 = 37 vs AA's AC.
On hit: 1d10 + 13 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 13 + 9 = 30 (but half the damage due to weakened).

Male Dwarf Warden/16

perception check:1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24

Barel has been uneasy in this town since his arrival and likely picks up on the strangeness also. He prepares himself by stepping forward somewhat and holds his hammer by his side...mostly without threat.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Holy cow...everytime I look, the conversation has taken up another page! Rather than backing up the conversation, we will assume that Barel grunted at Sir James appropriately.

Barel appreciated James' seeming forthrightness, but still reserves judgement for later. As such, Barel also stands by the back door with Lanthair while the rest move inside.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel has been plodding quietly behind...perhaps still uncomfortable in the bustling crowds. But finally, the mention of lockbusters and Raya's seeming innocence cause him to stir from his quiet.
"Alright SIR JAMES, what is it you ARE trying to sell then? I am Barel and am not happy that our previous thief had to stay behind. And I am doubly not wanting to pick up another thief who just happens to strike up a conversation with such as us. I am not nearly as trusting as young Lanthair here. What is it you want from us? Just to sell a few trinkets and concoctions of astounding power. If so, lets see your wares and be done.

Barel may seem a bit edgier than his normal gruff but quiet demeanor, but he has lost a teammate, gone through another confounded portal, and is now traipsing around this Sigil place without much clue as to where he is headed...he gets unhappy without a dungeon and might not mind a bad guy to beat up on (or perhaps another drink). Thinking to himself, When did I have my last drink...is it too early for another? Maybe I should break out the barrel again for a swig...no, it is too early still.

Welcome James! Barel may seem rude or at least unwelcoming, but that is only until he gets to know you (and trust you, which is not particularly easy to gain). Another reason this is setting his nerves on edge (although he will not acknowledge it anytime soon) is that he seems to be developing a drinking problem. It should develop in-game somewhat slowly, and this is only because I need to develop his character a bit more.

Rev DM, sorry for the slower posts the past little while. I have started teaching a summer class that is quite accelerated and is taking up a large portion of my time in June. I should be able to get back on track now that it is progressing--there was a lot of prep work, and now comes the relatively easier part of actually teaching and stacks of grading over the next 3 weeks.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel has been uncharacteristically quiet since arriving in the hive. The booming metropolis is throwing him off his game, but he nods gruffly at the one dwarf he notices. Barel finally gets up the nerve and asks the urchin leading us around about the cannibalistic walls. "So they...eat each other? Do they ever eat the inhabitants?"

Nothing really to add here, but wanted to let you all know I am here still!

Male Dwarf Warden/16

WooHoo--done! The updated Barel is up on IP4E.

Barel looks dubiously at the glowing circle--"I didn't like those in Moil, this one only seems marginally better." The lighthearted demeanor has disappeared, perhaps due to the portal, but it could have something to do with the fact that he put his cask of ale away.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel thinks--great, just got over a brain eating bug and now I get to blow myself up in a Tarot shop...excellent!
1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32

Yet, somehow he nimbly races across the floor and adds a little jump at the end. He does the Mario jump, but doesn't know that is what it is called!

Male Dwarf Warden/16

"I will be sure to ask her lots of annoying questions...just for you." He smiles at Arishat, happy that he at least usually gets sarcasm.

He then pulls out his hammer and taps somewhat gently at the wooden door.

well-played Arishat; and now I know you can pseudo "Like" a post! Pretty cool!

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel strides up to Arishat and grins towards Lanthair, "Why is the jumpy one hiding in the corner?
Someone mentioned something about a ship...when is it leaving?
I may need another drink before getting on another of those confounded floating tombs. Last time I was on one...well, lets just sum it up as 'me and boats don't get along to well'."

Male Dwarf Warden/16

"Thank you Father Teech, for your kind ministrations and glorious rum. I hope to see you again one day."

Barel leaves the Temple with a longing backwards glance...as if he thought he could stay there forever, but this is not the right time.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Perhaps Barel should be considering his options, but for now he is still enjoying the idea of not being eaten from the inside out. He offers/shares a drink with Raya and Thom as they arrive.

"Have any of you heard from the others? I hope they can secure our passage with little more...delay."

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel is somewhat relieved by Father Teech's words and is happy to stick around for a while. He seems to remember we were supposed to meet up at the temple when all the work was done...at least that is what he thinks.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel walks deliberately with Raya back towards the temple. For once, his tolerance for the liquid gold is not helping his cause...as he continues to drink from the keg in an uncharacteristically long binge. Endurance check = (11)+20 = 31

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel is equally clueless to her fury (insight=(9)+ 9 = 18), but appreciates her smile. "I'm fine, its just my brain at stake...never been too worried about it anyway! Let's have another drink!"...as he carries the cask under the unhurt arm and a mug in the opposite hand. He is clearly downplaying his worry, plus the idea of going back to the pirate-priest for some more of that rum has him all a-shiver with anticipation!

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel will certainly submit to Raya's ministrations...after another slug of ale. "Anyone else want some of this?"

He winces a little when she pulls out the stiletto and tourniquet, but otherwise is unaffected by Raya's actions. At some point, he looks at Thom says "Don't you wish this is you? You could be receiving her personal attention right now...then again, there is that minor issue of frog larvae drilling through your skull."

Male Dwarf Warden/16

At Raya's examination, Barel is disquieted with her assessment of his predicament. He has been through a lot, and doesn't want a slaad popping out of his head...that would put a damper on his day. Perhaps ale will help; so he pulls out his everlasting cask of liquid gold and quaffs a large volume. He states "Alcohol kills what ails you, right?!" Only after several large drinks does he even consider trying to sort out the happenings in the room (and since it has already been figrued out, he was of no help anyway!).

Barel has a +20 on his endurance checks, so a good night's rest (or maybe several) should see the demise of the slaad larva wriggling around inside his arm. However, he does not realize that and will possibly drink himself to oblivion, unless Raya or a doctor suggests otherwise.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

well that was a fun roller coaster ride!

Barel stands up and wollops the frog spawn adjacent to him. He then looks to the other side of the ship determining if they still need his assistance, before taking a deep breath and feeling much better.

MOVE: stand from prone.
STANDARD: Weight of the Earth--(19)+21= 40 vs AC
on hit: it is obliterated--(9)+13+3+6= 31 damage and is slowed UEMNT.
MINOR: second wind--back to full HP.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Oh Boy..infected by a parasitoid! It is fun when work and play come together (my PhD was all about learning in parasitoid wasps)!

Barel swats at the bites on his arm, but ignores it for now. He concentrates on the Slaad again, this time getting a bit peeved at its having the gall to hit him AND knock him down. He stands and then swings a mighty blow at the creature in the hopes of keeping it where it is a few more moments.

MOVE: Stand from prone.
STANDARD: Weight of the earth (melee)--(9)+21= 30 VS AC
on hit: (3)+13+3+6+2= 27 damage and he is slowed UEMNT.
Minor: Mark the slaad again.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Maid:
After Barel swings at Slaad's attempted departure, he moves forward to engage it one more time. He attempts to hold the creature in place by making the boat hull around himself mushy and muddy.

MOVE: to O7
STANDARD: Drown in mud (Close burst 1, target 1 creature)--(13)+21 = 34 vs AC,
on hit: (7,10)+11+3+6=37 damage and he is immobilized UEMNT
effect: Until the end of your next turn, the area of the burst counts as difficult terrain and any creature (other than you) in the area of the burst that takes damage falls prone.
Minor: Mark him again. (also reminder: -3 to hit other people when he is marked by Barel instead of -2).

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Maid:
Barel swings his hammer at the passing slaad, landing squarely but weakly on his target.

AoO--MBA--(19)+22=41 vs AC, for (1)+13 +3=17 damage.

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel swings his hammer in a mightly arc at the boat hull in front of his feet, creating a mighty crash of thunder throughout the ship. He then steps up to confront the slaad one more time.

STANDARD--Shake the earth (Encounter--burst 4)--
slaad: (17)+22 = 39 vs fort
spawn: (11)+22 = 33 vs fort
on hit: (10,5)+11+3 = 29 damage

If spawn gone:
MOVE: to S6
MINOR: mark Slaad

If spawn not gone:
MOVE: to R7
MINOR: Mark Spawn

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Oops. sorry Raya. I will fix it next time!

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Ok, lets give it a try.
Barel takes Raya's suggestion, but not before taking a guardian form with extra long arms. He then steps back to give Raya more room before swinging his lengthened arm and hammer at the slaad.

Minor--Guardian form of oak sentinel (increase reach by 1)
Move--shift back one to O7 (I already did this on the map, lets see if it took).
Standard--thorn strike (melee reach 3): (4)+21 = 25 vs AC. On hit (yeah right!), (6)+13+3=22 damage.

Barel is so used to being the buffer between the bad guys and his team, that he is unnerved by Raya's suggestion and whiffs off-balance at the slaad. Chagrined, Barel mumbles apologetically at Raya, and tells himself to do better next time.

Oh Boy!! Sounds quite lovely!

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Good luck to you...that sounds very frustrating. As my grandfather used to say, "I'm so angry, I could spit fire and save matches!"...I feel sure he edited the original word into spit, but it still is applicable here! Get done when you can--Barel just has an angry frog dude staring him down...nothing new for him! ;)

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Barel swings back at the creature.

standard: rough strike--39 v AC
on hit: 37 damage and he is slowed UEMNT.

Sorry, I had more detail and that post got eaten also...probably the fault of my tablet, not paizo...probably!

Male Dwarf Warden/16

Please place Barel in P7 instead of P6. And since he missed, Barel could not move the Slaad, and consequently could not mark it.
